Don’t be lulled by a quiet June and July, the real Atlantic hurricane season is about to kick off. The hurricane season runs from June 1 to the end of November. But the next six weeks -- “the season within a season” -- is regularly the most dangerous and active time for storms to develop in the Atlantic, said Dennis Feltgen, spokesman for the National Hurricane Center in Miami. Only two named storms have developed in the Atlantic so far this year. Dry, dusty air from Africa’s Sahara robbed potential storms of moisture, and wind shear spurred by the El

Is this supposed to be news that the height of the hurricane season is in September? And please explain Mr. Headline Writer how a hurricane "season" is bearing down on the U. S. Coast. Misleading alarmist hyperbolic tripe.

Climate change, or the chaging of the world's climates, is real and have been occurring since long before we got here.

Just monitor hurricanes.gov, the Patrick AFB hurricane info page, and the 45th Weather Squadron page. When the Air Force leaves, you do too.

I was in South Florida from 2003-2010. Hurricanes galore. But actually by the time they hit Broward, tropical storms. Absurd article.

Either way, I hate them and the destruction they cause. Nothing to joke about.

Everyone who has ever lived on the East Coast knows that September/October is the peak season. There is no news here.....just fear-mongering progressive click bait.

Just DESPERATE, for SOME kind of bad news, ANYTHING.
And whatever it might be, it WILL be "Trump's fault", no matter what.

"Back-Loaded"? Well, this year it certainly has not been "Front-Loaded"!
I live on the north shore of Bay Saint Louis, MS, which was 'Ground Zero' for both Camille (1969) and Katrina (2005).
The rather sharp peak to the active storm season is Labor Day weekend.
We'll see what happens.
Meantime, it HAS been rather quiet so far, as in...... nothing.
It COULD change, or ..... maybe not.
Sounds to me like these people are mostly trying to get in the news, get their ratings up.
I would wager that the Media already have their stories written about how it's all due to "Anthropogenic" (big word.... do they even know what it means? Sounds so much more impressive than "man-made") Global Warming (scratch that) Climate Change (scratch that also) .... I got it! Anthropogenic Climate Disruption!..... as all the 'Beautiful People' (at least that's what THEY think they are) fly in their private jets and mega-yachts to their 'Global Warming Summit' (that is, rich hypocrite's snob's party).
Yep, the stories are all written how if we only had elected AlGore back in 2000, and had $10/gallon gas, everyone living in holes in the ground and walking to Starbucks instead of driving, how the Seas would have Receded and All the Hurricanes would have Gone Away.
They just need to fill in the blanks.... where, when, how much damage, etc...... and of course, it's already set in type that it's all TRUMP'S (they don't call him President Trump) fault!
In the meantime, in the real world, I'm keeping my eyes open.

Agree with poster#1. The lazy-ass media LOVES tropical storms. It's a paid vacation for them . Also must note that they are now naming snowstorms..

Just say the word 'hurricane' and I'm immediately remembering Dan Rather hanging on to a palm tree on Sanibel Island (I think) during one. I think he was the first on site reporter before The Weather Channel picked it up. I lived in SW FL 2000-2016 and sat thru Hurricane Charley 8/04. Once burned, twice shy.
