'A Slap In The Face'

Original Article

Posted By: earlybird, 2/9/2026 1:34:53 PM

Donald Trump has called Bad Bunny's all-Spanish Super Bowl halftime show 'one of the worst ever' and a 'slap in the face' to America. The US President said the rapper's gig was 'absolutely terrible' and that there was 'nothing inspirational' about choosing a star who didn't perform in English. Mr Trump was also deeply unhappy about some of the suggestive dancing because the Puerto Rican artist repeatedly grabbed his crotch and there were women twerking on stage (snip) ''It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn't represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence'.

Comments:

PDJT thought it exvceptionally inappropriate with kids watching around the world...

If it had been performed in English, the FCC would have closed it down 5 minutes in to the "performance".

Watched the first half of the Stupor Bowl then switched to the half time show in English. Never went back to watch the second half. Just another football game so I don't see anything super about it. Has been politicized and extravaganzied for years. This one was especially bad all around. Next year will likely be worse.

The NFL was ok with this. That's why they picked this clown. Besides, maybe the NFL doesn't have much of a choice of performers to choose from when it comes to halftime performers. Maybe the number of performers that want to do a halftime show is small. Maybe they should have college marching bands perform and just have a regular halftime. The super bore is so over hyped by the NFL the game itself has become boring.

I watched till halftime because a local guy, Hunter Henry, was playing (I practiced law with his grandfather, Skip Henry). Delighted he was a team captain and I think he represented Arkansas very well. Too bad about the half-time trash, that's when I quit watching.

How is performing a show entirely in Spanish with a predominately English-speaking audience bringing America together? I was a guest, and the channel wasn't changed. Luckily, I didn't understand a word he was singing. I did like the dancing senoritas, when I bothered to watch. I wouldn't be surprised to learn the fix was in to let the Patsies score a TD so a mafia boss could cover his bet.

Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Vice-Chairman, Mark Warner, a man of exceptionally dubious intelligence, appears on Face the Nation for a pre-scripted interview with CBS’s Margaret Brennan. (snip)Within President Trump’s second term in office, Warner’s primary concern is having a Director of National Intelligence (DNI) who doesn’t conform to the goals and objectives of the Fourth Branch of government, the intelligence apparatus. In reality, DNI Tulsi Gabbard appears to be methodically taking apart the intelligence community weaponization system. This, when combined with Gabbard’s review of election integrity issues, has triggered the deep concern of Warner, one of the IC’s primary enablers. WATCH: (video/transcript)

It’s useful, if unserious, for congressional Democrat leaders this week to have issued a list of demands in exchange for votes to fund the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees immigration law enforcement. The administration should see it as a reminder that the default position of Democrats is “pretend to support deporting illegal aliens while overcomplicating the process so as to render it impossible.” Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, both of New York, published the demands in an open letter on Wednesday, detailing 10 things they say are needed to strike a deal on more DHS funding. “Federal immigration agents cannot

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has made a massive ruling in favor of President Trump and the ICE removal process [pdf Ruling Here]. In short, throughout the nation 360 immigration judges had previously ruled that illegal aliens (applicants for admission) should be granted bond and released during the removal proceedings. The Fifth CCA has now ruled the aliens can be detained as they go through the removal process. This means ICE captures the illegal, holds them in detention and then rapidly deports them. The ruling, which will likely be appealed to the supreme court, fast-tracks the removal.

Some critics of the Trump Administration’s enforcement of federal immigration law, including members of the public, the media, and Congress, have made misleading claims about the due process rights that apply in immigration proceedings. Those who claim that non-citizens, referred to in our nation’s immigration laws as aliens, are entitled to the full panoply of constitutional rights enjoyed by American citizens are simply wrong .(snipIn fact, several federal immigration statutes specifically bar aliens from even asserting certain claims in federal courts. Federal courts assuming jurisdiction over such claims by aliens are violating federal law, and any orders they issue ought to be declared void (snip) by an appellate court.

The problem was the show’s conceit: It was a message of unity, inclusion, and togetherness — in a language that 85% of the population doesn’t understand and cannot speak. That’s not unity. That’s division. Lo siento, Bad Bunny and/or the NFL, but the underlying metrics of the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show didn’t make a lick of sense: Only about 14% to 18% of the U.S. population speaks fluent Spanish — which means, of course, that 86% to 82% do not. Only 14% of the NFL’s total audience is Hispanic. The number of Latinos/Hispanics who speak English exclusively is growing, not shrinking:

Democrats push hard for every possible advantage in elections, but courts sometimes draw a line. U.S. District Judge William L. His ruling carried an unmistakable tone of impatience toward a case that tried to dress political convenience as constitutional necessity. The College Democrats of North Carolina argued that without on-campus sites, students would need to travel off campus to vote, imposing time and transportation burdens on young voters. That's the premise Judge Osteen rejected, making clear that elections aren't built to require perfect comfort;

Yet this week saw some victories for the administration along with some serious unfinished business. The ousted dictator Nicolás Maduro seems isolated, depressed, and devoid of funds sufficient to hire teams of lawyers to defend him. Any claims he might have for immunity seem destined to fail.
