The city of San Francisco preemptively rolled out 30 recreational vehicles on Tuesday (March 19) it said would be used to house individuals who do not have their own home and have tested positive for COVID-19, the highly contagious and sometimes fatal respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.
The 30 vehicles, which cost just above $440,000, were rented through June and were paid for by funds gained through Mayor London Breed’s emergency declaration, will be available to individuals identified through the Department of Public Health or through health care providers, Francis Zamora, director of external affairs for the city’s emergency management department, told reporters on Tuesday.

Republican California Rep. Devin Nunes accused the “media and the left” of “putting the country into a panic” over the coronavirus pandemic. Appearing on Saturday night’s “Watters World,” Nunes drew from his own experience coming down with H1N1 to urge Americans to “remain calm.” WATCH: (Video) “A lot of people are panicking,” Nunes told Fox News host Jesse Watters. “One guy sneezed. Someone has a runny nose.” The California congressman noted that most of this will be because of the oncoming Spring and the fact that people “have a lot of allergies.”

Just a few months before the Covid-19 outbreak, an exercise was held by world elites called Event 201, where they simulated a global pandemic of a coronavirus that transmitted from bats to humans. Taking place in October, the event was hosted by Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, Bloomberg School Of Public Health, World Economic Forum, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The simulation analyzed the health impacts, as well as the economic, lifestyle, and trade fallout from the virus. Coronavirusmania has overtaken America. Although there are no reported cases anywhere near some school districts, their doors have been closed thus forcing children to go to school until August. Others are considering remote learning assuming every student has a computer at home.
Every night, the lead story on the news is about coronavirus, the latest statistics, the latest cancellation. I take it as a small blessing that Pearl Jam cancelled the spring leg of their tour saving me a trip to Baltimore (like Pearl Jam, hate Baltimore). But that blessing was blown up in smoke when my beloved NHL suspended the season

Yikes.
It’s moments like this that have more and more people understandably concerned about the mental well-being of the Democrat front-runner for president.
And note too how his handlers quickly replace the image of confused Joe Biden shuffling out of frame with a campaign logo image during what was a live video stream meant to show Mr. Biden discussing concerns with voters.
Trying to keep these Biden gaffes somewhat contained/hidden has become a 24/7 operation for the Biden campaign.
In a bizarre, meandering livestream put on by Joe Biden's campaign today, he forgets what year it is and when, if he doesn't lose, he would be in office.

After the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington on Thursday announced the cancellation of upcoming Masses because of the coronavirus pandemic, many Catholics are scrambling for other options.
Archbishop Wilton Gregory issued a dispensation from the Sunday obligation and recommended that people watch livestreamed Masses instead. But for many Catholics, simply watching Mass, on Sunday as well on St. Joseph’s and St. Patrick’s Day, the two major feasts next week, is an unsatisfying prospect.
"I was shocked, but what are you going to do?” said Jacquelyn Basso, who lives part-time in D.C. “I’m so sad they’re not going to have Mass."

"People can get tested according to a priority structure, and it's not enough testing. It's just as simple as that," de Blasio said, later claiming that the city has been "pleading" with the federal government for additional testing. "Here's the reality. This is a war-like situation. In 2016, many people (liberal ones anyway) asked what would happen if Trump wouldn’t concede the election to Hillary Clinton. In 2019, the same people asked what would happen if Trump doesn’t concede the 2020 election if he loses. Again, a silly question, because the transfer of power isn’t dependent on the concession of the candidate, regardless of whether he or she is an incumbent.
After Louisiana postponed its primary on Friday, the big question of 2020 is whether the coronavirus outbreak might cause the 2020 election to be postponed. In fact, unhinged liberals on social media have been “predicting” this will happen for weeks.

The country has has confirmed 16 cases of coronavirus with no deaths, while there are more than 1,800 cases in the United States, where 41 people have died.

Closing schools for eight weeks or more may have a greater impact on mitigating the spread of the novel coronavirus than two- to four-week closures, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said. Shorter-term closures will likely make little difference in the spread of the disease, new CDC guidance states, even as K-12 school districts across the country began announcing school closures within the shorter time frame. Further, short-term closures may actually have detrimental effects, negatively impacting older caregivers at home, the CDC said.

