War with Iran was inevitable, so Trump

Iran consistently promoted and sponsored terror throughout the Middle East and the world. They’ve been chanting “Death to America” for half a century. They’ve been working on a nuclear bomb for decades. Their radical Islami-fascist theocracy repeatedly vowed to wipe Israel off the map, because they believed Allah willed it. War with Iran was therefore inevitable. The only question was when. We could have waited for Iran to attack us. America’s unspoken policy over the years, after all, has been not to attack an adversary until the adversary attacks us first.

We're hopeful that the Iranian gvt that eventually forms is quite a bit less fanatical and more friendly towards the West. Any Iran that doesn't sponsor world terrorism, or seeks nuclear weapons, or vows to destroy the infidels, could be a welcome addition to the globe in 2026. Cuba will be in play, too. Cuba's GDP prior to the communst revolution was higher than Japan's in the 50;s. Imagine a world with a free Cuba and a free Iran.

The leftist Democrats keep harping that Iran was no threat to the USA since they did not have missiles with long enough range to reach the USA so Trump has no reason to attack Iran. In reality there are enough ways that the Iranians could have attacked the continental USA with the missives they have now, all the Ayatollah had to do is nod his head.. One way that could be done is to covertly load up their current missiles on a nondescript commercial ship flying some third country flag, then by sailing that ship maybe a hundred miles off the coast of the USA, and then fire whatever missiles they had on board, maybe using chemical warheads, aiming them at Washington, DC, and New York City, that is before being sunk! So you can see that there are ways that Iran could have attacked the USA using their current missiles and munitions.

Wouldn't it be something if in a few years, Iran, Cuba and Venezuela are not only free but beginning to become prosperous and safe countries. And Greenlanders will be kicking themselves thinking..oh boy, what did we do?

I agree #3. Been explaining that very scenario to people for years. Iran has a container launched missile system. You can bet they had this in mind. An EMP blast over the Appalachian area would affect 80% of America's population.

Catching the top leadership all in one place and above ground was a brilliant piece of intelligence that the Israelis pulled off. This is the main reason that Iran is floundering three days later and shooting missiles willy nilly across the middle east. Regardless of what our feckless democrats are saying, seeing the Iranian people celebrating across the world gives both countries a large boost in respectability. Thank you President Trump.

Gavin Newson to Blacks: Vote for me because

In his quest for the Presidency, Gavin Newsom has a few things to overcome. First, he’s burdened with all that great hair. Second, he’s the Governor of the State of California, which used to be a great-state-to-go-to, but is now a-great-state-to-be-from. Third, he’s a victim of white privilege. I know, I know, white privilege is a privilege, not a liability. The problem, however, is that in order to run for President, he first has to win the Democrat nomination (notwithstanding the Joe Biden 2024 rule). Many of the people who vote in Democrat primaries see whiteness as a liability.

The modern world runs on energy. Petroleum products heat homes and power cars, airplanes and ships. Electricity runs computers and appliances, produces light, and powers an increasing number of cars and a few trains. Electricity is a “high” form of energy which can be used for almost anything. The least efficient use is to simply route it through a resistive wire to generate heat. It does that very well, but it’s a waste of this high form of energy. As a source of heat, electricity is about as effective as rubbing two sticks together.

The latest rationalization from the Left for illegal immigration is that nothing is illegal in America because America itself is illegal because it’s on “stolen land.” That’s a non sequitur. An illegal act does not become legal simply because the victim is a trespasser. If a stranger breaks into your house while you’re on vacation and illegally occupies it, it’s not legal for another stranger to enter the house to shoot the first stranger while he’s sleeping. Besides, all nations are on “stolen land.” All of Europe, for example, is on land “stolen” from Neanderthals that “modern” humans killed or assimilated.
Colorado must choose between wolves and cows 11 replies

I wrote a piece last year firmly supporting the reintroduction of wolves into Colorado to share the mountain landscape with cattle ranchers. I’ve changed my mind. My reasoning at the time was that wolves are part of the natural landscape here. They help the huge deer and elk herds by taking the old and weak out for dinner. As a lifelong hiker and mountaineer, I also liked the mere idea of having wolves in the Colorado mountains even if I never saw one (and I never have). After all, they’d been here for millions of years until they were eradicated in the 20th century. As for wolves’ occasional predation on cattle,

A reader emailed me recently to say he disagreed with my position on an issue. That’s fine, I get such emails all the time, and I typically respond to them. I’ve had some good discussions that way. The funny thing about this one, however, is that the reader never walked me through the substance of his counterargument. Instead, he told me he usually liked my stuff because it is pretty logical, but in his judgment this particular piece was not. He didn’t say what was illogical about it He implied that he would stop reading my work if I persisted in these unspecified illogicalities. I think he intended that as a threat.

