President Trump is about to get the biggest rally of his presidency – but it won’t be in the United States.Trump’s first state visit to India this week will be packed with pomp and parades, starting with Monday’s 14-mile motorcade through Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, the stronghold of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has promised to cram the route with throngs of supporters. Then the two will hold a 100,000-person rally at Motera Stadium, the city’s brand-new cricket grounds – the world’s largest. The president and First Lady Melania Trump will visit the Taj Mahal that evening, then travel to New Delhi for a day of ceremonial meetings,

Why #1? Does 1.3 billion people freely electing a government of their choice scare you? Are you a Democrat??

I think #1 means dangerous. That's the same feeling I got.

Sorry for the second post. But I am more scared of a Deep State Secret Service agent - and have been for the last three years!

I agree that this sounds like a security nightmare. Given the proximity to areas packed with jihadists and how easily they could melt into the huge crowds, I'm not sure how the Secret Service and Indian security forces could completely control everything. This is definitely worrisome.

I agree with poster #1. How do you control millions of people when you have a 💲multi million💲dollar reward (issued by the Iranians) on your head. I pray for our president and First Ladys safety.

While I am concerned for Trump's safety, I trust he knows more about that than anyone. What I am most impressed with is his devotion to America's welfare, his courage and stamina in making this trip, and his astuteness in supporting democracy in India... whose neighbors are not, not democracies. What a great president we have!

I will pray for his safety, as always. The optics on this will be amazing. I work with some contractors in India and they seem to like Trump in general over there.
We have a ton of Indians in America. I hope they vote for President Trump.

This will be a hell of an occasion. President Trump and Prime Minister Modi will have some quality time together. Relations between the two countries will become ever stronger. Modi has a lot of mouths to feed economically and I am sure that his discussions with Trump will be very focused but positive. I traveled to India extensively while assigned to a World Bank project post 9/11 and found that the Indians have hearts of gold. Unlike many liberal Americans, they are very respectful and have manners. They will come out by the millions to see Trump for themselves in person. It will be hard for the msm to cover the parade while concealing the sheer numbers of onlookers from us.
But, agree with other commenters that among the millions along the parade route will be some very bad people who are not from there. This is a worry. I hope both Presidents plan on riding the 14-mile parade route in the Popemobile. May God protect both of them.

India is an ally worth having. It is the bulwark in southern Asia that keeps Middle Eastern insanity from spreading that direction. My experiences in India square with #10's comments.

If you are a praying person, please pray for the President and First Lady during this visit. What concerns me is the Deep State and their visceral hatred of him. If they do see that they are being taken down, they may opt for an ultimate solution. God forbid, but we must be aware of their treacherous past and guard against any possibility. So many people close to the President have not been loyal and I am concerned that someone around him in his security detail could be a danger. God protect him.

The state visit is one thing, the parade in a foreign country with millions of people is quite another. I see nothing but bad things that could happen by doing this. It might make for a really neat photo op, but why take the risk.

My immediate reaction was the same as #1, fear for Trump and our country. India is still a partially 3rd world country with large Muslim as well as communist groups. How can they secure a rally of this size?

#10, I also worked for the World Bank and worked with people from India. They were well educated and extremely prepared for the task they had. I enjoyed my years at the World Bank.

Trump traveling to India makes me nervous, but then again so does his traveling to California. it's not like there's any shortage of Bernie Bros over here. [Heck, JFK was shot by a Communist in Texas.] Plus India's special forces are very, very capable. It's one thing not being able to cover all threats everywhere in a country of India's physical size and enormous population. It's another when you know what you need to protect, where, and have control of the route. I still pray for the safety of the President and the First Lady, but I also expect they will be well protected.

Maybe he can get India to stop calling me about my computer, my taxes or my Social number. That would be a successful meeting.

Suggested prayer based on Scripture's teaching, The Full Armor of God: “Living Lord, President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are yours. May they wear the helmet of salvation and hope, carry the shield of faith and your word, hold the sword of the Spirit, buckle the belt of truth around their waists, put on the breastplate of righteousness, and walk with the boots of readiness and peace. They are yours. Amen.” ~ Anonymous (Ephesians 6:10-20)
