An unsettling scene unfolded on Minneapolis streets over the weekend as anti-ICE activists turned public roadways into impromptu checkpoints and blockades -- while Minneapolis police at one point looked on and walked away. Social media videos show agitators blocking streets with furniture and stopping cars in Minneapolis -- even apparently cross-referencing plates against a database of ICE vehicles before letting drivers through. (snip) When Minneapolis police officers approached and urged [a] group to move [an] obstruction "for fire trucks and ambulances," the protesters didn't budge (snip) and officers eventually left (snip.)

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche fired Ed Martin as Chief of the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group, according to investigative reporter Paul Sperry. Last May President Trump tapped Ed Martin to be the US Pardon Attorney after RINO Senator Tillis derailed his nomination for DC US Attorney. He was also named by Trump to serve as the Justice Department’s Director of the Weaponization Working Group. On Monday it was reported that Ed Martin was removed from his role as Chief of Weaponization at the DOJ. A DOJ spokesperson said Ed Martin is still at the Department as the Pardon Attorney.

The Canadian province of British Columbia (BC) has ended its experiment with legalizing hard drugs, and the consensus among both public officials and citizens is that the program was a complete failure. “This pilot was designed as a time-limited trial with ongoing monitoring built in so we could understand what was working, what wasn’t and where changes were needed. However, the pilot hasn’t delivered the results that we hoped for,” BC health minister Josie Osborne said on January 14 when announcing the impending end of the program. BC legalized possession of up to 2.5 grams of nearly all drugs, including “hard” drugs like heroin, in 2023.

A Minnesota Democratic Party official is urging people on social media to "act neutral" to get seated on a jury and vote to acquit a woman accused of biting off a federal agent's finger tip. Nick Kruse is former vice president of the Minnesota Young DFL and current at-large director of Stonewall DFL. In a Jan. 26 post on X, Kruse wrote that "no one should be going to prison for defending our city against ICE," and encouraged followers to spread information about "jury nullification."

Organizations including the Chinese-American Planning Council and the Chinese Progressive Association — both of which have ties to the Chinese Communist Party’s overseas influence network — are among the signatories urging Congress to defund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol. Those groups joined more than 1,000 organizations in a coordinated letter demanding that lawmakers halt all funding for federal immigration enforcement agencies, a move that would effectively eliminate interior enforcement and deportation operations nationwide. The letter, organized by Amnesty International USA, does not call for reforms or oversight but for the removal of enforcement capacity itself.

Authorities in west Texas and New Mexico are aggressively arresting and prosecuting illegal border crossers in construction zones and for engaging in a common practice at the border: impersonating construction workers. Law enforcement officials in Texas have been apprehending illegal border crossers for years who dress in construction gear, including wearing reflective yellow vests and hard hats, The Center Square has observed. Often times, an entire carload of people will be wearing hard hats, law enforcement officials working through Texas’ Operation Lone Star have found. Once they’re pulled over and can’t speak English, officers quickly learn they’re dealing with illegal border crossers, The Center Square has observed.

Medi-Cal is paying an estimated $608 million per month for cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry services for elderly and disabled low-income California residents – including illegal immigrants – at their homes and mostly paid to their relatives, state records show. These services are part of a federally-and-state-funded program called In-Home Supportive Services, which was designed to get people assistance at home without having to move to an expensive facility. But the program has grown so rapidly that it is responsible for 41% of job gains in California since January 2019, when Gov. Gavin Newsom took office. By the end of 2025, the program had grown to 799,379 taxpayer-funded “providers,” making IHSS

Californians have a right to be angry about Minnesota. It’s getting all the federal government attention for its illegal immigration, street violence, fraud and graft when California, in fact, is the king of all those civic sins. Yes, Minnesota and its lead city, Minneapolis, are impressive in the scale of fraud, estimated currently at billions of dollars, according to the Cato Institute’s recent “Fraud Update.” Not bad for a blue state, especially one with just 5.8 million people. But let’s be honest. Minnesota’s inhabitants are mere pikers compared to those in the Golden State. There, the level of fraud and corruption, immigrant and otherwise, has reached shocking levels.

The Great Untruths That Govern Civilization
aka The Biggest Lies In Human History

The most dangerous lies in human history are not crude falsehoods or cynical deceptions. They are comforting stories—morally flattering, psychologically soothing, and just plausible enough to survive contact with reality for a time. They endure not because they are true, but because they are useful: they reduce guilt, simplify complexity, and promise redemption without tragedy. Civilizations do not fall because they lack intelligence. They fall because they organize themselves around false assumptions about human nature, power, and reality—and then build policies, institutions, and moral frameworks as if those assumptions were permanent truths.

There are reports this week that Cuba is now talking to the Trump administration about the future of the country. Despite those reports, Cuba seems to be publicly denying the talks are even happening. What's going on here? Here's President Trump yesterday saying "we're talking to the people from Cuba." There are reports today indicating Cuba has changed its tone toward the US compared to just a few days ago. Here's the Miami Herald: The Cuban government has exchanged its fierce rhetoric and vows to resist President Donald Trump’s “threats” for a more conciliatory offer to renew cooperation on security matters and maintain a “respectful dialogue” amid increasing diplomatic

Rack 'em up before the Supreme Court cuts the legs out from under Donald Trump's tariff leverage. One has to wonder whether the justices may be waiting for a few more trade agreements to come in line before publishing their ruling on Trump's authority under the IEEPA. Or, perhaps, delaying it just in case Trump can use it to end the war in Ukraine. Trump offered that as a potential outcome from a new trade agreement reached with India today. The agreement will limit reciprocal tariffs to 18% and commits India to invest $500 billion in the US. Most importantly, Trump claims that India
