EDGEFIELD, S.C. (AP) — Attorney General William Barr said Monday he sees a way to legally require 2020 census respondents to declare whether or not they are citizens, despite a Supreme Court ruling that forbade asking the question. In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr said the Trump administration will take action in the coming days that he believes will allow the government to add the controversial census query. Barr would not detail the plans, though a senior official said President Donald Trump is expected to issue a memorandum to the Commerce Department instructing it to include the question on census forms.

On his second day of events in Nashville, Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke met with immigrants and refugees living in Tennessee on Monday for a roundtable discussion. O'Rourke, a former Texas congressman, first held a rally at Marathon Music Works on Sunday, drawing hundreds of supporters to the campaign event where he largely focused on immigration and decried President Donald Trump's policies on detaining migrants at the southern border. The Monday roundtable was organized by TIRRC Votes, the political action committee of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. O'Rourke's campaign reached out to the organization about holding the meeting

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren spent most of the spring as the Democratic presidential hopeful on the rise. Her poll numbers steadily ticked up, as she carved out a spot as a policy-focused candidate whose weekly plan rollouts set much of the broader campaign agenda. The momentum translated to fundraising. Warren took in $19.1 million in April, May and June — more than three times what her campaign raised during the first quarter of 2019, according to her campaign Monday. The fundraising total is about $1 million more than Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders raised, and about $7 million more than California Sen.

The indictment against Jeffrey Epstein for allegedly trafficking underage girls has renewed attention on the billionaire sex offender’s circle of rich and powerful friends.
Epstein had close ties in the mid-2000s to former President Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew and Ehud Barak, the former prime minister of Israel. (snip)
Epstein’s Rolodex, which was leaked in 2011, was also filled with the names of easily recognizable politicians and celebrities, including actors Alec Baldwin, Ralph Fiennes, Dustin Hoffman, and Elizabeth Hurley. Mick Jagger and Rupert Murdoch are also listed in the book, as are politicians Tony Blair, Michael Bloomberg, Andrew Cuomo, and Ted Kennedy.

Once again, responding to a horrendous crime by inflicting knee-jerk, authoritarian restrictions on innocent people proves to be an ineffective means of convincing people to obey. Specifically, New Zealand's government—which also stepped up censorship and domestic surveillance after bloody attacks on two Christchurch mosques earlier this year—is running into stiff resistance to new gun rules from firearms owners who are slow to surrender now-prohibited weapons and will probably never turn them in.
Officials should have seen it coming.
"Police are anticipating a number of people with banned firearms in their possession won't surrender them," Stuff reported at the end of May, based on internal government documents.

Federal authorities revealed Monday that a raid on Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan mansion turned up hundreds of nude photos of girls and young women; notes and messages that allegedly back up new sex-trafficking charges against him; and a massage table with sex toys.
The details were disclosed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan as it laid out its reasons for asking the court to hold the billionaire financier without bail until trial.
It said Epstein’s vast wealth and international holdings make him an “extreme flight risk”—and noted that he is in serious jeopardy of spending the rest of his life behind bars because of the evidence against him.

New York - American financier Jeffrey Epstein pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges of sex trafficking as prosecutors accused him of luring dozens of girls as young as 14 to his luxury homes in New York and Florida and paying them for sex acts.
An indictment unsealed in federal court in Manhattan accused Epstein, 66, of arranging for girls to perform nude “massages” and other sex acts, and paying some girls to recruit others, from at least 2002 to 2005.
“The alleged behavior shocks the conscience, and while the charged conduct is from a number of years ago, it is still profoundly important to the many alleged victims, now young women,”

Bill Clinton issued a statement denying that he knew nothing about Democrat billionaire donor Jeff Epstein having sex with girls.
His statement said, "President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York," the statement read. "In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein's airplane: One to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation. Staff, supporters of the Foundation, and his Secret Service detail traveled on every leg of every trip.

