ICYMI: The Dems’ Anti-ICE Campaign Was
An Epic Fail

Democrats put everything they had in their effort to shut down President Donald Trump’s border control plans. And what exactly have they achieved for their often-infantile antics? Well, let’s see. This week, the House passed a bill that funds ICE for three years. Deportations are near all-time highs. Oh, and it looks like Trump’s border wall will be completed next year. On Tuesday, the House passed a “budget reconciliation” bill that provides enough money ($38 billion) to fund ICE for the rest of Trump’s term, plus $28 billion for the Border Patrol, and another $5 billion for border security technology and screening.

Well, they managed to clog up Congress and prevent any significant good legislation to pass.

Despite his attempts to jettison Joe Biden’s EV mandates, President Donald Trump might have inadvertently set the stage for one of his own. Welcome to the upside-down world of federal government fuel economy standards. Amid the government-created “energy crisis,” a Democratic Congress passed, and President Gerald Ford foolishly signed, a law in 1975 that dictated the average fuel economy automakers must reach for the passenger cars they sell in a given year. Failure to meet that standard meant paying huge fines. The energy crisis is long gone, but the federal “Corporate Average Fuel Economy” (CAFE)

Do you know who Willis Havilland Carrier is? No? Maybe you should. He’s the engineer who, way back in 1902, invented what we now call air conditioning. His invention has been cooling American houses and businesses ever since. But it’s also done something even more important: Saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Think that’s hyperbole? It isn’t. As America prepares for yet another long, hot summer, most of us will stay indoors to work and relax. Why? When the torrid weather arrives, we simply turn on our air conditioning and immediately feel cool air filling our rooms and making us comfortable. But comfort is a bonus to AC’s real impact: saving lives.

Earlier this year, there was a frenzy about the Reflecting Pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. President Donald Trump wanted to clean up what was mostly a fetid swamp, and decided to paint the bottom of the pool a royal blue, in part to help seal cracks but also because, why not? “Critics” went beserk, saying, as CNN reported, that “the Reflecting Pool will look more like a swimming pool, with the shine of a country club, like the president’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida … — and that the pool will actually be less reflective.” “It’s not supposed to look like you’re going to dive in

Once upon a time, Americans truly understood the meaning of wartime sacrifice. World War II rationing – not simply price hikes, but actual deprivation of goods – encompassed basic foods such as meats, butter, cheese, coffee, sugar, and canned, bottled, and frozen fruits and vegetables. Purchase-restricted necessities included clothing and shoes, metal goods and tires (hence scrap and rubber drives), and yes, gasoline. Such selflessness was universally accepted as the price of ridding the world of the evil and disruptive influences of fascism and militarism as represented by the Third Reich and Tojo’s Japan. Today?

A majority of Americans see Iran as a serious threat to the Mideast and are deeply concerned about its nuclear ambitions, but also don’t trust Iran’s ruling Islamist regime to abide by any nuclear agreements it might sign, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. As the U.S.-Iran conflict continues to unfold amid ongoing talks and threats of further possible military action, the national online I&I/TIPP Poll asked 1,589 voters several questions about Iran. The survey, taken from May 26 to May 28, has a margin of error of +/- 2.7 percentage points. The first question: “How much of a threat do you believe Iran poses to stability in the

Another media global warming team has been terminated, this time the National Public Radio climate desk. This is what happens when “journalists” keep reporting about a dead horse. Eventually, the public realizes the horse has perished, and there’s nothing left to talk about. Or that there was no horse to begin with. NPR is the third media outlet to rein in its diehard band of Democratic Party scribes dedicated to exaggerating climate fears, following the Washington Post and CBS News. The former was sawed roughly in half while the latter was, to our grand delight, “gutted.”

