Justice Sonia Sotomayor said she is concerned the Supreme Court is going out of its way to help the Trump administration.
The high court voted along ideological lines on Friday to grant the Trump administration's demand for an emergency request to stay an injunction in an Illinois case regarding the restriction of low-income immigrants from entering the United States. Sotomayor wrote in an opinion that her conservative colleagues on the Supreme Court, who have the majority, are “putting a thumb on the scale in favor of” the Trump administration.

I guess she can't see how she and hers acted when they were the five. When votes go against her she accuses the five of cheating and "putting the thumb" on the scale to rule for political reasons rather than giving them the benefit of the doubt that they just believed it was the way the action should be adjudicated.

I’m sure she will do her best to keep
everything on the straight and narrow, since she, being a “wise” Latina, has such lofty moral principles. Okay, lady; watch for that thumb, whoever it belongs to. We can’t have conservatives getting their way. Keep that baseball bat handy!

Who cares what she thinks. Her being on the Supreme Court brings it's creditability down. I often wondered if she had a REAL law degree.

I wonder what Barr will have to say about this statement? He doesn't have any problem stating his opinion on Trump's twitter!

I wonder how the "wise" one will fair after a couple more Trump SCOTUS appointments when she is left with a 7 - 2 balance and she and Kagan are the only liberals left. With a bit of good fortune, she will never again see a liberal SCOTUS.
It is always pathetic when liberals think that THEIR jumping on the scale with both feet is OK but Conservatives following the law are somehow tilting the balance. The law IS the balance. Courts should be seeking solutions that are the most limited in scope and that leave existing law alone as much as possible. Of course if liberals did that, they would accomplish NONE of their agenda since everything they want requires a breaking of existing law and they don't have the Congressional/Presidential power to do it the right way.
Trump follows the law. Sotomayor's complaint is that the other justices won't overturn the law to stop him from doing things SHE doesn't like.

Come on! It's not the "Thumb on the scale for Trump", its the "Thumb on the scale FOLLOWING THE CONSTITUTION".
I'm tired of leftists who refuse to follow the Laws of The Land! Idiots.

I don't recall ever reading about other Supreme Court Justices accusing their peers of being dishonest. They keep those criticisms private. Isn't there a minority opinion written by the losing side? I thought that was where you expressed your difference of opinion.

Thus utters the wise sexist, racist. They ruled on the injunction, not the case itself. She is prevaricating to fuel Bernie Bros to new violence as is the 'progressive' way.

So, because Two LIBERAL courts were going against Trump, the Supreme Court (now with a Conservative Majority) should not go against them! HA! Nice try. Elections have consequences! For years Conservatives have been slapped down by the 9th Circuit and the Supreme Court. Now it's Our Turn to win a few. Read it and Weep Liberals!

Well now isn’t this something. She and her friend Kagan on the Supreme Court as a thank you from obama. We don’t even know if they are qualified to be on the court
Both these women should be impeached.

Typical leftist projection. The 4 leftist Supreme Court justices always seem to rule in lock step with one another without regard to the actual constitutionality of the issue. They are truly political in their decisions.

Her nomination as a Supreme Court Justice was acheived with Nobama's proverbial "thumb on the scale".
As she now sits on the Court, I respect her position.
As far as being a "wise" Latina, take your own personal agendas out of it, shut up, and read the Constitution.

Gee. A President who actually enforces existing law! Laws that democrats hate, but didn't change when they were in charge. They depended on the courts to block laws from being enforced.
Sotomayor has committed a gross dereliction of duty. She has no business saying what she did. She really should step down.

Uh, I believe that's what the American people want and the policy follows the Constitution nicely. Is that too complicated for a biased Obama appointee to comprehend? Or is that "comprendo?" to you?

RGB, Sotomayor, Breyer, Kagan and their "emergency goalie" Roberts have been putting their whole feet on the scale for decades.
A bit of rebalancing of the scales of justice is long overdue.
Cry me a river, leftist.

It takes a politicized Judge to recognize a political judge, in that respect Sotomayor has been “putting her thumb of the scale in favor of” leftist and liberal Democrat political positions ever since she arrived on the Supreme Court.

women of her ilk stick together. Kagan and Sotomayor...
Kagan never practiced law until she became Barack's Solicitor General. That, alone, is a disgrace.
making her a Supreme Court justice was an even bigger disgrace.

And on what side of the scale have you been placing your thumb comrade Sonia? Sotomayor is yet another example of Affirmative Action gone bad!
What's the difference between God and a judge? God doesn't think he's a judge.
