Gillette ‘Shifting Spotlight from Social
Issues’ After Anti-Masculinity Ad Disaster

Original Article

Shaving company Gillette says it is “shifting the spotlight from social issues to local heroes,” after the company’s brief foray into the SJW-style demonization of masculinity drew a massive backlash from customers. The company landed itself in hot water last year when it ran a #MeToo-themed ad borrowing language from far-left anti-male feminists, depicting the abuse of women by men and encouraging male Gilette customers to “shave their toxic masculinity.” Other attempts to demonstrate the company’s “woke” credentials included an ad showing a dad teaching his transitioning female-to-male child how to shave.

Anyone know an alternative to Tide that isn't heavily perfumed? I tried Persil but the smell lingered for days...not good.

Gillette's admonition to their customers to “shave their toxic masculinity” has apparently resulted in a severe shave to Gillette's profits but maybe the anti-male feminists will purchase Gillette razors. They likely need them. Gillette sure won't see ME again. I'm SURE that a MEDAL is waiting for the Gilllete employee whose idea THIS stupidity was.

Back in 2013 Mrs C bought me a safety razor similar to the one advertised by the Pawn Stars guy. It was horrible cheap plastic carp and cut me to ribbons, but it came with 100 Egyptian blades that work just fine. I found an old razor from the 1940's and have been using it ever since. I dont need their overpriced triple edged (or more) razors and when my Egyptian blades run out I'll find something not Gillette. I am really tired of all this phoney virtue signaling.

I just want a razor to cut my beard, and for decades that razor was Gillette. But this ad did not address a good shave, it was just a "we are your daddy and this is how you need to think so you can 'grow up'". Most offensive. I went with Harry's, got a better shave, and will make it a point to avoid Gillette and any other P&G products that I am aware of. I would feel better if I were to learn that the snowflake CEO of that company were fired and the ad company forever ostracized, but I still will never return as their customer.

These people making these knuckle headed decisions do so because they honestly believe that everyone thinks like they do. Being leftists virtue signaling social warriors they are confident that theirs is the only viewpoint and, therefore, whatever they feels, they act on which is pure stupidity. The strategy of using a company to virtue signal is just dumb, but we know leftists are not known for their smarts. They will gleefully ruin their brand to make themselves feel superior. Bad business plan because most people in the country aren’t the progressive drones that they are. Thanks for the list, #3. I have taken note and will shop, accordingly.

Everyone is entitled to one mistake and this was a big one. If P&G has learned about the perils of "wokeness" from this debacle then I see no reason to throw the entire corporation overboard. I hope it was also a lesson to other companies out there contemplating similar ideas. All these companies need to keep in mind who ALL their customers are when making these decisions. We'll see whether the lesson was learned.

Memo to Gillette: Serves you right for mixing politics with business. Back in the 80's, I realized highly advertised name-brands had priced themselves out of my budget. Store brands were affordable and satisfactory. Then came Aldi's. Their prices are way better than anything any other store carries. Aldi's laundry pods have a plesant smell, but it lingers longer than for Tide pods. Another thing, Aldi's does not put their pods in child-proof containers yet. As an arthritic grandmother, there isn't always a child around who can open those child-proof containers. Lots of people have ineffective washing machines nowadays, and we have the gummint regulators to thank.

The Gillette division of P&G has gone completely bonkers! It is not enough that they have gotten ridiculous with their multi-blade razors (up to five blades and counting). Now they are promoting the propaganda of misandrous radical feminists. That might explain why their product produces ever greater "razor burn" with little to no increase in shaving performance. Any day now, they will come out with a ten-blade razor that will give the mother of all razor burns!

Well let's see if Coombe will stand by his comment "a price worth paying" for his SJW stance when another couple billion is 'shaved' off of P&G profits. When you cater to a 1 percenter over real paying customers you will loose. I've seen some really dumb ads in the last few years that make me scratch my head and wonder what suppose smart person really made that ad or are they stuck in the third grade concept of silly pranks and jokes. The advertising company and person Gillett hired was a bad choice. When I see an ad with a targeted race or exclusion of white persons I turn away and say I hope they can make their profit off of that group because I'm not in their count for profits and write that product off. Gillett and P&G deserve their losses because the buying public who pay attention just walked away forever.

