Why are working Americans funding abusive liberals at PBS? Back in November 2018 President Trump held a press conference following the 2018 midterm elections. During the presser PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor accused President Trump of being the leader of the White Nationalist party.(Photo) Of course, the hateful anti-Trump media completely ignored this outrageous statement. Trump immediately called her out — and then he called her a racist!

I wouldn't miss PBS if it fell through the floor. You can buy all the Sesame Street episodes you can eat and all you can carry on-line. I can watch Keeping Up Appearances on-line. I would really miss local programming and Antiques Roadshow, but hey, they'll be in syndication as soon as the hammer drops.

We have been asking this question for decades now. Not too awful bad in the 70's when my kids were young, but they have morphed into a government sanctioned and funded indoctrination tool for the socialists.

Indeed. I’d also like to know why PBS requires a subscription and monthly fee to access programs online. Why? Aren’t I already paying for PBS programs with my tax dollars? Pirates.

It is mind-boggling to watch liberals, especially young liberals, exuding what they believe is profound authority, intellect, and righteousness when, in reality, they don’t really have the wisdom of life’s experiences to be considered truly learned individuals; essentially, they espouse prepared political talking points.
The 30ish young woman referenced, Yamiche Alcindor, has been a frequent and, seemingly, much appreciated and enjoyed guest of Judy Woodruff on the PBS NewsHour. Attempts to watch the PBS NewsHour are infrequent and most often last only a few minutes because, this viewer profoundly disagrees with their proclamation, “For more than 40 years, millions of Americans and citizens of the world have turned to the PBS NewsHour for the solid, reliable reporting that has made it one of the most trusted news programs on television.” It is a stretch to describe and believe the PBS NewsHour as being “solid, reliable reporting.”

Time to cut 'em loose.
Well-heeled "sponsors", who spend large sums to support the arts, etc, have their company logo plus a voice-over, turns into a really a slick ad, featured prominently.
Good. But what these "corporate sponsors" do is advertise There's almost no competition , the only guys on the block. Saw the Koch Brothers sponsorship ads. regularly, for example.
So the big donors get "free" advertising, while the average donor or small business, the solo practitioner, does not. Therefore, tax dollars, TAXPAYER dollars should no long be shoveled into public tv.

#6/Addendum- A more appropriate description of the current PBS NewsHour would be to rename it as the PBS OpinionHour.

The US press really showed their true goal to the world. This was very embarrassing. It should be re-named DBS (democrat broadcasting system) instead of PBS. The so called journalists probably bought her an extra round of drinks for acting like a juvenile.

Son and I watched about 5 minutes of PBS when Neal Diamond was singing. Then they interrupted for their begging spiel. Son asked if I was going to send them money. I said in a resounding yell "NO. They get enough of my tax dollars as it is."

PBS was funded by taxpayer money at a time when only the big 3 stations (ABC, CBS, NBS) were available. Now there's over 300 different stations and the need no longer exists to fund PBS. This proves once a problem is solved, it still remains forever more to hose the taxpayer. Taxpayer money should be zeroed out.
