The State Department on Sunday issued a warning to U.S. citizens in certain parts of Mexico to shelter in place until further notice on account of “ongoing security operations and related road blockages and criminal activity.”
The regions listed in the advisory include the Mexican states of Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guerrero and Nuevo Leon. The warning came after the Mexican army killed the powerful leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, or “El Mencho,” on Sunday, Mexico’s Ministry of Defense said in a statement on the social platform X.

Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith on Friday blasted the Democratic members of Congress who plan to boycott President Trump’s State of the Union address this week, calling it “the kind of stuff that ticks me off.”
“You see, when you go to the American people and you ask the American people, ‘Yo, stand up, step up and hand them your business, stop b—-ing and screaming all the time when you’ve got problems at the job, when you’ve got bills to pay, when you’ve got a family to take care of, find a way to work around it, adhere to your business,’ how come that can’t apply to elected officials?”

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico issued an emergency shelter‑in‑place alert on Sunday, warning Americans to remain indoors as cartel violence erupted across multiple states following the Mexican military’s killing of CJNG leader Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera. The alert covers Jalisco, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guerrero, and Nuevo León, where roadblocks, burning vehicles, and armed clashes have shut down travel and triggered widespread flight cancellations. As violence erupted across the region, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Mexico issued a security alert, warning, “Due to ongoing security operations and related road blockages and criminal activity, U.S. citizens in the named locations should shelter in place until further notice.”

The California political machine is officially in panic mode.
With the June 2026 primary fast approaching, a shocking new reality is setting in for the Golden State’s Democrat establishment: the very voting system they championed could shut them out of the Governor’s mansion completely.
Unlike most states that hold partisan primaries, California dumps all candidates from all parties into one single primary election.
The only rule?
The top two vote-getters advance to the general election
Party affiliation doesn’t matter
That means:
If Democrats split their vote among multiple candidates, and Republicans consolidate behind just one or two, it is entirely possible for two Republicans to advance to the November runoff, shutting Democrats out completely.

On Sunday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff, Ric Bradshaw, announced the identity of the man shot and killed trying to enter President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. The intruder has been identified as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin of North Carolina. That's uncomfortably close, although the president wasn't present, nor were any other Secret Service protectees.
RedState's own Susie Moore covered the story as it broke earlier on Sunday: An assassination attempt? President Trump is often at Mar-a-Lago on weekends, although it's not difficult to ascertain his whereabouts on any given day. But, President Trump has attracted his fair share of attention from nutcase would-be assassins.

RedState has been keeping readers in the loop on the controversy surrounding the major sewage spill into the Potomac River, affecting Washington, D.C., and nearby areas.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that "as a result of incompetent Local and State Management of Essential Waste Management Systems," namechecking Democrat Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, "[t]he Federal Government has no choice, but to step in. FEMA, which is currently being defunded by the Democrats, will play a key role in coordinating the response.".

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds,” Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote. The Democrats might repeat Emerson’s motto, but they go one better. They eschew all forms of consistency—except one. Today, since the Supreme Court just ruled against Trump’s use of the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose tariffs, the Dems are in a festive mood and are happy to praise the Court. No worries, Trump has recourse to many other statutes to pursue his economic policies. That was something the Left began to realize by Friday afternoon, when Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent set forth their plans for a workaround.

Former Vice President Mike Pence just reminded the MAGA movement what a duplicitous traitor he is — and always has been.
On Friday afternoon, Justices John Roberts, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch joined the court’s three liberal members to strike down President Trump’s signature tariff policy, a central tenet of his 2024 campaign.
Pence, who is widely despised across the conservative grassroots, took to the X platform to celebrate the decision:
Today’s 6-3 ruling by the Supreme Court is a Victory for the American People and a Win for the Separation of Powers enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.

Remember during the first year of the Trump 2.0 administration, when the Justice Department started cleaning house, as part of the process of fixing the immigration system left in tatters by former Pres. Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris? As we wrote, over 100 immigration court judges were either fired or left of their own accord. In another part of the change-over, the Defense Department brought in hundreds of lawyers from the military ranks to serve as judges. That seems to have kicked things into high gear. Syracuse University's TRAC program showed that almost 80 percent of asylum seekers were deported in the last quarter of 2025.

This week, former Obama advisor and current Netflix board member Susan Rice pulled back the curtain on what Democrats plan to do once they’re back in power, and it was pretty fascist.
On Preet Bharara’s podcast, Obama’s scandal-scarred former U.N. ambassador promised that any corporation, law firm, university, or media outlet that “took a knee to Trump” will be targeted when the left is back in charge. “It’s not gonna end well for them,” she warned, casting basic engagement with the Trump administration as a kind of original sin that must be punished.
And now President Donald Trump wants accountability.
On Saturday, Trump called on Netflix to fire Rice.

John Healey said in May that the Government faced a legal challenge “within weeks” if it did not agree to the handover to Mauritius of the islands, including the Diego Garcia military base.
He told MPs the “most potentially serious” threat came from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, which handles maritime disputes. But the Government has now admitted there is an exception to United Nations maritime laws for “disputes concerning military activities”.
The Tories said this admission showed Labour’s legal arguments in favour of handing over the British Indian Ocean Territory to Mauritius had “completely collapsed”.
