The problem was the show’s conceit: It was a message of unity, inclusion, and togetherness — in a language that 85% of the population doesn’t understand and cannot speak.
That’s not unity. That’s division.
Lo siento, Bad Bunny and/or the NFL, but the underlying metrics of the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show didn’t make a lick of sense:
Only about 14% to 18% of the U.S. population speaks fluent Spanish — which means, of course, that 86% to 82% do not.
Only 14% of the NFL’s total audience is Hispanic.
The number of Latinos/Hispanics who speak English exclusively is growing, not shrinking:

Donald Trump has called Bad Bunny's all-Spanish Super Bowl halftime show 'one of the worst ever' and a 'slap in the face' to America.
The US President said the rapper's gig was 'absolutely terrible' and that there was 'nothing inspirational' about choosing a star who didn't perform in English.
Mr Trump was also deeply unhappy about some of the suggestive dancing because the Puerto Rican artist repeatedly grabbed his crotch and there were women twerking on stage (snip) ''It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn't represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence'.

Olympic athletes aren't stumbling into competition by accident; years of training, taxpayer-backed facilities, national governing bodies, corporate sponsors, and a county willing to invest all come together to push the select few onto the world's stage.
Displaying the flag on their uniform represents far more than any fashion choice or personal mood, yet every Olympic cycle seems to attract competitors who want the benefits without sharing the burden of gratitude.
U.S. freestyle skier Hunter Hess, a Team USA member, recently voiced his mixed emotions about representing America, citing immigration enforcement and political disagreements. He determined that the flag on his chest represents friends, family, and personal ideals over government

Representative Ilhan Omar is one of the most sanctimonious corrupt Democrats in congress, and she’s loud and proud about it because she understands how to engage in financial fraud safely. Just do what everyone else is doing but do it bigger, that way there’s no way her peers can approach it.
Someone in DC gave House Oversight Chairman James Comer the familiar tap on the shoulder and told him they don’t investigate their own Uniparty tribe. So, Comer drops his planned review of Omar’s corruption and shifts it to the ethics team.

A radical left-wing group in Los Angeles has published a shocking 40-page roadmap to transform the nation’s second-largest city into a bizarre socialist experiment.
The Democratic Socialists of America’s LA chapter wants to straight-up seize private property through a “creative use of eminent domain,” take control of your neighborhood grocery store, and replace cops with unarmed social workers while shutting down jails.
Their Communist fever dream wishlist includes banning Airbnbs, grabbing golf courses for public housing, allowing non-citizen immigrants to vote in local elections, enforce a school curriculum that supports social justice and eliminating all fossil fuel use by 2035. The 3,500 member group has already helped elect several candidates

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Seattle Seahawks used a dominant defense and the strong running of game MVP Kenneth Walker III on Sunday to crush the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX.
It was the Seahawks’ second Super Bowl title in four appearances. It came 12 years after Seattle defeated Denver 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII -- a fitting nod to the 12th man that has fueled the energy at Seahawks’ home games.
The game, before 70,823 fans at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, showcased a punishing, opportunistic defense by the Seahawks that rendered Patriots quarterback Drake Maye mostly ineffective all night.

The worst-case scenario for Olympian Lindsey Vonn came just seconds into the women's downhill final in Cortina, Italy, on Sunday afternoon.
Vonn's body struck a gate as she made her first big jump less than 13 seconds into her run, altering her momentum and direction, prompting a scary crash as she flung sideways and bombed out.
The race was on hold for more than 20 minutes as Vonn was tended to on the course. The scene at Tofane Alpine Skiing Centre was eerily quiet, as thousands at the bottom of the mountain, including Vonn's family, were left stunned and largely speechless.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore announced on Feb. 8 that he was uninvited from a dinner at the White House for the nation’s governors.
Moore wrote on his website that his exclusion undermined bipartisanship and was possibly racially motivated. “As the nation’s only black governor, I can’t ignore that being singled out for exclusion from this bipartisan tradition carries an added weight—whether that was the intent or not,” he said.
Other Democratic governors, such as Colorado’s Jared Polis and California’s Gavin Newsom, also reported being uninvited from the dinner.

Today must be my day for trashing Pravda. Already, I have trashed Peggy Noonan's lament for the Washington Post, and contrasted her fantastical idea of what the media's relationship to truth is with the fact that the Post lionizes Adam Schiff as a model Democrat who is trying to save democracy.
Noonan writes for The Wall Street Journal, so I trashed it. The Washington Post is the "gold standard" for political coverage, and I trashed them.
So next, I need to trash the New York Times to complete a trifecta.
Jamelle Bouie gives me that opportunity, as it happens. He is a columnist for the Times and has been called

What we know
The FBI released surveillance photos and videos of a potential subject in the investigation into the disappearance of “TODAY” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mother.
The four images depict a person wearing gloves, a mask, and a backpack appearing to tamper with the camera at Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the potential subject is armed.
The FBI said yesterday that it had not identified any suspects or persons of interest.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was dropped off at her home outside Tucson, Arizona, the night of Jan. 31 and was reported missing about noon Feb. 1.

Former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has quietly taken a role as a Visiting Scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, an institution long entangled with Chinese influence networks, foreign government funding, and open-borders activism. (snip) For over a decade, Carnegie has maintained a documented relationship with the China-United States Exchange Federation -- a core instrument of the Chinese Communist Party's United Front Work Department, whose stated purpose is to "co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition" and steer foreign elites toward Beijing's preferred positions.

Democrats push hard for every possible advantage in elections, but courts sometimes draw a line.
U.S. District Judge William L. Osteen Jr. delivered a ruling that defined those lines by rejecting a Democratic demand for early voting sites on three North Carolina university campuses. His ruling carried an unmistakable tone of impatience toward a case that tried to dress political convenience as constitutional necessity. The College Democrats of North Carolina argued that without on-campus sites, students would need to travel off campus to vote, imposing time and transportation burdens on young voters.
That's the premise Judge Osteen rejected, making clear that elections aren't built to require perfect comfort;
Comments:
It was previously reported that PDJT was inviting only Republican governors. GThatg doesn't keep racist Moore from trying to make his being "uninvited" a racial issue.
