President Donald Trump vowed not to let Democratic-run California cities “destroy themselves” over the rampant homelessness that is plaguing them. The president suggested the creation of an “individual task force” to address the problem in California cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco, speaking to reporters as he traveled to the Golden State for a series of fundraisers.“We can’t let Los Angeles, San Francisco, and numerous other cities destroy themselves by allowing what’s happening,” Trump told reporters Tuesday aboard Air Force One, Fox News reported.

OK, but don’t expect us hard working taxpayers in flyover country to bail those cities out or to pay for whatever remedy this task force comes up with.

Meaning what ? Federal task forces usually mean BAIL OUTS THAT DON'T WORK EITHER. The national debt goes to 42 trillion dollars and we still have fat homeless people and fat politicians. Sooner or later there is a war our children have to fight. Fix Your Local Problems As You See Fit. I'll help deal with mine.

Although I disagree with how CA is handling their homeless situation (as well as several other cities around the country), I also don't think government has all the answers to this problem. People have to WANT help before they will accept it. How many of these people actually want change?
I imagine that vets, disabled people, drug addicts, and the mentally ill make up a part of this population. Some of those people may be able to be rehabilitated; some won't. Let's focus on those who do want help FIRST!

If I had to pay nearly a $million for a house, I'd be homeless too.

This is a tricky one. If Trump does nothing they will say he has no compassion. If he puts OUR $ into the mess California, in its arrogance, has created, they will claim it isn't ENOUGH $ or he isn't capable;e.....either way, the blame will suddenly fall on Trump's shoulders.

A man who can solve problems is going directly to California voters and telling them that their government refuses to solve problems.
I think this is a good thing. I expect Trump to begin addressing problems like this in deep blue areas of the country everywhere.
Even if he does not succeed in solving these crises, he is shedding some embarrassing light on the local leadership.

I agree more with #7.
Lots of people are upset by the blight of homeless living along the freeway underpass, along the sidewalks on bridges over the freeways, and in many other areas. Orange County moved an estimated 2,000 people out of the Santa Ana Riverbed area along the freeway there.
In other parts of the city, they are in motor homes parked on city streets. It's rampant, and not just in downtown Los Angeles, or skid row area either.
Trump at least will start looking for solutions, and it leads up to the election where the local politicians won't be doing anything about it.
And, some of those will be House members who sat around talking about everything else except how to solve problems in their districts, like homelessness.
Time to take back the House!

My initial reaction to this was: Screw 'em. LA, SF, Sacramento and these others created the problem by becoming sanctuary cities, and turning a blind eye to the crime and drug use. This is what you get with one party rule. But after reading the article, I do understand there are some very decent Conservatives in CA that are doing the best they can and deserve better than what they are getting. So, for their sake, we need to at least investigate this issue.

Can you embarrass a liberal? I don’t think it’s possible. Plus, liberals can do anything, like ruin beautiful cities, and get away with it.
Thank God for President Trump and his willingness to go directly to the problem and bring much needed attention to it.

Trump goes to Ca. and revokes their car mileage scam, and to form a task force to clean up the homeless mess created by the Democrats. It's in your face, Democrats. The Hollywood and tech crowd must be embarrassed to be living on millions while all those people are on the streets. There is your income inequality. Why haven't the Democrats invited the homeless into their homes?

I firmly believe CA exuberated this problem by encouraging sanctuary and giving freebees to everybody, and writing anti-housing laws, etc. for the sole purpose of conning the feds to bail them out with free money.

Far from being "fed up", California cities are hell bent on creating more homeless squatters.
