China is the United States' primary geopolitical rival now. The Middle Kingdom has been arming up, building a navy, and casting a speculative eye at Taiwan - and some other places in the western Pacific. This is the only country right now that could engage the United States in anything like a near-peer conflict. President Trump is set to visit China in the next few days, and there is, reportedly, a lot on the agenda for him to discuss with China's leader Xi Jinping. It would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall during these discussions,

This is classic political theater for the CCP. Xi has been quietly stripped of his command of the military by the Central Committee and will almost certainly be forced to step down in 2027 if he survives until then. He had General Zhang Yousia, a Red Second Generation hero, "disappeared", and likely killed, in an attempt to eliminate Zhang's control of PLA troops loyal to him, and a threat to Xi. This is the equivalent of Barzini taking out Don Corleone in the CCP equivalent of made men. The other dons know they could be next. Xi has purged most of the PLA leadership, and those left have refused to pledge their loyalty to him, which is essential for Xi to command them. The Central Committee can't jeopardize trade relations with Trump by pulling the plug on Xi at this time, but there is zero chance that the PLA would obey his order to move on Taiwan. The real negotiations will be at a level below the world leaders, and they need Trump more than Trump needs Xi.

Could be time for another Syrian Dessert Surprise for Xi, like, "Just a moment, have to take this call - we learned that Iran was launching an incendiary oil slick into the Gulf, so we just turned Kharg Island into Kharg Tar Pits. Hope your plans weren't disturbed."

the Virginia Ruling Tells You Everything

In the wake of the Virginia Supreme Court's ruling last week, national party leaders didn’t accept the ruling and are trying to regroup. According to a new report, they got on a private call and started plotting ways around it. That tells you everything you need to know. The Virginia Supreme Court struck down a voter-ratified congressional map that gerrymandered Democrats four extra seats in Congress. The ruling was a huge setback for the Democrats in the ongoing redistricting wars, and they’re desperately trying to figure out what to do next. On Saturday, Democratic House members from Virginia and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries—

An NYPD captain who was transferred to a less desirable role after being caught on video bashing NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani as “an embarrassment” has become a veritable folk hero with an army of supporters backing him for speaking his mind about the radical socialist. Republican pols and other high-ranking conservatives are now taking up Capt. James G. Wilson’s cause, and defending his Constitutional rights. They say the department’s decision to ship Wilson from the 94th Precinct in Brooklyn – where he served as the second-highest officer for the Greenpoint station house –

Former “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush said Thursday that former reality star Spencer Pratt, a Republican running to become mayor of Los Angeles, was “relentless” in Tuesday’s debate with incumbent Mayor Karen Bass (D). Bush told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that he was initially “suspect” of Pratt debating Bass and Los Angeles City Council member Nithya Raman, a progressive who launched a late bid for mayor in February. Here’s the thing about Spencer Pratt, he was relentless,” Bush said. “He kept going and he kept going, and the guy has credibility, right? I mean, he came in and said, ‘I’m an outsider,’ and ‘Boy, it’s corrupt,’

In the continuing Iran conflict, voices on both sides of the American political spectrum have made the claim that the mullahs can score a strategic victory by merely surviving, especially if they can do so while retaining a semblance of control over the Strait of Hormuz. If these observers are right that Iran’s victory would not be “military” but “strategic,” one need not look far back in American history to find a precedent. At the start of the Korean War in June 1950, North Korean communists under the control of Kim Il-Sung crossed the 38th Parallel and attacked South Korea. Armed and encouraged by the Soviet Union,
Abraham Lincoln: Conservative And Pragmatist 2 replies

In the modern imagination, Abraham Lincoln is a figure so overexposed that he risks becoming invisible. His face is carved into mountains, printed on currency, and invoked with ritualistic reverence by politicians who would scarcely recognize the discipline of mind that animated him. Yet beneath the marble stillness lies a moral and intellectual temperament that is, by contemporary standards, almost alien: austere, rational, cautious, and yet quietly aflame with conviction. To recover Lincoln as a moral beacon and a conservative thinker is not merely an antiquarian exercise. It is an indictment of our own age, which confuses noise for thought, fervor for principle, and rupture for reform.

