Washington, D.C., judge on Monday apologized to the suspect who allegedly opened fire during the White House Correspondents' dinner last month for how he has been treated by authorities in jail. Cole Tomas Allen, a resident of Torrance, California, was placed under suicide watch at the D.C. jail because he allegedly told the FBI that he expected to die during the shooting. Suicide watch protocols mandated Allen remain on a 24-hour lockdown in a "safe cell," with no phone access to call or receive visits from anyone other than his legal team. Prosecutor Jocelyn Ballantine claimed that since Allen told investigators he did not expect to survive the alleged attack,

An attempted assasination and this piece of crap judge apologises to the would be assasin. That judge should be sanctioned, and removed because anyone who appolizes to a killer certainly cannot be fair and impartial. These lefties have ruined this country and have taken lawfare to the outer limits.

Excoriating DoJ officials for treating a would be assassin worse than J6 defendants suggest that this judge regards J6 activities as worse than attempting to assassinate the President. And this is because the name of the President is Donald J Trump. THAT is high treason.

First, he isn't a confirmed Federal Judge. He is a mere Magistrate Judge. He isn't nominated by the President., He isn't confirmed by the Senate. He doesn't have lifetime tenure. He is appointed by a majority vote of Federal Judges in a particular district. They have limited duties. This Bozo needs to be removed. His impartiality isn't in question, it's documented. By the way, one off the powers a magistrate has is to issue warrants (search and arrest). It's no surprise a non confirmed, non Federal 'judge' issues the search warrant for Trump's home. It is so convenient to get majority vote of judges in a particle district ringer to further the judiciary's political agenda.

The article explains that Allen was put in "five point restraints," which (if you look it up) is as unpleasant as it sounds. I assume that the reasons for this extreme measure were well documented by jail staff and that this was done for Allen's own good, but in context the judge's expression of sympathy is not so outrageous.

The Supreme Court decided Monday to let its recent ruling limiting a key part of the Voting Rights Act take effect early instead of holding it for a month, per tradition. The Supreme Court last week narrowed the scope of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act to bar race-based districts, ruling that Louisiana's map was unconstitutional and prompting the state to reschedule its upcoming House primaries while its lines are redrawn. Supporters of the Supreme Court ruling urged the court to allow it to take effect immediately so Louisiana has time to redraw the maps,

The Supreme Court recently handed down one of its most consequential voting rights decisions in decades, striking down Louisiana’s congressional map in a 6–3 ruling that significantly curtails the power of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The decision in Louisiana v. Callais, written by Justice Samuel Alito and joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett, has already triggered a rush of political condemnation and legislative action across the country, with governors calling special sessions and primaries being suspended in the final stretch before the 2026 midterm elections.