Last year, more people moved out of Colorado to other states than vice versa. Interstate “net migration” was negative. After factoring in births, the state’s overall population increased less than half a percent. That’s the lowest since the oil and gas bust of 1989 nearly a half century ago. These figures put Colorado in the bottom half of population growth. We’re 29th of the 50 states. Neighboring Utah grew at the fifth-highest rate, so Colorado can’t blame it on the demise of the carbon-spewing, environment-wrecking, injury-causing, traffic-jamming ski industry which is mired in a record snow drought.

Both are a little north of one million. Of those, around 400,000 are deaths. (For the Ukrainians, both are a little lower, so far.) Most observers thought the Russians would overrun Kyiv in weeks. But they’ve now have been at war in Ukraine longer – four years – than America was at war in WWII. And there’s no end in sight. Recent Russian advances are measured not in kilometers, but meters. Russian troop morale is as bad as you would expect. Nobody goes to Eastern Europe for outdoor winter camping where your tentmate sleeping next to you sometimes gets blown to bits.

Three-quarters of a million people were killed in the American Civil War, and another half million were wounded – many grievously. That was in a country with a population of less than a tenth of today’s America. The equivalent deaths in today’s America would be about eight million. That’s something like 20x the American deaths in WWII. Much of Atlanta was burned to the ground in the Civil War, as were large sections of Charleston, Vicksburg and Richmond. Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by a southern sympathizer near the end of the war, five days after General Robert E. Lee surrendered the main Confederate army.

Alex Pretti did something foolish and illegal at the protest in Minneapolis. He interfered with law enforcement agents. There will be debates for days if not years about whether his illegal interference with the cops, the discovery of his gun, and his violent resistance justified them shooting him. In considering that issue, I urge readers to consider it not from the warm comfort of their recliner while watching slow-motion videotapes interspersed with football highlights, but from the perspective of cops who are being taunted, spat upon, name-called, and threatened with being run over by organized protesters in the bitter
There’s such a thing as sex 5 replies

The 14th Amendment and the civil rights laws have long been interpreted to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex. That has meant that it’s illegal to discriminate in hiring, college admissions, public accommodations, and so on, against a man for just being a man or a woman for just being a woman. Ah, if only things were still so simple. One early wrinkle in the law involved “disparate impact.” In some fields, women predominate and in other fields men do. For example, men predominate in playing chess, doing high-level mathematics, and being firefighters. Despite concerted efforts to attract more women to those fields, that continues to be the case.

OK, it’s not technically true that ski conditions right now are worse than ever. The snowpack at Colorado ski resorts today (Jan. 16, 2026) is not worse than the snowpack in, say, an average August. But for this time of year, the Colorado snowpack is officially the worst on record. That’s right, since the time they’ve been keeping records of the Colorado snowpack, this is the lowest it’s ever been for mid-January. It’s barely half the normal. The forecast for the next ten days is more of the same – warm and dry. My eyes confirm all this.

The federal income tax is abusive. It is inconsistent with liberty. It has, as Chief Justice John Marshall noted, the power to destroy. There is nothing positive to be said about it. It cannot even raise government revenues efficiently. As we said a year ago, of all the good Donald Trump could do in his second term, eliminating the federal income tax would be one of his greatest achievements. It’s clearly one of his goals. “As time goes by, I believe the tariffs paid for by foreign countries will, like in the past, substantially replace the modern-day system of income tax,” Trump said during his State of the Union address.

Fatima Iqbal-Zubair is a candidate for the state’s 65th Assembly District and her husband, Fazlul Zubair, is an engineer manager for Raytheon, the New York Post reported Monday. The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation targeting Iran on Saturday in part to ensure the regime will never have the capability to threaten the world with nuclear weapons, according to Breitbart News.

The outpouring of joy on the streets of LA is impossible to ignore. Thousands of Iranian-Americans lined Wilshire Boulevard on Saturday and Sunday to celebrate the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes that, they hope, will bring down the Iranian regime. On Westwood Boulevard, in the heart of “Tehrangeles,” there were raucous cheers inside Persian restaurants. Flags hung everywhere — the sterile tulip of the Islamic Republic replaced by the lion-and-sun of the previous era. The Iranian people, at home and abroad, believe that freedom is at hand, and that President Donald Trump is bringing the redemption for which they have waited for decades.

When you’ve constructed a cartoon version of the world in your mind, what do you do when reality proves it wrong? If you’re the leftist establishment, you certainly don’t rethink your assumptions. Late Friday, New York Times columnist David French snarkily referred to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth as a “walking MAGA caricature” on X. Four hours later, Hegseth’s troops were pounding Iran in an intricate series of strikes that left its evil regime reeling. The response to French — who has not withdrawn his sneer — was unsympathetic. My favorite: “Let’s have a contest … you and Pete show up at Fort Bragg, see who the troops respect more.”