The debate over the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus (COVID-19) is remarkably devoid of hard data comparisons. With President Trump’s decision on Wednesday to expand travel restrictions to the European Union, it is time to evaluate the very different approaches to travel restrictions that the U.S. and the E.U. have taken.
The end of January seems long ago. Until January 30th, the World Health Organization (WHO) explicitly declined to classify the coronavirus (COVID-19) as a global emergency. It urged countries not to restrict travel or trade.
The WHO announcement on travel was partially in response to the U.S. government’s January 27th recommendation that Americans “avoid all non-essential travel to China.”

What is the definition of a mainstream Democrat? How does the average Democrat voter look and act? What distinguishes the modern "mainstream" Democrat from an independent or a Republican? These are not rhetorical questions. I honestly have no idea.Former Democratic Michigan governor James Blanchard said this: "The Reagan Democrats before that were really Wallace Democrats, to be blunt about it. The national press has never quite explained that, but the county has changed a lot. It's not as conservative Democratic as it used to be. It's much more open now to mainstream Democrats now, but you have to work for it."

Andrew Gillum, the former Mayor of Tallahassee, was the Democrat candidate for governor in 2016. Ultimately Ron DeSantis won by almost 34,000 votes.
Florida may have dodged a bullet. On Friday, Candace Owens published on Twitter photos of a police report in which Gillum figured prominently with a sordid tale of drugs and, possibly, a gay sex orgy.
According to the police report, in the early hours of February 13, Miami Beach police responded to a possible overdose in a hotel room. When they arrived, they discovered three men: Travis Dyson, the man who overdosed; Aldo Mejias, who made the 911 call; and Andrew Gillum.

When he introduced a coronavirus plan that is merely a pale simulacrum of President Trump’s robust plans, Joe Biden announced that he would “lead by science.” That was obviously a jab at President Trump, one that ignored that Trump and Vice President Pence have surrounded themselves with America’s top medical and scientific researchers. When it comes to Biden's advisors, though, something disturbing is going on: At least one of the scientists advising Biden thinks old people ought to die.
The worrisome advisor is Ezekiel Emanuel, Rahm Emanuel’s brother. He got a lot of attention in 2009 and 2010, because he was “a chief architect of that health care overhaul,

The House easily passed a bipartisan coronavirus aid package early Saturday morning after intense negotiating between Democrats and the Trump administration. The bill passed 363-40, with 40 Republicans voting against it.The “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” would secure free tests for all Americans — even the uninsured — and mandatory two weeks of paid sick leave for those affected by the health crisis. The sweeping package also provides up to three months of paid family and medical leave and strengthened unemployment insurance to brace for workers who could be laid off during the pandemic.

The man who wants to save America from coronavirus struggled mightily Friday evening with cameras, computers, and microphones.
Due to the restrictions on crowds because of coronavirus, Joe Biden scheduled a “virtual town hall” in Illinois on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Central. Then it was moved to 6:00 p.m. Central. When Breitbart News tuned in, Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth was fiddling with her camera phone, at one moment setting it on the table pointed straight up at the ceiling so America could see her light fixture.

First of all, Wuhan is a place and not a race, and to identify the coronavirus by its place of origin, like naming the Ebola Virus for a river in Zaire, is not racist or xenophobic — it's merely accurate. There is no racism or xenophobia in labeling an infection "Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever" or calling something "Lyme Disease" after a nearby town in Ohio.
What calling this latest virus the Wuhan Virus is is a reminder of the multiple contagions China has spawned and released on an unsuspecting world.

Asia’s richest man announced his intention on Friday to ship 500,000 testing kits and 1 million masks to the U.S. in an effort to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
Jack Ma’s charitable foundation and his China-based company's foundation, the Alibaba Foundation, have also sourced and donated supplies to other countries being hit by the virus, including Japan, Korea, Italy, Iran and Spain.
The donation comes amid testing delays across the U.S. as state officials scramble amid a shortage of lab materials — sparking concerns that health officials are undercounting the number of Americans with the virus.

