A 65-year-old prominent Democratic Party donor was arrested on Tuesday after a third man overdosed at his West Hollywood home but survived. Vice President Mike Pence called for the United Auto Workers and General Motors—at loggerheads in a strike that started Monday—to unite in calling on Congress to approve a new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada.

Public school districts across the nation, from Washington to Virginia, are assigning children to schools based on race and family income. They claim to oppose segregation, a practice that was outlawed in the 1950s. Perversely, however, these districts are reviving it.

At their third primary debate, nearly all of the Democratic presidential contenders offered full-throated support for gun control. In the very recent past, gun control measures bowed to prudence by respecting the rights and expectations of law-abiding gun owners—even the Clinton “assault weapons ban” grandfathered weapons and magazines manufactured and purchased before the ban took effect.
Now, however, the rhetoric has shifted and become even more radical and uncompromising.
For example, supposed moderate Joe Biden said, “Over 90 percent of the American people think we have to get assault weapons off the street—period. And we have to get buybacks and get them out of their basements.”
OPINION — The first three Democratic presidential debates — five, if you count the double features in June and July — are, thankfully, in the political rearview mirror. It turns out that despite the hours and hours spent debating, and then the hours and hours talking about the debates, and then the inevitable polls trying to pick winners and losers, the political landscape hasn’t changed much.
A Sept. 13-15 Morning Consult poll of Democratic primary voters done after the latest debate found Joe Biden still in the lead at 32 percent. Bernie Sanders was in second place at 20 percent with Elizabeth Warren closing in at 18 percent.

Abortion intentionally ends the lives of human beings. We were reminded of this in a particularly grisly way over the weekend, when the remains of 2,246 aborted fetuses were discovered inside the home of former abortionist Ulrich George Klopfer. His family discovered the medically preserved remains on Klopfer’s property in Illinois after he passed away earlier this month.
He performed abortions for nearly four decades in northern Indiana — primarily in South Bend but also in Fort Wayne and Gary — and had his medical license indefinitely suspended in 2016 after having violated laws governing abortion reporting, proper record-keeping, and safety standards during abortion procedures.

The link is to an article by Martha Waggoner about the robbery and murder on 6/5/19 of a 23-year-old man named Avery Scurlock during a late-night hookup with a stranger. Though Mr. Scurlock is now being claimed as a "trans" martyr, the article contents suggest that it is by no means certain that the young man suffered such a simplistic and radical dislocation of sex identity as transgenderism or, more correctly, transsexualism.
Avery did not identify as female to his family or friends and had told his mother he was "gay."
Democrat Pete Buttigieg's recent defense of unrestricted abortion, suggesting that "a lot" of the scriptures says "life begins with breath," came in for some well deserved ridicule from people who actually own Bibles. Mayor Pete was willing to admit that others may interpret these verses differently, because his real argument was that the only person's opinion that matters "is the woman making the decision."

Max Stier, the man behind a new sexual misconduct allegation against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, was not only a former classmate of Kavanaugh’s at Yale but also a foe during the Bill Clinton impeachment trial.
Stier, 53, served on the team defending Clinton, while Kavanaugh served on Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr’s team that was investigating Clinton. As Yale Daily News put it:

Barack Obama said in 2008 that if he were elected, he would “launch the most sweeping ethics reform in U.S. history. We will make government more open, more accountable and more responsive to the problems of the American people.”

Corey Lewandowski is a thug and a jerk. A married man, he reportedly had an affair with a fellow Trump campaign staffer, one whom he allegedly treated like garbage afterward. He found himself ousted from the campaign entirely after he forcefully seized a female reporter, resulting in a simple battery charge. Lewandowski fell under the scrutiny of special counsel Robert Mueller, who ultimately declined to prosecute him or any other Trump campaigner with obstruction of justice.
Naturally, House Democrats subpoenaed this clown for their first testimony of their de facto impeachment proceedings against President Trump. The results were just what you'd expect.

MSNBC PoliticsNation host Al Sharpton mourned the passing of journalist Cokie Roberts on Tuesday by sending out a tweet with pictures of the still-living journalist Christiane Amanpour.
Sharpton tweeted, "Saddened to hear of the passing of legendary journalist Cookie [sic] Roberts. Here is a Easter Sunday special we did in 2011. May she Rest In Peace," along with several pictures of Amanpour. Aside from the obvious misidentification of the deceased, Sharpton misspelled Roberts's name.
Critics were quick to point out Sharpton's errors, and he deleted the tweet.

A Justice Department inspector general’s report is the driving force for possible criminal charges against former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, as his attorneys and the department square off in a legal and media showdown.
The inspector general’s 20-month-old findings sparked an ongoing Justice investigation. It said Mr. McCabe lied to fellow agents and cast blame on colleagues for his orchestrated press leak.
His legal team lost an appeal to Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen to avert criminal charges that may come out of the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Columbia. Defense attorney Michael R. Bromwich floated an unconfirmed rumor that the grand jury refused to indict.
NEW YORK — The number and rate of abortions across the United States have plunged to their lowest levels since the procedure became legal nationwide in 1973, according to new figures released Wednesday.
The report from the Guttmacher Institute, a research group that supports abortion rights, counted 862,000 abortions in the U.S. in 2017. That’s down from 926,000 tallied in the group’s previous report for 2014, and from just over 1 million counted for 2011.
Guttmacher is the only entity that strives to count all abortions in the U.S., making inquiries of individual providers. Federal data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention excludes California, Maryland and New Hampshire.

What else does one do at a press conference? The lies were understandable because he was making a political statement against capitalism and against America, two of his favorite bugaboos. Yet is it ever all right for the Pope to lie? I shall leave that matter for the theologians. I do wonder, though, who is hearing the Pope’s confession these days?

Rarely does a story implode as spectacularly as the New York Times’ latest effort to resurrect the claim that Justice Brett Kavanaugh was a teenage sexual predator.
By now, you know the facts: The Times published an excerpt from a forthcoming book alleging that another woman suffered the same form of abuse and objectification from Kavanaugh that was alleged by another accuser, Deborah Ramirez. No sooner had the universe of liberal political observers and politicians worked themselves up into a frenzy than the story fell apart. The woman whose uncorroborated experience supposedly substantiated Ramirez’s uncorroborated assertions wasn’t even the one making these accusations. Rather, they came from a Washington D.C.
Back in October 2016, when everybody was telling us that Hillary Clinton couldn't lose, Donald Trump said: "I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election... if I win." And the Democrats all lost their minds. How un-American! What an outrage!

Far-left California Governor Gavin Newsom commuted sentences of 21 violent criminals including 4 murderers with life sentences without possibility of parole. One of the murderers was arrested in 1993 for fatally shooting a man during a carjacking and another was incarcerated in 1991 for killing an armed guard during a robbery.A man who served 31 years of 2 life sentences for a double murder in 1988 was also given clemency by Newsom. SacBee reported: Gov. Gavin Newsom is commuting the sentences of 21 violent offenders incarcerated in California prisons, including four men who have convictions related to homicides in Sacramento County, the governor’s office announced Friday.

A New Rochelle Police Department spokesman said the crash did not appear suspicious, but remains under investigation. Two pedestrians suffered minor injuries as a result of the wreck, the spokesman said.
