A key Senate committee voted 8-7 on Thursday to advance President Donald Trump’s nominee to be the next secretary of the Department of Homeland SecurityThe vote in the Senate Homeland Security Committee sends Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., to the full Senate for consideration one day after a contentious confirmation hearing. The committee is divided between eight Republicans and seven Democrats. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who chairs the committee, voted against Mullin after taking him to task for “anger issues” at his hearing one day earlier.

Comments:

I am a fan of both Fetterman and Mullin. Rand Paul is a prissy little twit of no aomplishment.

Can we please get our MAGA houses in order? So sick of Rand Paul; he reminds me too much of John McCain. His vote against Mullin was personal and not done in the best interest of his constituents. Paul has clearly forgotten why his behind was sent to Washington.

Just when Fetterman gets his mind back, the democrats will probably banish him. Rand Paul has turned into an Adam Schiff with a little more hair.

Mullen obviously isn’t a big fan of Rand Paul and no one is bothered about that but Rand Paul. His no vote accomplished nothing but embarrassment to himself for being thin skinned. Politics is not for sissies and it ain’t about him.

In the next few days, much more about the overall investigative review underway in Florida will begin to surface. The review has been led by USAO Jason A. As with all investigations containing multiple players and actors, the first investigative information is extracted from testimony by those furthest away from the principals, yet closest to the granular details of the events being reviewed. An audio clip of a conversation between Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad and top Iranian generals is now going viral. The recording, believed to be a chilling warning issued after the launch of Israel’s Operation Rising Lion on June 13, suggests that the generals were told to flee before the deadly strike. The tone was cold, the message crystal clear: “You’re on our list right now.” One of at least 20 such calls placed to high-ranking Iranian officials was recorded and obtained by The Washington Post. The audio captures an Israeli intelligence operative, likely from Mossad, telling a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general,

Cali Dems thought they had everything all figured out. They had a plan, and it was working like a finely oiled machine. Until it suddenly wasn’t. Years ago, Dems rolled out the “top-two” primary system with one assumption baked in for good measure: no matter what happens, two Democrats would likely always make it to the general election. It was supposed to lock in control, sideline Republicans, and keep everything nice and predictable. And for a while, sure, it worked. But these kinds of machines only work if your side stays disciplined. You need a clear front-runner, maybe two, and everyone else falls in line. But that’s not what’s happening now.

Does Election Day actually mean Election Day? That’s the key issue the U.S. Supreme Court is going to consider when it holds oral arguments in a pivotal elections case next week.Known as Watson v. RNC, the legal dispute centers around a challenge to a Mississippi law allowing election officials to accept mail-in ballots up to five business days after Election Day so long as they are postmarked on or before the day of the contest. The issue of accepting late-arriving ballots has become a prominent issue in elections in recent years, with more than a dozen states permitting such a practice.

Some places, like California, have tried exit taxes. New York Governor Kathy Hochul begged wealthy New Yorkers to return to fund her fraudulent, expensive welfare programs. Useful idiots in California want to bend the knee to Islam, removing all doubt that this state can be saved. In 2022, California Gov. Gavin Newsom broke ground on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing (WAWC), a project featuring an overpass for animals atop ten lanes of the 101 Freeway in Southern California. At the ceremony, Newsom boasted that the state had committed $54 million. He promised to “complete the job within another $10 million,” before seeming to hedge on whether that final sum would do the trick. Officials projected a 2025 completion date for the overpass, and estimated that the entire project — which includes the bridge and other ancillary developments — would cost $92 million, some of it coming from private philanthropists.

Given Iran’s half century of cruel barbarism in the Middle East, it’s hard to understand why the Democrats seem to be rooting for them in the current war. I have two theories. One is the obvious one. The Dems are not so much rooting for Iran, as rooting against Iran’s enemy. Bad as Iran is, its enemy is even worse in the eyes of the Dems. Iran’s enemy, you see – or at least the Dems see – has a history of its own cruel barbarism going back to at least 1619. Iran’s enemy has engaged in genocide against native people. There was a time when Carlson was fully Team Trump. Carlson often appeared at Trump rallies as part of the warmup act. But in the past year, he has tried to lead the MAGA base away from Trump and down a very dark path.
