President Trump teased Democrats following a significant win by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., in the Nevada Caucuses and a Washington Post report that Russia was trying to help Sanders win the Democratic primary race.
Sanders' victory Saturday -- his second after being narrowly edged out in Iowa -- has the Democratic establishment reeling, with former Vice President Joe Biden looking to turn things around quickly after finishing a distant second. Trump offered some free advice.
"Are any Democrat operatives, the DNC, or Crooked Hillary Clinton, blaming Russia, Russia, Russia for the Bernie Sanders win in Nevada. If so I suggest calling Bob Mueller & the 13 Angry Democrats

Sen. Bernie Sanders, the frontrunner for the Democrats' presidential nomination, doubled down on his support for some of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro's policies, saying in an interview that aired Sunday, "it's unfair to simply say everything is bad."
Speaking to CBS News' "60 Minutes," Sanders, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, pointed to social welfare programs introduced under Castro's regime that he described as redeeming, despite the communist dictator's often repressive human-rights violations against Cubans.

Adventurer Colin O’Brady felt like his hands were being crushed.
It was his 48th day trudging through Antarctica, attempting to become the first person ever to walk the 930 miles from one end of the continent to the other completely unassisted.
But battling through a particularly nasty storm, the 12-hour days spent gripping ski poles combined with wind chill temperatures as low as -112 degrees Fahrenheit left him barely able to close his hands.
Amidst his pain and confusion, as he set up his tent, he neglected to ground it to his sled. A wind gust transformed it into a sail, and O’Brady, 33, grabbed it in a panic,

The famous 1980 Miracle on Ice hockey team, which defeated the Soviets on its way to a surprise gold medal at the Lake Placid Olympics, is under fire after appearing at a rally for President Donald Trump. Many members of the team were in Las Vegas over the weekend to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their shocking upset of the Soviet Union and attended a campaign rally Trump was holding the night before the Nevada Democratic caucus. But they didn’t just attend — they appeared on stage, with every present team member wearing a red “Keep America Great” hat. The Headline corrected.

The U.S. Constitution is famously short—a mere 7,591 words, including its 27 amendments. That makes it all the more remarkable that 110 of those words have been, in effect, lost to the ages.
These forgotten words form Section 2 of the 14th Amendment, which was designed to guard against the infringement of voting rights. The lost provision is simple: States that deny their citizens the right to vote will have reduced representation in the House of Representatives. I bet you’ve never heard of that part of our founding document.

Prosecutors these days don’t need to prove that the defendant committed an illegal act. Unencumbered by any judge or jury, prosecutors have the power to ruin people’s lives for the “crime” of what they say or think.
That’s what’s happening in the high-profile, politically-tinged cases of Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Michael Avenatti and others.
In the case of Flynn, the former National Security Advisor, the FBI decided beforehand to downplay their interview of him by presenting it almost as a social call.

Well, he did well here in 2016—and now he won it outright. In 2016, Hillary Clinton took the Nevada Caucus relatively early. In 2020, Sanders did the same, but it was a landslide win. The writing was on the wall. The Vermont democratic socialist just dominated the exit polls. He dominated with very liberal voters, took a good chunk of college-educated women—no one took an outright majority there—and ran the table with Hispanic voters. He appears to have received a healthy amount of support from union workers, specifically the key culinary workers union that has been in a nasty fight with the Sanders campaign over his Medicare for All proposal.

Michael Bloomberg is at the crux of a battle of clichés. America may be the land of second chances, but you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Like most of what ails us today, the seeds of the current crisis in republican governance — the severance of Washington’s omnipotent law enforcement and intelligence apparatus from democratic accountability — were sown in the 1960s and ’70s. That was when we began to erase the salient distinction between law and politics. Under the guise of “national security,” we insulated governmental actions and policies from the reckoning of our citizens, whose safety and self-determination hang in the balance.Fast forward to 2020. The FBI, in its bungling partisanship, very likely swung the 2016 presidential election away from its preferred candidate, Hillary Clinton.

That Bernie Sanders has won the Nevada caucuses is a one-line story: Bernie won in Nevada.
The real story is the absolute horror that establishment Democrats are experiencing as they realize that Bernie momentum leaves them with only two choices at the Democrat party convention in July: Yield to the passionate base and anoint Bernie as their candidate, despite the probability (although, sadly, not the certainty) that he will lose spectacularly; or they can override the passionate base and, in a backroom deal, give the nomination to someone else, yielding to an equally spectacular schism in the party as the Bernie Bros get angry.

