Former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio announced on Sunday that he will be seeking another term as sheriff in Maricopa County. The announcement follows Arpaio being pardoned by President Donald Trump two years ago after he was convicted on charges of criminal contempt related to his controversial work in law enforcement. “After consultation and approval from my wife of 61 years, Ava, I have decided to run to be reelected Sheriff,” the 87-year-old Arpaio announced in a Sunday news release. “Watch out world! We are back!”
Former President Obama on Monday announced a new initiative in a campaign to combat partisan gerrymandering. "Training is at the heart of organizing. It’s why I’ve always made it a priority – from my 2008 campaign until now," Obama said in a tweet announcing Redistricting U, part of the All on the Line campaign. Redistricting U will send trainers throughout the country to offer free, in-person instruction and help to volunteers involved in the redistricting process in states.

According to the report, published Sunday by Axios, Trump suggested “multiple times” to national security officials that detonating a nuclear bomb inside an approaching hurricane could “disrupt it.”
The report cited conversations with sources who heard Trump’s comments and were briefed on a National Security Council (NSC) memo. Trump reportedly posed the question during a hurricane briefing at the White House.

Macron’s stunt didn’t just catch President Trump off guard. At least some leaders of other G-7 nations apparently weren’t told in advance about Zarif’s visit, either.
Macron disagrees with the Trump administration’s tough policies towards Iran, and that’s okay. He also wants to promote dialogue with the mullahs, and that’s okay too.

The Cherokee Nation announced Thursday that it intends to appoint a delegate to the US House of Representatives, asserting for the first time a right promised to the tribe in a nearly 200-year-old treaty with the federal government.