President Donald Trump has been having a field day with the agonizingly slow vote count in California’s primary. “The Dumocrats are at it again!” he posted Thursday on Truth Social. “They are trying to STEAL THE GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA PRIMARY, AND THE MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES, PRIMARY, AWAY FROM TWO GREAT REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES.” Which, of course, set off a frenzy of “Trump lies” responses from Democrats and the press. But even if Trump is wrong about fraud, he’s right to complain about this laughably inept process.

Last week, we wrote about how euthanasia has become one of the most popular and easily accessible healthcare “treatments” available in Canada’s socialized medical care system, thanks to the country’s embrace of medically assisted suicide. We noted that, “From a government bean counter’s perspective, the more suicides the better.” (See “Canada Shows The Gruesome Side Of Socialized Healthcare.”) This week, we came across a study published in the OMEGA — Journal of Death and Dying that “explores the potential economic savings from expanding medical assistance in dying (MAID) in Canada.”

The world’s largest parasite, the running cocktail party for despots, apparatchiks, terrorists, climate fanatics and Americanophobes, should be shut down — with prejudice. News reports tell us the U.N. is facing imminent bankruptcy, headed toward a financial collapse and is at risk of insolvency. It’s “expected to officially run out of money in mid-August.” The best part is “the United States is a big reason why.” “The United States owes roughly $2 billion to the organization’s regular budget on top of another $2.2 billion for peacekeeping

This isn’t normally the time when voters are asked whether they are better off than they were four years ago. That’s the question that tends to come around in presidential election years. But as the midterms approach, it’s what everyone should ask themselves as they decide who controls Congress for the next two years. Because the answer is obvious. Let’s turn the dial back to June 2022. Joe Biden had been occupying the White House for a year and a half. Democrats controlled Congress, handing him his $2 trillion “Build Back Better” spending extravaganza. The economy had more than recovered the ground

But there’s also good news for Trump: His ratings showed little change in the latest I&I/TIPP Poll, as he moves toward a deal with Iran that will reopen the Mideast’s oil spigots. June’s poll was taken from May 26 through May 28, and included a sample of 1,589 adults, with a margin of error of +/-2.7 percentage points. The first question:

"This was by far the worst experience I’ve been involved in, or even witnessed." The worst experience she’s ever even witnessed. By far. The Puck reporter observed that Stahl's voice "trailed off

The “sweetest” elderly Mississippi couple were allegedly killed by a teenage burglar who then shot at cops during a six-hour standoff while barricaded in the house, according to authorities. Billy Blair, 74, and his wife, Virginia Carol Blair, 71, were killed after 17-year-old Cordarius Hobbs broke into their home last Wednesday, WLBT reported. Hobbs has since been charged with capital murder. Cops swooped on the Mendenhall home just after noon for a welfare check after worried relatives couldn’t make contact — but they encountered gunfire upon their arrival. The burglary was already taking place when police arrived and the front door was open.

If you ask, many Americans will tell you that one of the things they hate most about "the swamp," Washington, D.C., is the fact that once a congressman or senator gets elected, pulling them out of said swamp is next to impossible, and the result is geriatric lawmakers being wheeled around in wheelchairs. It's certainly not what the Founding Fathers intended. Now, one House member may have the answer to this dilemma. Republican Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) has introduced a bill that would end both pay and power for House and Senate members who have reached 12 years of service in their respective legislative bodies.

Several excellent studies have estimated the number of people who have been incarcerated and the collateral consequences they face, but far less is known about the size and scope of the total U.S. population with felony convictions beyond prison walls, including those who serve their sentences on probation or in jail. The law, passed two years ago by state legislators, now requires children under 13 who are considered delinquent, or who have broken a state law, be redirected to social services. The Minnesota Association of County Social Service Administrators (MACSSA) represents social service staff across the state's 87 counties and is asking the state to step in and make changes to the law. The Left is all upset and trying to stop the war, but there is no war right now. It’s a waiting game. And what is the waiting game? The waiting game is that Iran feels that by giving a concession on Monday and taking it back on Tuesday and letting Hezbollah attack—