An ugly internal power struggle in Iran is muddying mediation talks with the US, as pro-war and pro-deal factions battle it out over whether Tehran should ever surrender, sources familiar with mediation efforts tell The Post. Though Iran’s political elites — including its president, foreign minister and parliamentary speaker — have been at the center of efforts to hammer out peace terms, regional sources told The Post that it’s Iran’s military leadership that ultimately has the power to accept or reject any agreement. “One faction there right now is at its highest point ever in its history — the IRGC,” a source told The Post.

No matter how bizarre or puzzling or impossibly complex crime scenes seemed to be, the detective Sherlock Holmes, accompanied by his friend Dr. John Watson — both fictional characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the late 1800s — never failed to solve them. Using keen observation — actually noting teeny, tiny, sometimes microscopic details that eluded even the sleuths at Scotland Yard — as well as the forensic science of the day, Holmes astounded the experts and ultimately became one of the most popular figures in all of literature...to this day!

On April 23, the US Treasury Department announced that the IRS plans to revise Form 990—the annual information return filed by tax-exempt organizations—to improve transparency and strengthen oversight, specifically targeting reporting on government contracts, government grants, and fiscal sponsorship arrangements. The stated goals are to detect misconduct and hold wrongdoers accountable. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent put the matter bluntly: “We are ending the days of hiding fraud, abuse, and extremist activity behind complicated nonprofit arrangements. When bad actors misuse charitable structures, directors and officers should understand that transparency can lead to scrutiny, accountability, and liability under the law.”

The evidence continues to stack up that the U.S. intel community sought to downplay China's actions in 2020 as Trump sought reelection, perhaps at the cost of legal or ethical rules. CIA Director John Ratcliffe said that there was a “false impression that Russia sought to influence the election, but China did not.” Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has spurred an investigation into evidence that spy agencies tried to conceal U.S. election vulnerabilities, including whistle-blower claims that a CIA officer was asked to alter evidence of China meddling and that President Donald Trump and Congress were intentionally kept in the dark about concerns involving —

North Korea has updated its constitution to require a retaliatory nuclear strike if leader Kim Jong Un is assassinated, according to a report. The Telegraph reported the change comes amid heightened global tensions following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other officials during a recent conflict. Khamenei was killed in an Israeli strike in Tehran as part of a coordinated U.S.-Israeli military operation earlier this year, Fox News Digital previously reported. The constitutional revision was approved during a session of North Korea’s Supreme People’s Assembly, which opened March 22 in Pyongyang, the outlet said. The Democrat party is facing such a host of seemingly intractable problems -- structural, financial, legal, and ideological -- that it will be close to a miracle if it survives after this year’s midterms. The below deck shuffles -- encouraging illegal alien votes, manipulating the census, making crooked voting almost impossible to check, and stuffing their pockets with illegal contributions through ACT Blue and pay-to-play schemes of USAID and NGOs -- are all suddenly being exposed and blocked. Empty Pockets Jeff Childers has done a thorough job explaining the party’s terminal crisis. Being short of funds is a good start.

"He did win in a landslide, and we will soon be able to give evidence about that," Crowley said. Now, she didn't lay out a timeline or spell out exactly what the evidence would look like, but the message was clear.

BOSTON — A bill quietly moving through the Massachusetts Senate — and one Gov. As night follows day, progressives’ response to the Virginia Supreme Court’s tossing of Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s outrageous gerrymander is to demand an instant court-packing move to undo it. To lefties driving today’s Democratic Party, it’s not “democracy” unless it’s hard-wired to let them run roughshod — and when their power-grab schemes run afoul of the rule of law, their only answer is a fresh scheme. Specifically, progs want to ram through a law instantly dropping the retirement age for the Virginia court to 54, which would allow the legislature to replace enough justices to restore the gerrymander. Keeping the report buried was widely seen as a way to aid Harris if she were to throw her hat into the 2028 arena, given that it might be politically mortifying for her.