I shop at Amazon. I know their politics, and don't care. They don't specifically target their core demographic and demonize them. I don't shop at Dick's. Hunters WERE part of their core demographic, and they decided they would rather be woke. I won't even walk into their store. Gillette? They decided to call nearly 100% of their customers garbage. When I see an ad from a company attempting to normalize the abnormal, or one that insults / belittles / demeans my (admittedly old-fashioned) values, I think twice about buying what they sell and won't if I can find an acceptable alternative. Increasing Australia’s annual humanitarian intake to 44,000 by 2023 would bring an extra $37.7bn to the economy in the next 50 years, a report from Oxfam Australia has said. The increase–building on the current intake of 18,750 a year–would also sustain an average of 35,000 jobs a year, and increase demand for goods and services by $18.2bn. The findings, by Deloitte Access Economics, were commissioned by Oxfam Australia and published in a report which called for the federal government to commit to the increase, and to also create a visa stream for 10,000 humanitarian family reunifications annually. “I think Australians generally would

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has unveiled a stretch of new wall on the southern border, saying it has completed at least 60 miles of new border wall in total. The new section of wall near San Luis, Arizona consists of an 18-foot steel bollard barrier. CBP says that a new triple-layered enforcement zone is more effective at deterring illegal entry than the former single 10-foot barrier. The agency says that it plans to build at least 450 miles of new border wall by the end of 2020, and has projects underway in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

A homeless man smiled during his arraignment Sunday morning on a series of “hate crime” attacks this month on random Manhattan pedestrians. Todd Lyons, 33, had been free on two previous assaults in The Bronx and Manhattan when cops suspect he committed as many as seven new attacks; all the victims in the new attacks are white. He appeared happy as he learned he’d been charged with felony and misdemeanor assault for three of those latest attacks. Law enforcement sources have told The Post that Lyons used his fists, or random found objects—including a brick and wood from a broken chair

Presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg praised late Sen. John McCain Sunday on the first anniversary of his passing, adding Republicans are “poorer as a party” without his presence. “You know, John McCain did a remarkable job of reaching out to people of different persuasions. He was very convincing to independents because he did not appear to be dogmatic and he really prided himself, I think, on openness—especially with the press,” the Indiana Democrat told reporters in New Hampshire, via The Hill. “I have taken a lot of lessons from that, even though my values and ideas are very different than his were,”

The Democrats are clearly losing confidence that their declared presidential candidates can beat President Trump in 2020. They tout polls showing that any of their top four candidates would win the general election were it held now, but only the most naïve take such hypothetical matchups seriously. Moreover, they can see that their leading candidate is so fuddled that he frequently forgets his talking points and even where he is on a given day, while his competitors are so far left of the mainstream that Trump would trounce them. This is why so many on the left have turned their desperate eyes to Michelle Obama.

Hillary Clinton, the Ma Barker of American politics, is still out hustling, still staying one step ahead of the law as she tries to weasel her way into the presidential sweepstakes. She says she isn’t running in 2020, but, as we know too well, truth is a fungible commodity to a Clinton. The signs don’t look good. She just announced a fundraiser for the DNC at her Washington D.C. mansion with tickets as high as $50,000 (scraps for the homeless in the dumpster out back). A couple of weekends ago she was at de Rothschild’s estate on Martha’s Vineyard -- go socialism! -- to celebrate Bill’s birthday

Now the #AmazonNightgown — a billowy, boho dress that retails for under $30 — has taken Instagram and New York City by storm.“The name cracks me up, but I am a huge fan,” said 28-year-old Katie Kennedy, who bought the light-blue version a few weeks ago.“I wear it weekly,” added the Upper East Sider. “On Friday, I showed it to the vice president of marketing at the firm I’m interning for this summer, and she bought four on the spot.”
An Honest Discussion about
Race in America

Obama's A.G., Eric Holder, challenged Americans to have an "honest" discussion about race. Obama and Holder are progressives who believe that America is unarguably racist. What Holder really wanted was a one-sided conversation to declare white Americans inherently racist. Holder wanted to further instill a victim mindset in blacks and use reparations to seduce blacks to continue voting for Democrats. In response to Holder's challenge, I am launching an honest discussion about race. Due to their war of words on YouTube, I became aware of an ongoing feud between black comedian Mo'Nique and black entertainment power brokers Oprah, Tyler Perry, and Steve Harvey.

"Climate change is a global emergency," Sen. Bernie Sanders declared, and on Thursday, he unveiled a $16.3 TRILLION plan -- that's Trillion with a "T," to fight climate change. According to Sanders' campaign website, he aims to reach 100 percent renewable energy for electricity and transportation by no later than 2030 and complete decarbonization by 2050 at latest. He would do this by "expanding the existing federal Power Marketing Administrations to build new solar, wind, and geothermal energy sources." A federal takeover, in other words. The four existing federal Power Marketing Administrations (PMAs) include the Bonneville Power Administration; Western Area Power Administration;

Progressives’ ghoulish glee over the death of an old man turned into barely constrained panic when, later that day, it was revealed that their heroine Ruth Bader Ginsberg was just treated for pancreatic cancer yet again. Their disgraceful joy at David Koch’s passing was yet another reminder of the harsh truth that leftists want you dead or enslaved. Koch’s sin was that he disagreed with liberals (though, in important ways, also with conservatives). For that, these cretins danced around like idiots celebrating his succumbing. And they’ll celebrate when you die too. Always believe people who tell you they hate you and want you dead. Oh, and never disarm.
