We live in an age of wonders made possible by a combination of free markets and scientific advancement. This weekend a large group of oncologists, doctors who specialize in the treatment of cancer, met to show off their latest breakthroughs at a conference called ASCO26. The news from this conference is so good that it brought standing ovations from the assembled doctors. The big breakthrough that everyone is excited about involves pancreatic cancer which has long been a death sentence for many people. There must be something about the month of May for the radical "protesters" at Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, because May 2026 has been a lot like May 2025 in terms of the wild scenes that have unfolded there over the past two weeks. RedState has extensively covered the clashes that the anti-ICE demonstrators have instigated with immigration enforcement agents, with one situation involving a violent agitator who allegedly kicked and bit two agents. New Jersey resident Brendan John Geier, 26, has been arrested in that case. Another disturbing incident involved an agitator caught on tape threatening to kill an ICE agent and their family. The suspect, 27-year-old Brooklynite

Bill has written here and here about Henry Nowak, the 18 year old Briton who was stabbed to death by Vickrum Digwa, a Sikh. The perpetrator, having stabbed Nowak, collaborated with family members to put out the story that Nowak was a “racist,” while his mother hid the murder weapon. This is the call that Digwa’s brother made to report the crime. The suggestion that the victim was a “racist” was all that London Southampton police needed to hear: Police officers arrived on scene. Henry Nowak, dying from stab wounds, could not respond coherently to their questions, although he did say that he couldn’t breathe.

Kind of a one-two punch out of ExxonMobil's senior vice president, Neil Chapman, today. On one hand, a not-so-surprising announcement tying up the loose ends of Exxon's corporate existence. The company, which has long been legally homeported in increasingly business-unfriendly New Jersey, would move that as well, thanks to stockholders giving executives the thumbs-up. ...Chapman delivered his message on the same day that Exxon shareholders approved a plan to move the company's legal home from New Jersey to Texas. Citing Texas' strong regulatory environment, ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods said the state was a better fit for the company in a statement.

In the popular Marvel film, 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', the villainous organisation Hydra develops an advanced computer algorithm that mines every citizen's digital history to predict if they might pose a threat to the government in the future. A Chinese company is now on the verge of turning this science fiction plot into reality by developing an artificial intelligence-powered technology that would help authoritarian governments to not only monitor dissenters but also predict who could become one in the future. The company, Geedge Networks, sells a commercial version of the surveillance and censorship software used by the Chinese government to control online activity. Leaked company documents

Axios is reporting that President Donald Trump's administration appears ready to drop the proposed $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund, and the move may prove smart. The concern behind the fund remains real: Federal power did get used as a political weapon, and Americans deserve answers, names, records, hearings, firings, and prosecutions where evidence supports them. From Just the News. The Trump administration is reportedly planning to cancel plans to create a $1.776 billion "anti-weaponization fund" amid bipartisan backlash, Axios reported, citing "two senior administration officials." The Trump administration plans to drop the Department of Justice's $1.8 billion "Anti-Weaponization Fund" in the face of legal and political pushback to it, reports said Monday. The fund was created as part of a settlement of President Donald Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service. It is intended to compensate people who were purportedly victims of prosecutorial overreach by the DOJ under the Biden administration.

BEIRUT — U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to dial back fighting after he held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and communicated with the Lebanese militant group through mediators. The US Central Command (Centcom) said it conducted "self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones in Goruk, Iran and Qeshm Island this weekend". Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had targeted an air base used by US forces in retaliation, but did not say where. Earlier US media reported President Donald Trump had requested "edits" to the latest terms of a proposal that could lead to a peace deal, and there was no sign of a breakthrough.

The United States has secured long-term access to one of the world's largest untapped rare earth deposits, a move that could reduce its future dependence on mineral-rich African nations as Washington races to build a critical minerals supply chain independent of China. REalloys, a Florida-based rare earth materials company, has signed a 15-year offtake agreement with Critical Metals Corp. covering 15% of Phase 1 production from the Tanbreez project in southern Greenland. The deposit is among the world's largest known sources of heavy rare earth elements, including dysprosium and terbium, two minerals essential for fighter jets, missile systems, radar platforms, drones and other advanced defence technologies.

He actually held the role for roughly 18 months before quitting to launch his Senate campaign—and it was largely a "clerical" one, according to local records and people familiar with the position. Platner's predecessor as Sullivan harbormaster resigned in February 2022, the records show, and the town got by without one for more than a year.