Washington, D.C.On the fourth floor of the Museum of the Bible, a sweeping permanent exhibit tells the story of how the ancient scripture became the world’s most popular book. A warmly lit sanctum at the exhibit’s heart reveals some of the museum’s most prized possessions: fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient texts that include the oldest known surviving copies of the Hebrew Bible.
But now, the Washington, D.C. museum has confirmed a bitter truth about the fragments’ authenticity. On Friday, independent researchers funded by the Museum of the Bible announced that all 16 of the museum’s Dead Sea Scroll fragments are modern forgeries that duped outside collectors,

The COVID-19 outbreak is giving new meaning to those “sustainable” shopping bags that politicians and environmentalists have been so eager to impose on the public. These reusable tote bags can sustain the COVID-19 and flu viruses—and spread the viruses throughout the store.
Researchers have been warning for years about the risks of these bags spreading deadly viral and bacterial diseases, but public officials have ignored their concerns, determined to eliminate single-use bags and other plastic products despite their obvious advantages in reducing the spread of pathogens. In New York State, a new law took effect this month banning single-use plastic bags in most retail businesses, and this week

Never let it be said that Bernie Sanders isn't doing his level best to spread fear and panic across America.
At a doom-and-gloom press conference today, Sanders pleaded with Trump to pay for everyone to be tested for COVID-19, demanded paid leave for all, and generally transplanted his political agenda onto the coronavirus response that the U.S. should make. How convenient.
But most of all, Sanders is telling Americans that they are in grave danger because the president has fallen down on the job. And the ultimate cost of Trump's incompetence will be hundreds of thousands of dead.

For Sarah Palin, it has been a long, strange trip. I have always been a fan of hers. She did a terrific job as a citizen activist in Alaska, and then as governor. I thought she acquitted herself well as a vice presidential candidate; among other things, she thrashed Joe Biden in their vice presidential debate. And that was when Biden was in full possession of his (admittedly meager) faculties.
But then she went show biz. When she resigned, needlessly, as governor, I wrote here that whatever shot she had to be a presidential contender was gone. Commenters blasted me

Democrats showed us a surprising amount of cohesion and coordination, when, collectively, they took action to turn Joe Biden’s strong finish in South Carolina into a romp through Super Tuesday. But they may regret this decision sooner than they think — and we may come to despise them for it.
Already there is an effort underway to protect Biden from any possible damage that Bernie Sanders could do to him in the remainder of the Democratic primaries. Leading Democrats such as James Clyburn have argued that it would be useless to hold more debates, because the party already has a strong front-runner, a prohibitive favorite if polls hold up.

From the moment that President Trump was elected, we have been battered by the percussion of a steady drumbeat amplifying the repeated mantra that “Donald Trump is a threat to our democracy.” We hear all the lies over and over:
Trump is a dictator.
He has suspended civil liberties.
He has run rough-shod over the courts.
He ignores the law.
He defies the Constitution.
It all is garbage. Pure dirty, disgusting, filthy, lice-riddengarbage. To paraphrase that concierge: “You used to be able to sit out on the stoop like a person.

On the day Chuck Schumer was threatening Supreme Court justices in front of a pack of cheering partisans, Rep. Ayanna Pressley told the same crowd: “We have two alleged sexual predators on the bench of the highest court of the land, with the power to determine our reproductive freedoms. I still believe Anita Hill. And I still believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford!”
Now, it is far more accurate to call Hill a “disgraced accuser” than Clarence Thomas an “alleged sexual predator.” Not a single credible accuser — and Thomas had scores of subordinates working for him during his years in government — ever corroborated Hill’s description of Thomas’ actions.

Healthcare providers across the country are asking how they can access strategic stockpiles of critical equipment, bracing for the possibility of a shortage as the influx of patients grows amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Personal protection equipment meant to keep nurses and doctors healthy is already in short supply in some parts of the country, and as warnings from federal health officials suggest the spread of the novel coronavirus will get worse before it gets better, providers are expressing a growing fear that their needs could outrun demand in the coming weeks.

Delta Air Lines is suspending all flights to continental Europe and sidelining 300 of its planes as the coronavirus continues to spread and upend the travel industry.
In an internal memo to the airline's 90,000 employees, Delta CEO Ed Bastian said "demand for travel is declining at an accelerated pace daily, driving an unprecedented revenue impact." He said the move is the largest "capacity reduction" since the 9/11 attacks. As multiple industries continue to be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, airline travel has been particularly hit hard. Many governments have enacted tough travel restrictions, including the United States. Beginning midnight Friday, travel

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) attacked President Donald Trump on Friday after the president declared a national state of emergency to fight the spread of the deadly COVID-19 coronavirus.
Schumer said:
I’m pleased the president heeded our calls to invoke the Stafford Act to extend vital financial assistance to help keep communities safe from the coronavirus outbreak. I urge New York and other states to immediately request these newly available funds and for the Trump administration to approve these requests without delay.
Schumer also warned the president not to “overstep his authority” in dealing with the spread of the coronavirus.
