A new state law goes into effect on Aug. 1 in Minnesota, which will no longer allow 10-, 11- and 12-year-old children to be criminally prosecuted. The Minnesota Association of County Social Service Administrators (MACSSA) represents social service staff across the state's 87 counties and is asking the state to step in and make changes to the law. What could possible go wrong? No consequence crime will lead to the Nirvana of criminal behavior. And expect a lot of 10-13 year olds to open Lerning Centers and daycares.

The biggest problem here is that adults will hire kids to do their dirty work. They can rob and kill at random knowing they willl not face prosecution.

FIFA has been left with egg on its face, with almost 180,000 tickets still available just days before the World Cup kicks off. The World Cup begins on Thursday amid a backdrop of sociopolitical issues. While there have been security concerns with several incidents, including a shooting near England’s training camp, top referee Omar Artan was denied a visa despite having valid documentation. Ticket pricing has also been a major talking point, with exceptionally high prices leaving fans on the outside looking in unless they pay an extortionate amount. Seats for the final were reportedly listed at close to $33,000

Construction signs and no-parking notices are at the ready around George Floyd Square. The $15 million reconstruction of the square starts Monday, shortly after the sixth anniversary of George Floyd’s murder. The project will reopen streets, while keeping the memorial area closed to traffic. But some neighbors are feeling sticker shock. “ This tax assessment of $636,000 is going to harm our neighborhood and harm the local businesses,” resident Julia Johnson told a Minneapolis City Council committee this week. “It’s probably going to make my rent go up. It’s going to cause people to be displaced; to be disconnected from

The Postal Service proposed a new rule pushing states to turn over their mail-in and absentee voter rolls to the agency, a move in line with President Donald Trump’s March executive order tightening regulations on mail-in voting in federal elections. Since the start of his second administration, Trump has made election integrity and security a central issue, signing multiple executive orders to require proof of citizenship and crack down on mail-in voting fraud, essentially establishing a national voter verification system. His efforts have run into several legal hurdles, with judges ruling against requirements for proof of citizenship, and several Democratic states sue over the mail-in voting order.

Decades later, those American-born children can sponsor their parents for green cards. The birth tourism industry is widespread among Turkish nationals in New York City, Chinese nationals in California, Russian nationals in Florida, and Middle Easterners in Illinois. Do you know who Willis Havilland Carrier is? No? Maybe you should. He’s the engineer who, way back in 1902, invented what we now call air conditioning. His invention has been cooling American houses and businesses ever since. But it’s also done something even more important: Saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Think that’s hyperbole? It isn’t. As America prepares for yet another long, hot summer, most of us will stay indoors to work and relax. Why? When the torrid weather arrives, we simply turn on our air conditioning and immediately feel cool air filling our rooms and making us comfortable. But comfort is a bonus to AC’s real impact: saving lives.
