CNN data analyst Harry Enten branded the early Democratic contest for the 2028 presidential election a “downright clown car” and “total mess” with “no clear frontrunner” – a point he noted was “very unusual” even at this early stage. (Snip) “Yeah, they’re all running and this is just a downright clown car at this point on the Democratic side,” Enten said, pointing to early polling that shows Newsom at 19%, followed closely by former Vice President Kamala Harris at 18%. “Quite a weak number for her, given that of course, she was the nominee last time around,” commented Enten. The armed madman who was shot and killed by the Secret Service after he snuck onto President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate Sunday was reportedly obsessed with the Jeffrey Epstein files — and implored others to “raise awareness” just days before the deadly encounter. Austin Tucker Martin, 21, was gunned down by local Florida police and members of the Secret Service after he brandished his shotgun in a “shooting position” on Trump’s property, authorities said. He was reported missing by his family after he vanished Saturday. His mother, Melissa Martin, made a missing person poster for him, describing the silver Volkswagen he

An armed man was shot and killed by the Secret Service in the early hours of the morning after unlawfully entering the secure perimeter at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago in Florida. The man, in his early 20s, was holding what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can as he tried to enter Trump's Palm Beach residence, the Secret Service said. He was neutralized by a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office around 1.30am on Sunday. The deceased man's identity has not been released. President Trump had been attending the Governors Dinner in Washington DC on Saturday night.

MINNEAPOLIS — The middle of winter – especially January – is not always kind to restaurant owners. Just ask Gavin Kaysen. "It's usually the slower time of year," Kaysen, whose Soigné Hospitality restaurant group owns several Minneapolis restaurants. "You couple that with really cold weather, that doesn't help, and then you add everything else that has happened to us." (Snip) "Majority of all of my colleagues have seen 30 to 50% decline, you know, 30% probably on the weekends, 50% during the weekdays," he said. "It's a nonsustainable future." Kaysen says his restaurant, Spoon and Stable, lost more than $70,000

Kamala Harris is topping some new polls of Democratic White House contenders, a sign the former vice president and 2024 presidential nominee has staying power despite her defeat to President Trump. It’s a reality that flies in the face of some of the talk after that race, in which Democrats talked about turning the page, with some calling for the party to move on from a stale playbook and to look for new leaders. It all underscores the paradox Democrats are facing in their rebuilding efforts: Which parts of their messaging and leadership do they want to overhaul, and what

The Minneapolis City Council debated the renewal of two liquor licenses on Tuesday, focusing on two hotels allegedly housing federal agents during Operation Metro Surge. In January, protesters descended on both the Depot and the Canopy hotels, believing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were staying inside. Some protesters faced off with Minnesota state troopers after an unlawful assembly was declared. Hospitality union members spoke to the council about the license renewals, explaining that some employees from the hotels have expressed fear over ICE agents staying there. "We believe that a liquor license is a privilege and that privilege should be

Mayor Zohran Mamdani laid out two potential paths Tuesday to close what he says is a $5.4 billion dollar budget gap in New York City. In one, Albany would raise taxes on the richest New Yorkers. In the other, the City would raise property taxes for the first time since the late 2000s. The City could generate $3.7 billion by raising the property tax by 9.5%, Mamdani said. (Snip) “If we do not go down the first path, the city will be forced down a second, more harmful path. Faced with no other choice…we would have to raise property taxes.

Palantir is relocating its headquarters to Miami from Denver, the company announced Tuesday in a post to social media platform X. The software analytics firm is the latest big business to migrate to South Florida as executives seek to transform the region into a hub for innovation. Florida, which offers a friendlier tax environment, has welcomed a wave of billionaires in recent years. The region is also gaining more executives as California deliberates over a 5% wealth tax on residents with a net worth exceeding $1 billion. Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly bought a mansion in Florida and

The utterly despicable and mentally ill shooter who murdered his wife and children during a mass shooting event in Rhode Island identified as transgender. The lesson that comes from encouraging mentally ill people to indulge their insanity and to express violent hatred against those who do not affirm their illness is written in the blood of children killed at the high school hockey game. How many transgender shooters does it take to stop leftists from lauding the delusion that one can change one’s biological sex and demand everyone agree? It seems that shooter Robert Dorgan’s wife and children did not

NEW YORK CITY – The state government will help pull New York City out of a financial crisis with a $1.5 billion in support over two years, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Monday. The announcement comes just one day before Mayor Zohran Mamdani is expected to reveal his preliminary budget, which must address a massive shortfall. Mamdani initially estimated the budget gap was around $12 billion, but recently revised his projection to around $7 billion. The massive sum includes funding for youth programming, sales tax receipts, public health and other priorities yet to be determined, Hochul and Mamdani said. “A strong

PORTLAND, Ore. — A petition to ban hunting in Oregon is picking up steam. Animal rights advocates are fighting to change the law in Oregon, including banning most hunting, fishing and animal research. One of the people leading the charge of getting this petition out there says they have been trying to get this on the ballot for years, getting more and more signatures each time, though he knows it won’t likely pass. Supporters call the proposal the PEACE Act, short for People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions. “We really want to make Oregon the first state to

DENVER — A bill introduced into the Colorado State Senate last week would make Colorado the first state in the U.S. to fully decriminalize prostitution if it became law. Senate Bill 26-097 would require the entire state to decriminalize “commercial sexual activity among consenting adults,” both for people who buy sex and who would sell it. This would be unique in the U.S., as the only other states with any form of legal prostitution, Maine and Nevada, still have certain rules around it. In Nevada, for instance, prostitution is only legal within licensed houses of prostitution, or brothels, and some
