PHILADELPHIA — The Army and Navy academies are looking into hand signs flashed by students that can be associated with “white power” and were televised during the Army-Navy football game on Saturday, school officials said. Cadets at West Point and midshipmen at the Naval Academy in the stands both appeared to display the sign during the broadcast, officials with the two military academies told The Wall Street Journal. The gesture was seen during an ESPN broadcast segment. (Tweet) School officials are trying to determine what the hand signals were meant to convey, they said. “We’re looking into it,” Lt. Col.

After DJT flipped the coin he apparently flashed his usual white power hand signal. The army and navy (fiendish military) guys were simply responding. Could somebody please get me a press photo of a black guy "flashing" a white power hand sign ? Or do they just do Crips and Bloods?

So what? Black Power signaling has been in our faces ever since the ultimate affirmative action job was handed to the illegal Kenyan. I know that Whites are not officially allowed to fight back but let people have their hand signs if it makes them happy. If the military academies lower their standards along with the other "diverse" schools, America will soon fall from first place in the world in defensive ability. Is that what we want? Are we prepared to become a third world country because political correctness demands it?

I don't know what to make of this.
First, it bugs me that someone has nothing better to do than zoom in on cadets hands to see what they are doing, and immediately jump to the conclusion that a gesture that has meant OK for at least all of my life is now racist.
The gestures.could have been entirely innocent. Because its not like they were waving the gesture above their heads for everyone to see.
It could have been done intentionally just to trigger idiots.
I've been walking this planet for lose to 60 years. I'm off the opinion that overt racism pretty much died out with Archie Bunker.
Racism is so pervasive now that people have to redefine what it is, look highland low for anything that might adhere to an evolving definition, and even stage events to demonstrate that its out there. /S/

Is there an official list somewhere of prohibited hand signs/signals that we can consult to protect ourselves, or is this stuff just made up on the fly by the media so that they can play the game of gottcha?

I clicked on a twitter link in the article and it took me to some black guy's twitter page. He was obviously the racist, but must believe the lie that "I can't be a racist because I'm black." His racist diatribe and the news propaganda are and have been fanning the flames of racism. Obama was a racist divider too.

WHAT a load of sad, pathetic garbage.
The insane, hate-crazed leftists claim that the ages old "OK" symbol with forefinger touching thumb for the O, and the other fingers splayed making the K, is somehow a "white power symbol", that is BS, pure and simple.
Haters can claim that ANYTHING is a hate symbol, but that doesn't make is so. How long before making the sign of the cross on your chest is a "white power hate symbol"?

OK, in almost every case where I have seen people make a fuss about that hand signal, it was stupid.
However, having watched the video it is clear that two cadets did something incredibly stupid. In both cases they were holding their hands in a way which is not "OK". In the first instance, someone else noticed what they were doing and reached in to push their hand out of the camera (clearly that other person thought the cadet was doing something stupid).
I hate to think that our military academies might admit candidates who are stupid enough to advertise on national television that they are white supremacists, which suggests to me that the two cadets who did this were trying to start a fuss. Unfortunately, I know that some white supremacists are bright enough to get themselves into one of the military academies and then foolish enough to think they can get away with advertising it. The thing is, if the media would make less of a fuss about white supremacists, they would continue to disappear. This sort of fuss allows people who would otherwise be ashamed to express their opinion to think there are more of them than there are.

So the military that celebrates Black History Month, Latino History month (which isn't actually a month but a mid-month to mid-month; lmao) and Gay Pride month, is going to protect us from White Power hand signs. Anybody see Alice at the game?

Guy is drinking a soda. Crushes the container. Drops it.
Hardly a white power hand sign ~ maybe a nasty reference to the evil dwarf Mike Bloomberg of New York City.... who banned extra large soda cups.

I guess the clenched fist, held over your head, like the little Hogg boy did, and like many sports figures use when they're on a podium, is racist or is it facist? Lets start complaining every time we see it.

My son, in his mid 40's, says it is part of the circle game. You make a circle with your thumb and finger, put it on someone else's shoulder. The object is to get them to look at it. If they look, they lose. In the photo I saw, that is exactly what the guys are doing. I think it is a guy thing and has been around since before "white power".

It’s called the “Circle Game” and has nothing to do with racism, just a goofy game young men play. Some of you here must hold our military academies in low esteem -like the Left does - if you think our midshipmen and cadets would display racist hand signs on live TV.

That hand signal means A lot of things. I watched a show on the History a couple of years ago on the Autobahaun. You give that sign to people who drive like idiots. It means you're driving like an arsehole. I use it now instead of flipping people.

Political Correctness is stupidity. This obsession with hand signs is taking stupidity off the scale. My God, what IS a white power hand sign? Are we going to make a major issue if someone claims picking your nose means the extermination of black people? Who establishes the rules for this craziness?

For the sake of an academic type argument, let’s assume it is actually as alleged, a white power sign/signal/gesture, ok??
So what?
Would the same offended folks care If it was a black power sign/signal/gesture?
They would say we are being racist by calling attention to it.
Folks need to worry about many things in life, this isn’t one of them.

Young people have all kinds of hand signs; give me a break! There's so much stupidity in our country these days. There was time when leaders would have waved off such silliness as wasting their time. Now, they investigate everything, just to please a foolish minority. People they know are making things up for a narrative.

Hand signs mean different thing in different places. There was a TV ad a few years ago for a multinational bank that boasts its "local knowledge." It points out that, throughout South America, the "okay" or "swab-o" sign means "Everything's good." That's apart from Brazil, where it's considered very rude and can get you beat up.

I can't figure out what hand signals they are seeing. But if someone held up a sign 'Death to All Infidels' none of them would complain.
