Citing health complications with his baby, Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy announced via his Facebook account that he would be resigning from Congress."Recently, weâve learned that our baby, due in late October, will need even more love, time, and attention due to complications, including a heart condition," Duffy said via Facebook. "With much prayer, I have decided that this is the right time for me to take a break from public service in order to be the support my wife, baby and family need right now."He said that Sept. 23 would be his last day in Congress where he represents the 7th District of Wisconsin

That is a shame. He actually seems like one of the more decent and reliable members.
Prays for him, Rachael and family.

That is a great reason to quit; as do others, I hope for the best for his child and his family.

Rachel Campos-Duffy is 47. That makes this a high risk pregnancy. My grandmothers both gave birth to 11 children, no twins, no stillbirths, all spaced out, which means they were delivering at 50 or so. But that was not always the case; that is not always the case. I have mine when I was so young that I have joked that we raised each other, but younger than 40something is better when it comes to having babiesâŚboth mother and father...

I find it unsettling that Republicans are retiring or simply not running. I have to wonder what's going on, it seems like a pattern. I wouldn't be surprised if they are getting threats against them & their families & not publicizing them. It certainly seems plausible given the unhinged insanity that pervades the dem party. I hope I'm wrong & their reasons are genuine. Rep. Duffy has a good reason for it. Maybe it's my perspective but it just seems like we're bleeding congressmen.

he has is priorities straight, but a shame to lose someone who has 9 kids. He would have a good outlook, I would guess.

Prayers for him and his family. My mother was 47 when my youngest brother was born. He's fine. I hope this baby is too.

What has happened to MEN? Now Sean can get a gig with Fox like those other MEN, Jason and Trey. You know the MEN who needed to spend "quality time" with the "family". I am not impressed one bit by these wimpy MEN.

To the snarkers, the child - due in October - has been found to have some birth defects including a heart condition. No, we donât know the details. Those are not our business, But Duffy sounds far, far from those who serve a few years and then retire, using family, in order to go on the news talk television programs.
And read again. He said heâs taking a break.

Reminds me of former Senator Rick Santorum, who has a similarly large and beautiful family.
Iirc Santorum's last child, while still in the womb, was diagnosed with a condition that is almost always fatal at birth. Might have been anencephaly.
Did the Santorums abort the baby? Of course not. Their little girl was born, and they held her and rocked her gently until she died a few hours after birth.

I wish Mr. Duffy the best but for the record there was no GOP candidate on the ballot in 38 House races in Nov. 2018. Only 3 races lacked Dem. candidates. The GOP just gave the seats away. Then they went on tv and gleefully said, see we told you, Trump is bad. Who if anyone does the GOP have lined up to fill upcoming vacancies in 2020--including Duffy's in Wisconsin? Without Trump's support Rep. Andy Barr would've lost in Kentucky in 2018 to one of the Democrats' new wave of military-intel candidates. Trump also foiled the GOP by single handedly getting Indiana Sen. Mike Braun elected.

The contrast once again between Dems and Repbublicans is cyrstal clear. Rebublicans resign over health issues of their children, Dems, like 'Weekend At Ruthie's' and passed out drunk at the SOTU address Ginsburg cling to power over life till death.

8 children & one on the way & you quit your job?? This sounds weird to me. Maybe we don't know all the facts. She works for Fox Nation on a show about Mothers.