A week doesn’t pass without a mayor, governor, policymaker or pundit joining the rush to demand, or predict, an energy future that is entirely based on wind/solar and batteries, freed from the “burden” of the hydrocarbons that have fueled societies for centuries. Regardless of one’s opinion about whether, or why, an energy “transformation” is called for, the physics and economics of energy combined with scale realities make it clear that there is no possibility of anything resembling a radically “new energy economy” in the foreseeable future. Just like millions of American women, Melania Trump pinned Christine Blasey Ford, the first accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, for a liar in her fantastic tale of high school sexual assault.
Here's the New York Post:
First lady Melania Trump warned her husband that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was not being truthful when she accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her in high school, according to a new book.
"You know that woman is lying, right?" Melania told the president, in an episode recounted in Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court,
the New York Post reported. The book is slated for a Tuesday release.

Lost in the analysis is the clear and obvious Russian fingerprints all over the Steele dossier. The factual basis of the Wikileaks revelations. Independence Day is a now a day that has no real meaning for far too many Americans. Nearly half the nation works tirelessly to destroy our republic and the principles it was founded upon, and the rest of us can barely believe that some who want to lead the nation, Democrat communists and Republican globalists (RINOs), hold a vision that would reduce us all to serfs serving the government rather than the government serving the will of the people. A good portion of both sides simply want a barbecue and a good time.America's domestic enemies see state power as paramount over individual liberty.

Two simple words, and yet, last week, they seemed to cause an ever-widening philosophical separation in these United States of America. For the progressive, socialist left, our 243rd Independence Day was relegated to yet another opportunity to criticize President Trump. Sadly, the left in America, enabled by the media pundits, lost sight of those two words, “American independence.” Instead, they focused all their emotion and angst against one person. And in doing so, they have effectively transferred their hatred of that one person into a perceived hatred of America … and we know that perceptions lend themselves to reality.

The Left has no grasp of history none. And because of that, we hit these icebergs. We have Democrats likening Border Patrol detention centers for illegals to Nazi concentration camps. Granted, the Left describes any activity or policy from those with whom they disagree as fascistic and Hitler-esque. It’s their default position that has been jacked up on steroids since Trump’s 2016 win. After that 2016 upset, the Left has become increasingly more unhinged. We have the anti-Semitism crew headed by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), accusing supporters of Israel of exhibiting dual loyalty, saying that Israel has hypnotic powers that shields the world to its evil,

The tele-caucus systems, the result of a mandate from the Democratic National Committee, are aimed at opening the local-level political gatherings to more people, especially evening shift-workers and people with disabilities, whom critics of the caucuses have long said are blocked from the process. Anti-Trumpers have a right to know the truth about President Trump, especially as he relates to every personal interest group — including but not limited to veterans, women, blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, disabled people, aborted people, and LGBTQIAs.
This article does not take a position on the substantive positions of President Trump; this article just attempts to bring those positions to the attention of the people, so they can vote as they see fit based on who actually serves their personal interests.
This article will highlight a key consideration as to each group along with strategies to make sure these facts reach the people whose interests are most directly affected.

What Booker and the rest of his party refuse to acknowledge is that the process is made more cruel by a system that is being overused, abused and stretched

Friday’s jobs report showed that the economy created 224,000 new jobs, yet the unemployment rate edged up to 3.7%.
Both are welcome news. The unemployment rate went up because 158,000 rejoined the labor market. These are people who previously didn’t have a job and weren’t looking for one.
The labor market is tight enough that people who’d given up on work are getting lured back into the job market. And they’re finding work.
As of June, there were 5.6 million more people with jobs than when President Trump took office — despite claims by prominent economists that the economy was already at full employment when he was sworn in.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Barack Obama famously became so frustrated by his running mate’s logorrhea that he asked an aide, “How many times is Biden going to say something stupid?” According to authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the VP’s stock had dropped so low by late 2011 that the Obama reelection team considered replacing Biden with Hillary Clinton on the 2012 ticket.
