The Pearl, one of just a few dozen lesbian bars in the U.S., on Saturday announced it would close at the end of the month after falling behind on paying staff and performers as well as building costs to maintain its location in the historic Mercury Cafe. The Pearl had only been open for a year and had more than a couple past problems during its existence.
