Trump Haters’ ‘Unfit to Be President’
Smear Goes Bust

Original Article

It’s time for the Trump haters to ditch their “unfit” trope. (snip) Somehow, they claim, a combination of incompetence, mental illness, and excessive fast-food consumption all render Trump incapable of executing his duties. While this has been an absurd and ugly lie since Trump’s inauguration, these stalwart naysayers now should see that Trump is entirely equipped to do his job. Trump’s critics surely will disagree with his policies and decisions. But the last few weeks should make even them admit that, whether they cheer or jeer his actions, he actually is performing as president, and effectively so.

Hold onto your hats. A pro-Trump piece in National Review, and without qualifiers.

Seems since we are all on one accord let’s make sure the President gets four more years to tack on to his term. He has done a fine job and will continue to work as hard as I have ever seen anyone work POTUS. The man is not a slacker, that’s for sure. Would that the Republicans in the Senate and House half of his work ethic and commitment to doing the best for the country. They look like slugs compared to him. He runs rings around them and many of the little Demi-gods cave at the first sign of opposition. This President is a throwback to a time when men worked hard, kept their word, respected God, loved this country and had that unique American sense of humor. He’s a keeper. KAG Trump/Pence 2020!

Yes there are never Trumpers on NR but, there are also some very pro Trump writers such as Victor Davis Hanson so, how about we critique the article for its substance rather than using anything done well by NR to slam them.

NR is responsible for those it employs who have not just respectfully disagreed with Trump but in accord with Dems actively worked to undermine a sitting Republican president. I hold the Never Trumpers to blame for having lost the House in '18. Ignore the media slant - imagine what more could have been accomplished without the intransigence of Pelosi back as Speaker.

Yes, Welcome Back, OP, and thanks for posting. Just don’t bother to read the sanctimonious and salacious [Ann C] comments. Sad that NR doesn’t acknowledge both our POTUS’ and VP’s continued support of Israel, and POTUS’ many pastor advisors like Darrell Scott. Hatred only hurts the hater; too bad some at NR never learned this.

Take off the masks and remove the “social distancing” circles from the floors. Open the schools, liberate college campuses, fill the restaurants and the gyms and the churches and the salons. Enough. If 2020 wasn’t twisted enough, the current political imbroglio centers around a verboten visit to a California boutique for a routine blow-out. (Snip) The incident is the latest in a series of “rules for thee but not for me” gut punches from the ruling class; whether it’s mask-free trips to the park or crowded funerals for anointed heroes or casual meals munched indoors, the government-ordered shutdowns apply to everyone except the sadists running government who order said shutdowns.

Joe Biden delivered a solid, if overhyped, speech last night accepting his party’s nomination for the highest office in the land. It effectively put a cap on the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and summed up the Democrats’ case thus: Joe Biden is a good and kind man; Donald Trump is not. Biden’s decency has been hugely exaggerated, as my colleague Ramesh Ponnuru has explained at Bloomberg Opinion, but he does seem a Boy Scout compared with his opponent. (Snip) Trump and his team have played right into Biden’s hands too.

A new poll released this weekend shows President Donald Trump, the incumbent GOP president, has taken a national and battleground states lead over his Democrat challenger presumptive nominee former Vice President Joe Biden. The survey, from the Democracy Institute commissioned by the Sunday Express newspaper, shows Trump leading Biden 48 percent to 46 percent. What’s more, Trump has opened up a bigger lead according to this poll in the crucial battleground states, meaning the president by this pollster’s estimates currently is projected to win 309 electoral votes—more than he did in 2016.

Until Thursday, Donald Trump’s reelection chances were not looking good. The booming economy — the lynchpin of his reelection campaign — lay in a COVID-induced coma, his near-daily jousting with a contemptuous press corps was yielding diminishing returns, and the Democratic leadership was salivating at running the cardboard-cutout version of Joe Biden against their hated enemy, trapped in the White House by the coronavirus panic. What a difference a couple of days makes. With the stunning announcement Thursday that the Justice Department was dropping all charges against Mike Flynn, Trump’s short-lived first national security adviser, the tables have suddenly turned.
About Those Press Conferences 46 replies

President Trump seems increasingly ambivalent about the utility of the daily and sometime marathon press conferences. He should be — and for reasons besides just their length and frequency. First, Trump gets bogged down into long, back-and-forth jousts with the touché Washington press corps. His impromptu skills, honed both as president and in his years on television, usually ensure him tactical victories. He is not peremptory but retaliatory in his put-downs. Fine. Most Americans don’t especially like the Washington press corps. So they don’t mind them earning the repartee that their rude provocation deserves. But Trump’s victories are becoming Pyrrhic.

As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

Nancy Pelosi’s top priority is to turn America into a one-party nation ruled by Democrats. Her bill HR 1 trashes the U.S. Constitution in an attempt to rig the system and make it virtually impossible to elect a Republican president or Congress again. It’s a power grab. The bill eviscerates state voting laws and forces all the states to conform to a set of rules that includes automatic voter registration. Anyone who goes to a DMV or applies for food stamps, Medicaid or other social services, or attends a public college will be automatically enrolled to vote. I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
