I'm still waiting for someone to question why gas prices in this country have skyrocketed when the U.S. doesn't import oil from the Middle East. We use oil from here. It should only affect those countries that rely on Middle Eastern oil. The world market price shouldn't affect U.S. oil unless the oil companies are just gouging the consumers which they have done a number of times in the past such as they did in the seventies with the phony oil shortage.

Per #3. There is certainly some gouging going on but some of the increase is driven by the futures market traders. A big drop in oil prices is going to leave a lot of those guys with their pants around their ankles.

Seems like someone with the initials DJT said that as soon as it looked like the situation is clearing up the whole oil/stock/gas thing would start to retreat immediately, and that it would be happening soon...

hacker has allegedly stolen a massive trove of sensitive data – including highly classified defense documents and missile schematics – from a state-run Chinese supercomputer in what could potentially constitute the largest known heist of data from China. The dataset, which allegedly contains more than 10 petabytes of sensitive information, is believed by experts to have been obtained from the National Supercomputing Center (NSCC) in Tianjin//snip//Once inside, the attacker told Hofer they deployed a “botnet” — a network of automated programs that were able enter the NSCC’s system and then extract, download and store the data. The extraction of 10 petabytes of data took around six months.

US stocks surged Wednesday as oil plunged in its biggest single-day decline since the pandemic, after President Trump said he had agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 1,325 points, or 2.9%, to 47,909.92 — the best day since April 2025. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq jumped 2.5% and 2.8%, respectively. Brent crude oil prices dropped 13% to $96.31 a barrel – the lowest price in nearly a month after news that Iran would allow the temporary safe passage of ships through the strait, a vital maritime route for 20% of the world’s oil supply.

Left-wing actor George Clooney is calling President Donald Trump a war criminal after Trump insisted he intended to erase away the oppressive Iranian Mullah’s “whole civilization.” The actor, who abandoned the U.S.A. to take up residence in Italy, ripped Trump for his social media post warning the oppressive, terror-exporting, Iranian regime that he intended to utterly destroy them. Trump took to his Truth Social account on Monday, April 7, to warn the Mullahs, writing, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. The end of the mullahs’ civilization has been called off, at least for now and probably forever. President Trump is characterizing it positively: President Trump agreed to a two-week pause on military strikes on Iran in a dramatic pivot less than 90 minutes from his 8 p.m. deadline — saying it was subject to Tehran agreeing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said he spoke with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, who urged him to hold off on what he described as a “destructive force” set to be unleashed on Iran.

Democrats and their media allies have worked overtime to paint President Donald Trump as reckless, unstable, and dangerously unfit to lead. The latest excuse for their hysteria came after Trump put pressure on Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which has been effectively closed since February, cutting off roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply. They’ve been daring the United States to respond ever since, and Trump did respond. And that’s when the left completely lost it. On Tuesday morning, Trump issued a blunt warning on Truth Social. He demanded that Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He set a deadline and made it clear he wasn’t bluffing. He warned

Will Donald Trump follow through on his ultimatum to target and destroy Iran’s energy infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz did not fully reopen? We are still about 90 minutes away from H-Hour on that demand. However, we have already seen this threat expose the hypocrisy, ignorance, and propagandizing of the American media – and not just from legacy media outlets, either. Initially, I began addressing this in my Final Word post, but it got so extensive that it clearly requires a more definitive rebuttal. The “war crime” narrative in relation to Trump’s threats to target Iranian energy infrastructure didn’t start with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres,

Just a quick post to update on whether the 8pm Eastern deadline issued by President Donald Trump for Iran to cave is real or not. Spoiler alert: It's real. After a Truth Social and X cross-post by the President that promised a civilization-ending demise coming to the Iranian military junta running the country, a couple of things happened. The anti-Trump fever swamp leapt to war crime accusations, fears of nuclear weapons being used, and calls for emergency impeachment and/or 25th Amendment measures against Trump being deployed to fill the timelines of the online world and cable news outlets leading up to the deadline. Don't necessarily expect this to show up at the gas pump instantaneously, but there's good news on the oil price front following President Trump's announcement that a tentative ceasefire agreement had been reached with Iran. It's probably too soon to call this a done deal — lots of i's to dot and t's to cross before that can be said. And...this is Iran we're talking about. Still, following the President's announcement of the potential deal, oil prices took a precipitous drop, marking the biggest one-day nosedive since 1991 and the Gulf War. Crude oil prices dropped sharply Tuesday evening, falling well under $100

A Biden-appointed federal judge blocked the Trump administration from ending temporary amnesty for thousands of Ethiopian nationals in the U.S. since 2022. In a ruling on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy described the Trump administration’s “termination” of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) amnesty for Ethiopian nationals as “unsurprising in light” of President Donald Trump’s executive order, Reuters reported. Murphy also noted that “the will of the President does not supersede that of Congress.” “Fundamental to this case—and indeed to our constitutional system—is the principle that the will of the President does not supersede that of Congress,” Murphy said. “Presidential whims do not and cannot supplant agencies’ statutory obligations.”