President Trump is about to get the biggest rally of his presidency – but it won’t be in the United States.Trump’s first state visit to India this week will be packed with pomp and parades, starting with Monday’s 14-mile motorcade through Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, the stronghold of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has promised to cram the route with throngs of supporters. Then the two will hold a 100,000-person rally at Motera Stadium, the city’s brand-new cricket grounds – the world’s largest. The president and First Lady Melania Trump will visit the Taj Mahal that evening, then travel to New Delhi for a day of ceremonial meetings,

Nearly 50% of the American political world hate President Trump. Truly hate him. This is no mild disregard like it was for President Bush 43 “Dubbya,” he of the cowboy foreign policy. This is not the “He’s a total lightweight but he’s pretty harmless so we can sandbag him,” disrespect they had for George HW Bush. This is even deeper than the outright derision and scorn in which they held for Ronald Reagan. No, this goes farther. This is hatred on a deep, visceral level. A we’d-revert-to-violence-if-we-could-get-away-with-it hatred. They really, really hate him -- personally, politically, any way you can slice it.Here’s why: He’s not one of “them.”

Philip Haney, an expert on Islamic extremism who was a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security in 2003 and who became a prominent critic of President Obama’s questionable management of the agency after he retired in 2015, died from a single gunshot wound on February 21. Haney’s body was found lying on the ground outside his car (snip) Haney, who is credited with helping capture more than 300 jihadists, is best known for blowing the whistle on the Obama administration for shutting down an investigation he was leading that could have potentially stopped, among others… the terrorist attack in San Bernardino.

Once again operating out of their well-worn playbook, the Democrats are spinning the cylinder and placing the gun to their heads in suggesting the Russians are backing the President’s re-election, and once again they missed the empty chamber and fired a bullet into their leading candidate.
In 2016, when they claimed that Trump was Russia’s choice and had secured his election, they ended up with highlighting to voters what the media had covered up: It was Hillary Clinton who approved the Uranium One sale of 20% of U.S. Uranium.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) announced Saturday he has a tumor on his left kidney and will undergo surgery to remove it next month.
“Friends – I’ve got a tumor on my left kidney and will undergo a partial nephrectomy in early March to remove it. The prognosis is very good and I’m profoundly grateful to my doctors for detecting the tumor early,” Murphy tweeted.
“Over 50,000 New Jerseyans will hear the words 'you have cancer' this year, so I'm far from alone here.”

After racking up a big win in Nevada, Sen. Bernie Sanders is in a commanding position in the 2020 Democratic presidential race. Though he may not yet be inevitable, we’ve reached the point where it will be hard for establishment Democrats to stop him without inflicting a great cost on their eventual nominee.
Sanders arguably won Iowa, and he now has added a big win in Nevada to his victory in New Hampshire. So, there’s a case to be made that he’s already won the first three contests, and he should do no worse than second in South Carolina.
He will then head into Super Tuesday on March 3

If you didn't already know that Joe Biden supporters are becoming an endangered species, you will now after watching this new CNN clip. A reporter on location at one of the caucus sites in Nevada on Saturday found the single Biden voter who was apparently so lonely that she went to sit and caucus with the Elizabeth Warren voters instead.(Snip for tweet) As the reporter explained, for a candidate to be viable at this particular precinct in Sparks, Nevada, he or she needs at least 16 votes. Warren was just shy of viability with 15 votes, so the Biden voter went over with the assist.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s popularity has ebbed and flowed in the early presidential caucuses and primaries, so why pick on her now? Ideas have consequences, and many of Ms. Warren’s most controversial and dangerous are being advanced by other far-left and even “mainstream” candidates.
Win or lose the nomination, Ms. Warren’s ideas will keep rattling around, suggests author David Bahnsen.
Her flawed diagnoses of America’s problems and her batty policy proposals have influenced not just socialist Bernie Sanders, but most of the Democratic field. Survive as a candidate or not, even Ms. Warren’s wackiest plans seem destined to live on through other extreme candidates and even in some corners of polite society.

Michael Bloomberg has a China problem, and his Democratic opponents, the media, and President Trump should harp on it relentlessly: Bloomberg’s accommodating stance toward China contradicts the emerging foreign-policy consensus on China, as well as the plain evidence before our eyes.
For decades, the conventional wisdom in Washington was that China’s economic liberalization would lead to political liberalization. It was always odd that this theory caught on. The same theory had been au courant in Central and Eastern Europe in the 1980s, and in the end political revolution proceeded economic liberalization there. Nevertheless, Western policymakers clung to the notion that rising fortunes would create a Chinese middle class

Dear Mr. Bloomberg, or may I call you Mike?
So, Wednesday didn’t quite go according to plan, did it?
You’ve invested $400 million dollars in the biggest, fastest, shiniest campaign toy that money can buy. You’ve moved from zero to competitive in all the polls. But for far too much of the time on that debate stage, you still wound up looking and sounding like a guy who just fell off the pumpkin truck.
We know, you’re a billionaire, and super smart, to boot. You are accustomed to people telling you that you’re the brightest, richest, funniest and best-looking guy in the room. I get it.

