Numerous Democratic leaders say their high-migration, low-wage sanctuary city economies are crashing because President Donald Trump is requiring them to comply with national labor laws. “We are now expected to absorb the fiscal consequences of [federal] enforcement activities,” the treasurers of 16 states wrote to President Trump. “This is not acceptable.” The treasurers of Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, Minnesota, and nine other states are asking the federal government to exempt them from national laws that protect Americans’ civil rights, labor, housing, and anti-fraud laws. “We urge your administration to immediately scale back enforcement activities causing this harm

If those laws are hurting those 9 states, then perhaps those laws should be discontinued in EVERY State?

FTA: “We are now expected to absorb the fiscal consequences of [federal] enforcement activities..." Finally! Immigration is a federal responsibility. For years, corrupt states have gotten away with favoring illegal aliens at the expense of their own citizens. Note that corrupt leaders in sanctuary states and cities have never had a problem with shifting the "financial consequences" of imported crime and poverty to US taxpayers all across our country. Every state in the union is suffering from major financial and safety consequences because Dems (and worse) arranged to unleash a flood of unvetted illegals on our soil. It's only fair that those states now deal with the consequences they knowingly inflicted on the rest of our country.

They ask for the "national laws that protect Americans’ civil rights, labor, housing, and anti-fraud laws" be not enforced in their third world hell hole states. No....we must INCREASE enforcement of those laws in their "sanctuary states". MORE protection of Americans, and more deportations of illegals and arrest of criminals.

Not mentioned in the article is that these very states are also mandating $15-$20 an hour minimum wages! So apparently the minimum wages are only for employers who follow the law and only employ eligible workers? or is it all just moral posturing for the national stage and NO ONE is paying minimum wage?? The hypocracy is unbelievable.

Liberal logic. We have to ignore the laws that apply to citizens so that those here illegally can continue to do illegal things. BUT law enforcement (ICE) must ignore federal laws when it comes to illegals and we will place additional restrictions on law enforcement enforcing laws against illegals ( but citizens still must follow laws unless harassing federal law enforcement). These states/cities must be one of Dante's circles of Hell and the state leaders & AGs are Satan's helpers. We are trapped in it.

While the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats want to abolish ICE, all immigration law enforcement throughout the USA, and also do away with the Federal immigration laws that were constitutionally passed by Congress that currently provide that all illegal aliens, those here now, and those who would gain entry to the USA in the future, are subject to arrest and deportation; but instead can just stay in the USA and be transitioned into becoming unlimited millions of future leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat supporters and voters. If the USA is to keep its sovereignty as a constitutional republic and continue to be a developed country, and not be transitioned into some sort of future socialist utopia, those leftist Democrat dreams cannot be allowed to become reality. Common sense will tell you that once the word got out to the wider World that the USA was no longer enforcing immigration laws that foreign countries all over the world, some of who have customs, ideologies, and traditions completely different than such customs and traditions that are historic to the USA, would facilitate the travel and entry to the USA of massive, sometimes criminal, and other unwanted populations from foreign countries to the USA, no doubt many times larger than the current illegal alien population that is estimated to be somewhere between ten and twenty million mostly Third World origin poor and uneducated people, many who would intend to establish their own ethnic, ideologically absolutist (such as Islamic), or racially based communities and have no intention of assimilating into contemporary US society, that no doubt would include covert foreign intelligence and military units sent on missions to disrupt the future USA as much as possible, as the country is being transitioned by the leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrats into some sort of future socialist utopia. Clearly if the current USA was flooded as above with foreign origin people, that whatever type country displaces the current USA would never be able to establish effective immigration laws on into the future. Just saying!

To make it worse, once the Illegal Aliens are established in their sanctuaries they get Diversity, Equity and Inclusion benefits well beyond Welfare and Food Stamps. Their children get preferential admission to State colleges and full free tuition rides. Alien remigration is beneficial because it improves schools, lowers rents, and increases wages. Many of these people do not understand English, read or write, or have ever driven a car.

Nonfarm payrolls increased by 130,000 for January, above the Dow Jones consensus estimate for 55,000, according to seasonally adjusted figures the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Wednesday. The unemployment rate edged lower to 4.3%, below the forecast to stay unchanged at 4.4% from the prior month. A more encompassing measure that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time positions for economic reasons slipped to 8%,

Newly unsealed Department of Justice documents reveal that in July 2006, then businessman Donald Trump was one of the first to call police to warn them about sex predator Jeffrey Epstein. The documents include a previously unreported 2019 FBI interview summary with former Palm Beach police chief Michael Reiter. Trump had contacted the department shortly after reports of Epstein's criminal sex investigation became public. The future president contacted Reiter to express relief that authorities were finally acting, suggesting his associates in New York had described Epstein's behaviors as "disgusting," and advised investigators to focus on Ghislaine Maxwell, whom he described as "evil."

President Donald Trump, in a call two decades ago to a Florida police chief, bashed his former friend Jeffrey Epstein and called Epstein’s procurer, Ghislaine Maxwell, “evil,” the now-retired cop recounted to FBI agents in 2019, according to a document released by the Department of Justice. Trump called the then-Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter “to tell him ‘thank goodness you’ [are] stopping [Epstein], everyone has known he’s been doing this,” Reiter told the FBI in October 2019, according to the FBI document, known as a 302. Reiter’s name is redacted from the 302. But the document identifies the interview subject as the person who had been Palm Beach’s police chief

Two weeks ago, Jonathan Chait was one of many left-wingers who seemed to be declaring victory of ICE and President Trump. Here's a bit of what he was saying. Trump’s retreat in Minneapolis is a stinging defeat for the national conservatives, the Republican Party’s most nakedly authoritarian faction... Trump’s capitulation would never have occurred if not for the heroic, disciplined resistance in Minneapolis. Faced with something like an occupying army that was systematically flouting the law, the people of Minneapolis thrust its abuse into the public eye, raising the political cost of Miller’s war until enough Republicans decided that they couldn’t bear to pay it.

Repealing the so-called endangerment finding, a scientific determination that greenhouse gas emissions endanger human health, would remove the legal foundation for broader greenhouse gas regulation and would mark the Trump administration’s most wide-reaching ‍climate policy rollback. The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that the repeal is expected to be published later this week, and cited EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin saying it would amount to “the largest act of deregulation in the history of the United States.”
