When I was about 12 or 13, I had a friend who was fun to be with. When we were in my house or hers, we’d talk endlessly about our schoolmates, our teachers, her mother’s illness, and boys, boys, boys. But whenever we went outside, she would start counting.
“What are you doing?” I would ask.
“Counting my steps,” she responded.
“Why?”
She stopped walking to answer me, so she wouldn’t lose count.
“I just have to count them,” she said. “I can’t stop counting them.”
At that age, I had never even heard the word obsession,

To be honest, I never cared for Tucker. I got the impression he was full of himself and it went to his head. The article is spot on, IMO.

@poster #1, I used to listen/watch Carlson and thought he was Conservative. most of what he believed I did too. So my only interest in him now, is what in the world happened to him and wonder if there is a cure for it?

As good an explanation as any. Whatever the cause, he's lost his mind and I studiously avoid his ranting crap.

I listeneed to Tucker. I was always a Conservative so I never thouht of him as an influence on me. As a child I would have beeen bored senseless by a schoolmate like her. Maybe the step-fountng was her escape?
Swisky is very judgmental. As a former psychotherapist she should know not to render an opinion on a personr she has nevwer edxamined.

Does Mr. Carlson think the world and specifically the Middle East would be safer if the Iranians had nuclear weapons? I think not. Iran cannot be trusted when it comes to any kind dealings or keeping to the agreements, that have been put in place by mutual negotiations. They will lie to your face and smile while they do it.

knowing zero about psychology, .... but I wonder, Tucker has never been actually principled, ever, and i wonder whether he has been seized by the mystery of Judaism, and it is like a boy who deliberately annoys a pretty girl, he just can' t stop wrestling and trying to subdue the first deep mystery he ever noticed?

I think this article goes too easy on Tuck-Tuck. But then again, I never trusted him as far as I could kick him--and neither did Rush for that matter.
And for all you Vance lovers, once again, I suggest you do your research.

A few months back, Tucker claims that he was attacked by a demon.
Might be that something is still hanging around in his life.

The word "opportunity" here means ground, or a place. Many Christians even can struggle with spiritual influence when we struggle with un-repented sins. Unforgiveness tops that list.

I used to watch Tucker when he was on Fox, and after Fox, I watched his podcasts. At first, they were very interesting - he had interesting guests and he let them talk without interrupting them. Over time though, I found them less interesting and let my subscription lapse. I don't understand what has happened to him. The Iranians have been a boil on the world's behind since the Carter years, and should have been dealt with years ago. Now that they're on the cusp of developing ICBMs and nuclear warheads, it is up to Trump and the Israelis to clean up the mess.

Coulda used that step counting girl on my team on the Ranger School Land Nav course. I was the assigned step counter one night and danged if I didn't lose count, causing us to miss a couple of the waypoints.. Was lucky to not have gotten recycled, or even kicked out, but since we made it to the final objective because I have an unerring sense of direction, the cadre took pity on me.

I can't disagree more with this author's repudiation of Tucker Carlson or who "dare to question" our unquestioned financial support of Israel. I suspect many who claim to have "never liked" Carlson, or to have "never listened" to him, are either hypocrites, or outright liars. Everyone "loved" Carlson when he was fighting the good fight against Joe Biden and leftists on his always top-rated, Fox News show. So spare me with the righteous indignation.
-----
This author, who once wrote the below (available here: https://www.thepostemail.com/2025/11/19/guess-what-youre-jewish/)
From that linked article:
"The politician gave such an eloquent and informed answer, sprinkling his response with historical facts, literary allusions, and even dashes of humor, that when he completed his answer, Steve said, “Damn…that is one brilliant guy!
Reflexively, I expressed what I’ve privately suspected for ages when witnessing similar scenarios: “He’s probably Jewish!”
Steve laughed, but I meant it."
------
So, according to this author's perspicacity, only Jews are eloquent and intelligent. Some would refer to this as, "Racial Arrogance," which, as Heinrich Himmler and the Third Reich have since proven, is as unhealthy for the individual, as it is for the society.
I've yet to hear Tucker call for violence against ANYONE, especially the Jews or Israel, yet the author imagines a Groyper lurking behind every shrub, awaiting Tucker's call, ordering the attack! s/o Such nonsense is uncalled for in this country, especially when being short of actual evidence that would be admissible in any Court of Law.
Israel's, "un-Registered Foreign Agents," operating under the guise of, "Dual Citizens," act very much like spoiled-rotten brats prostrating themselves in fevered tantrums whenever "daddy" merely hints at withholding funds for one of their much-adored, lavish extravagances. We, as Americans, have the right and obligation to ask questions regarding taxpayer funds being sent to ANY country, or even the U.N., or subsidiary organizations. At what point can the United States be allowed to treat Israel as we treat any country of strategic importance to our nation? I would argue that Taiwan is today FAR more important to the United States strategically, than Israel. Yet, we NEVER see Taiwanese lobbyists haranguing Congressional representatives through a massive lobbying organization. In fact, it wasn't until Tucker, on his Podcast, brought up how the Israel Lobby uses Jewish-American citizens to lobby each and every single Representative and Senator on Capitol Hill, and none of them are required to "Register" as Foreign Lobbyists. The DOJ has prosecuted un-Registered Foreign Agents before, and it carries significant penalty under law, understandably so, and shortly after that episode, Tucker was, "marked for destruction" by the highly intolerant, "Israel First" Lobby.
If there is anyone out there suffering from "Aggressive Obsession," perhaps it's nothing more than" Projection," or as Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ put it almost two-thousand years ago -
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"
Matthew 7:3

My exposure to Tucker is from the postings on this site. What I recall was that he received great praise. Then he seemed to fall from grace because of some of the people he interviewed. Now, this with the Jews has brought the guns to bear. My impression was that Tucker was trying different things. He was looking at different points of view. Some of which clearly didn't go with his "Mr. Conservative Opinion" pigeonhole. It was his show, and he was running it his way. He has a lot of talent, and maybe he is squandering it. It's his to do as he pleases. I don't think he should be tied in with some of the other podcasters out there. I see two sides to his interviews. One is his giving a voice to those I would rather not be given a mic to spread, and legitimize their trash, but it's his show. The other is, I think, the idea of having "controversial" guests on to hear a different perspective is okay. He's become a newspaper with good interviews and bad, and the next day it's used to wrap last night's fish in. He seems to be feeling his way around what he wants to become. It makes him who he is, which. seems to be a very independent voice. However, he is stepping on the toes of those who once cared about him and were loyal to him, and there is a price to pay, which is a bad idea.

#13, so very true! It's still hard to for me to believe that I could land navigate at all back then. I was a "Winter Ranger" with a bunch of West Pointers and other Officers in my Class. We had about a dozen Battalion guys, and most of us made it through on the first pass. Looking back, I'm amazed we did it without "RASP" and the preparations for the course that they do today.
Q: What are you if you only have 701 points at the end?
A: A Ranger.
