A federal judge on Tuesday blocked President Donald Trump from moving ahead with any further work on a massive new $400 million ballroom on the former site of the White House’s East Wing.
“The President of the United States is the steward of the White House for future generations of First Families. He is not, however, the owner!” Judge Richard Leon wrote.
Leon, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, said he was delaying implementation of his ruling for two weeks for a possible appeal. But

Disappointing but not surprising. Hopefully the ruling will be overturned quickly.

Did the judge ask for permission to make this ruling? Or did he go ahead with it on his own?
The only way this will stop is when there is accountability for these malfeasant opinionators. And, who is it that has standing to approach the court on this?

The judge didn’t go far enough. He should have ordered Trump to put everything back to where it was. I’m sure he thought about that but realized that would be silly, so he came up with this wise decision. This TDS is way out of control. It’s gotten to the point of being frivolous and wasting the time of the courts. This National Trust is probably run by little old ladies with white hair, who wear tennis sneakers and have all the time in the world to get involved in this nonsense.

I wonder if the judge can slap posthumous injunction Harry Truman for the Truman Balcony.

They already have the hole dug. Congress can construct a huge, badly needed, out-house for what they produce.

This country is a lawyer's paradise. What does this judge think he is, some kind of king?

The judge should come and stop it himself. Otherwise get the hell out of the way.

1. Actually, the federal government (Executive Branch) owns the White House under the stewardship of the National Park Service. 2. President Theodore Roosevelt built the original 15,000 sq. ft. West Wing in 1902 without approval from Congress. 3. In the 1930s, President Franklin Roosevelt expanded it from 15,000 sq. ft. to 40,000 sq. ft , also without approval by Congress. 4. The Truman Balcony was added by President Truman in 1948 without approval by Congress, although he paid for it with saved personal funds. 5. Like the Truman Balcony, the Trump East Wing addition will not require a congressional appropriation, as it is also financed by private funds. But forget precedent, the judge has spoken.

#11 has it right. The wh is “owned” by the NPS, an executive agency. It is a museum, not a monument. And if the rule\ing starts out presuming otherwise, the ruling is de facto wrong.

The British Army burned down the White House on August 24th, 1814. Rule that they must rebuild it to the original design. Otherwise, you're not much of a judge.

Hey Judge, Put on your coveralls, pick up a shovel and get to work. There's a HUGE hole to dig for the secure area below the Ballroom. IF you refuse, then your ruling is MOOT, Meaningless, without authority!
In other words, PICK UP A SHOVEL or POUND SAND!

#11...I must apologize to you for copying your post and posting it on the various "news" sites that are gloating over the Judge's decision. It was so well done. Between the fake celebrity "deaths" the and the dangerous Fake news regarding Pope IV, condemination of Trump and his cabinet I fear that head will expolode. I would gladly have given you credit.

Judge Leon wants to be relevant. Name part of the BBBR after him.......perhaps a restroom.
This could be fun.... honor dems by naming parts of the BBBR after them. (BJC wants a ladies room named after him.)
(However, how much money has been transferred to this judge's overseas accounts?)

Has absolutely nothing to do with who own thee WH. Nor if permission from Congress to add onto or redecorate the WH. It’s all about democommies stopping PRESIDENT Trump from doing anything. If OBiden wanted it built and made taxpayers pay for it, it would get built. What is wrong with having a ballroom instead of pitching a tent and having guests use portable potties It’s nothing but TDS. Build it! And when a democommiee is elected padlock the doors so the Dems can’t use it! Jack azz’s

AI generated info:
'Damages for the Enjoined Party: If the injunction was "wrongfully" issued, the enjoined party (often a government agency) may be entitled to damages under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(c). This typically requires the plaintiff to have posted a bond to cover the defendant's costs, losses, and legal fees incurred due to the injunction. If no bond was required or it was insufficient, the plaintiff may still be liable for these damages.'
No injunction should be granted without a surety bond and those who seek these injunctions should pay by law. If these folks and judges had skin in the game this farce would disappear.

I don't know why the liberals and this idiot judge want every Whit House party to be held in a tent. Are they the recipients of the tent rental agency?

We're quickly becoming a third world country in which members of the Judiciary are the supreme leaders. They need to be taken out behind the gym after school.
