Six so-called “Republicans” voted Wednesday alongside Democrats to advance legislation that would extend Temporary Protected Status for Haitian migrants despite the Trump administration’s efforts to end the widely exploited program.
Republican Reps. Don Bacon (Neb.), Brian Fitzpatrick (Penn.), Mike Lawler (N.Y.), Maria Elvira Salazar (Fla.), Carlos Gimenez (Fla.) and Nicole Malliotakis (N.Y.) voted alongside Democrats to pass Democrat Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s discharge petition that would extend TPS for Haitians until April of 2029.Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) told Newsweek she voted to extend TPS for Haitians because she thinks of America as an economic opportunity zone.

This is rather disgusting. We are now getting some hints why Thune's Senate pubbies could not pass the Save America Act - preserving the filibuster rules the roost. Meanwhile, you gang of six House pubbies, would a club upside the head work to wake you up.

Veto the bill. There aren't enough votes to override the veto. Then primary the RINOs who voted for it. The Senate Republicans can always filibuster the bill if there are enough turncoats to otherwise pass it.

Well, I think we can figure out why those three joined the Democrats on this.

Number of Republicans voting 'yes' now up to 10.
Amazing how Chinese-owned meating packing companies used to the cheap migrant labor can buy anyone's vote.

Mike Lawler of NY, one of these GOP backstabbers, is pushing this because his wife was an immigrant. He is also on the democrat bandwagon for the "Dignity Act" which gives immigrants all kind of rights in this country. I saw him on Laura Ingraham's show, and she raked him over the coals for being for it. He is not loyal to the voters or the GOP.

I think we're very close to epidemic levels of Rino Virus in Congress. How do you get people to pay enough attention to primary these **** Rinos? It may be a moot point at this juncture. That is, without the SAVE America Act all sorts of demonrats are going to cheat their way into Congress and all will be lost anyways.

Do these immigrants getting temporary protected status get any government assistance from any program? If Malliotakis thinks they are here for the economy, they should be here to work and pay their own way and not get any Government assistance.

The wording of the TPS "Law" makes it clear...NO VENUE, no court, no legislature has any right to review, modify, or counter any Presidential decision that offers TPS or cancels/concludes or modifies it. It is the SOLE purview of the President, via HIS Attorney General. It is a solely "Administration" option.

I'm in agreement with the posters who mentioned Lawler. He's not only a big RINO, he makes me think he's a wanna be Mayor like the New York commie. I hope he gets ousted this year.

Veto and primary these RINOs. They could not let these deportation loopholes be addressed, so the special interest groups like Catholic Charities are donating more to them or orgs that give to them. It is my understanding that the language is very clear. If 68% of them are on some kind of Govt assistance, they are using the $$$ I put away to fund healthcare and retirement my entire life. Gradually, then suddenly.

Anything coming from Rep. Ayanna Pressley is an automatic no. The woman looks at everything through a black lens, everything. Look at Haiti. The whole country is a sh** hole consumed by corruption, violence and a total lack of civility among it's people. Beautiful beaches that would attract millions of tourists but the violence keeps everybody away. And that's what they bring to our country. They all have to go. Got it.

Since all these illegal ALIENS are so critical to this country and us citizens are not then I guess that means we no longer need to pay taxes. My disgust for Congress can't get any worse. When I lived in South Florida back in the 1970s and 80s, Hispanics in the area, mostly Cuban expatriates, had no use for the Haitians.

These six so-called “Republicans” need to look up the definition of the word TEMPORARY. It has been in effect since 1990 - we're talking almost 40 freaking years! 40!!