Minnesota attorney general Keith Ellison, the former congressman from Minnesota who gave us examples of how to treat women, has tweeted that the "Bernie Bros," that rabid group of Bernie Sanders–supporters that seem like a branch of Antifa, has tweeted that, no, they are merely passionate and as gentle as he:
"I have never seen @BernieSanders supporters being unusually mean or rude," Ellison tweeted. "Can someone send me an example of a 'Bernie Bro' being bad. Also, are we holding all candidates responsible for the behavior of some of their supporters? Waiting to hear."

Donald Trump's rule changes the so-called "public charge" rule that withholds green cards from immigrants dependent on government services. Federal immigration law says that immigrants desiring permanent legal status can be denied if they are likely to become a "public charge."
Previously the government defined "public charge" as anyone receiving cash benefits. Those getting food stamps or housing assistance were exempt. The rule change means that green cards will only go to those who are free of dependency on government.

“History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce,” Karl Marx said. We can be forgiven for assuming he had the outrageous behavior of the Deep State in mind.
It was tragic when it became apparent that the FBI, CIA and other government agencies abused their powers to interfere in the 2016 presidential election and try to help Hillary Clinton win. Now it is farce that some of the same agencies are up to their old tricks again in the 2020 election.
The evidence of foul play comes via two of the strangest newspaper stories ever published.

I’ve been enthusiastic about Mike Bloomberg’s race for president from its inception, partly on the theory that he was best positioned to rescue and represent the Democratic Party’s moderate wing. (Snip)Wednesday’s debate left Sanders unscathed. Nothing and nobody touched him. The Democratic Party’s riskiest bet is now its likeliest.
I say this as someone who wrote, a little earlier than most, that Sanders had the best chance of winning the nomination, and that he has just as serious a shot at winning the presidency as Donald Trump did four years earlier.

TORONTO — Emergency backup goalie Dave Ayres made eight saves in relief of Carolina's two injured netminders in the Hurricanes' 6-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.
Ayres, who works as a Zamboni driver for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, was forced into action midway through the second period after Carolina's James Reimer and Petr Mrazek were injured. The Hurricanes were leading 3-1 when the 42-year-old Ayres took over. Warren Foegele scored twice, Martin Necas had a goal and an assist, and Lucas Wallmark, Nino Niederreiter and Sebastian Aho also scored for Carolina.

LAS VEGAS – Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is the winner of the Nevada caucuses, according to a Fox News projection. But rival Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden sought to portray himself as Sanders' chief rival as results showed him in second place.
"You all did it for me now, now we go to South Carolina and I’m going to take this back!" Biden told supporters gathered at a union hall in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
After Biden suffered disappointing fourth and fifth place finishes in the overwhelmingly white Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary, a stronger perfomance in Nevada's much more diverse electorate was a necessity for the former vice president.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor said she is concerned the Supreme Court is going out of its way to help the Trump administration.
The high court voted along ideological lines on Friday to grant the Trump administration's demand for an emergency request to stay an injunction in an Illinois case regarding the restriction of low-income immigrants from entering the United States. Sotomayor wrote in an opinion that her conservative colleagues on the Supreme Court, who have the majority, are “putting a thumb on the scale in favor of” the Trump administration.

Kenne Brown and his come-from-nowhere underdog team had just won the first state baseball championship for Sanford’s Seminole High School in nearly three decades.
Brown, in only his first season on the job, had taken a fractured program and molded and meshed it into a true team filled with grit and guts and chemistry and camaraderie. And now, to the shock of everyone associated with the program, Coach Brown — the beloved Coach Brown — has been fired for being happy that day eight months ago.
Exuberantly happy.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Saturday celebrated his big Nevada caucus win with supporters in San Antonio, Texas, declaring that the American people are “sick and tired of a president who lies all of the time.”Multiple media outlets on Saturday evening called the Nevada race for the socialist senator, and he celebrated with supporters in San Antonio: (Tweet) “I’m delighted to bring you some pretty good news. I think all of you know we won the popular vote in Iowa, we won the New Hamshire primary, and according to three networks and the AP, we have now won the Nevada caucus,” he said

Many lawmakers around the country welcomed in the new year by pursuing legislation that would severely curtail the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.
Meanwhile, law-abiding citizens began 2020 just as they ended 2019—by showing repeatedly just how instrumental that right is to the security of a free state.
According to almost every major study on the issue, Americans use their firearms defensively between 500,000 and 3 million times each year. Even if we assume the lower end of this range, it means an incredible number of times that Americans relied on the Second Amendment—not government getting there on time—to protect their inalienable rights.
