Asia’s richest man announced his intention on Friday to ship 500,000 testing kits and 1 million masks to the U.S. in an effort to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
Jack Ma’s charitable foundation and his China-based company's foundation, the Alibaba Foundation, have also sourced and donated supplies to other countries being hit by the virus, including Japan, Korea, Italy, Iran and Spain.
The donation comes amid testing delays across the U.S. as state officials scramble amid a shortage of lab materials — sparking concerns that health officials are undercounting the number of Americans with the virus.

Gee, that’s awful nice of him. No thanks anyway, I’ll pass. I wouldn’t trust those masks.

Agree with #1. I wouldn’t trust the masks either and we’ve already been told that they don’t protect you from getting anything. They are used for keeping people who are already sick from spreading disease.

How nice. We have a Mister Mother Teresa wanting to help the poor saps in the US who ordered 2 from column A and 1 from column B on the menu of delicacies offered. Where will the liberal elites in Congress build his shrine?

Explain the charts on Bloomberg as of March 12. https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2020-wuhan-novel-coronavirus-outbreak/?itm_source=inline
New cases in Wuhan, China peaked at 80,000+ then took a precipitous dive to almost zero. This donor should give us the vaccine and the cure which it appears the Chinese at the outset. Italy, Iran, France and Spain are on the up-swing. China went flat at 80,000 for weeks then took a dive. A planted virus by the Chinese who had a vaccine and cure at the start? A little nudge and the US enemedia jumped the shark and took the baited hook to create a pandemic.
Again??? Who has blood on their hands?????

Great humanitarian gesture. Where are the donations from those who really care about us like George Soros, Mike Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, etc? If you can drop half a billion on campaign ads made up of lies, you can buy a few masks. I don't think anybody is undercounting but I'm sure that many people already infected are not bothering to go to the doctor because it feels like nothing more than a cold to them. By the time a test is available, it's over.
Once the gimmedat organizations become aware that the democrats are handing out free money to help "victims" there will be high demand for government checks to treat everybody on the street who has a sniffle.

I wonder if the test kits actually work. Good PR move, but....

We have Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) taking care of a lot of what is necessary during this outbreak. Our Medical Professionals require what would be better be described as a respirator, than a paper mask while treating Wuhan patients.

He's showing off, of course, but I wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. The masks, especially, might be nice. Don't forget that the cheap masks are really more for protecting the world from your droplets, than vice versa. If you go out wearing a mask, you're signalling that you're doing your part to slow the spread of disease. That's a big part, so I'm told, of why you see so many Asians wearing them.

I bet they do work, #9 . . . just like the made-in-China thumb drives we'd been sticking in our laptops until we discovered they were infected with malware.
China seems to be synonymous with infection. And the viral source of it is Godless communism.

I thought the problem with Chinese tests were a higher false negative result? Would be silly to accept a known faulty test since time is so valuable in getting quarantine in place for those who do have it.
