Democrat presidential candidate Marianne Williamson came out against using nuclear energy, which experts say should be used to combat climate change, on Thursday during a climate change town hall on MSNBC, urging students to not use "hard data" when thinking about nuclear energy.
Williamson made the remarks while answering a question from a college student who wanted to know why she thought that nuclear energy was problematic.
"Well I know Germany had said at one point 'we're just going no nuclear,' but then when they said no nuclear there was a problem because they had a hard time keeping up with the other standards they agreed to,"

Both The Washington Post and The New York Times report that an intelligence official who worked in the White House filed the complaint Aug. 12 after growing alarmed about the details of a phone call that President Donald Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, citing two people familiar with the matter.
Trump and Zelensky, who took office in May, spoke by phone July 25. The Ukrainian government released a read-out of the phone call that said the two leaders spoke about corruption investigations “that have hampered interaction between Ukraine and the USA.”

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) is formally asking the top House Republican to denounce an ad from a GOP-aligned political group that showed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-N.Y.) face go up in flames.

The Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency Thursday announced that there will be “one, and only one” national fuel standard, a move made to cut the costs of vehicles and bar California from making stricter standards.
In a release and in a briefing today, the department said, “This action will help ensure that there will be one, and only one, set of national fuel economy and greenhouse gas emission standards for vehicles.”
The department, in the release shared in advance with Secrets, also took a shot at California which will lose its waiver to require different fuel standards, a model followed by a dozen other states.
If you spend enough time on Twitter or read enough opinion columns from the left, you might get the impression that Democrats and progressives have grown dissatisfied with Barack Obama and his presidency.

The mainstream media paints Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a dangerous sexual predator. Yet, every story they push falls apart immediately. Last weekend, The New York Times had to correct an article that claimed Kavanaugh flashed another woman when he attended Yale. The correction stated that the woman doesn’t remember such an incident and refused to be interviewed about the matter.
Ultimately, the correction doesn’t matter. Kavanaugh is perceived as a sexual predator and this latest hack job only reinforces that smear. The facts can’t change that.

In a season of grotesque sexual misbehavior by (as always) men of the Left, one sorta wonders how it ever came to be. Not that long ago, the women of the Left assured us that Bill Clinton's misbehavior in the Oval Office was "just sex" and no big deal. It was a sixties attitude — free love and get-out-of-our-bedrooms and such. In that spirit at least one female reporter volunteered a gratitudinous freebie to the then-president for his, uh, services to the cause.
No trace of that attitude attaches to #MeToo, the latest version of the Left's complex and contradictory approach to relations between the sexes.

A crew member who was on the dive boat that caught fire off the Southern California coast earlier this month reportedly sued the boat’s owner and the dive charter company, claiming the boat was not properly maintained and employees lacked proper training.
The Pacific Coast Times reported that Ryan Sims, the crew member, claimed he was trapped with other employees when the fire broke out on the boat, called the Conception. He reportedly claimed he was forced to jump from the top deck into the water and broke one of his legs in three places.
