John Ondrasik hasn’t won a Grammy … yet. The Five for Fighting singer came close with “Superman (It’s Not Easy),” a song that evolved into more than just a Billboard smash over time. “Superman” became part of America’s enduring spirit following the Sept. 11 attacks. So Ondrasik knows a thing or two about both music and culture. It’s why he decided to weigh in on Sunday’s Grammy awards, a night replete with ugly, persistent attacks on ICE agents. (snip) Disturbed lead singer David Draiman shared a similar post regarding the Grammys.

Comments:

I'm not a huge fan of either, but I have to admit I certainly admire their courage in standing up against the anti-ICE, pro-socialist, anti-American values orthodoxy so prevalent in todays music industry. The Grammys are music awards. If they want a platform to spew their leftist views, there is nothing to stop them from buying TV time or magazine ads. Now they get free TV time to spout off about stuff that they don't like and don't realize how juvenile they sound. I don't watch that 'award' show, so I can't boycott their records and appearances, and I don't even care enough to bother with it. Does anybody have a list of the show's sponsors? Might be worth an email to them and letting them know how you feel about their product that you will never buy again.

Senate GOP Can Fix Elections, Boost Trump,

What if I told you Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., has the power and the votes — right now — to save Republicans’ congressional majorities, President Trump’s second-term agenda, and maybe the republic itself, all while poleaxing Democrats on the short side of an 84-15 issue? Requiring voters to prove their citizenship is one of the most popular ideas in the country, with 84 percent of Americans supporting and only 15 percent opposed. That’s why 36 states and most of the world’s developed countries already have it on the books.

Jim Crow is back, you guys! Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer invoked Jim Crow regarding the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which requires proof of citizenship to register to vote. Schumer whined:I have said it before and I’ll say it again, the SAVE Act would impose Jim Crow-type laws to the entire country and is dead on arrival in the Senate,” Schumer said in a statement on Monday. “If House Republicans add the SAVE Act to the bipartisan appropriations package it will lead to another prolonged Trump government shutdown.

Stupidity or Evil: Which is More Dangerous? 8 replies

“Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than evil.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Bonhoeffer’s insight remains one of the most unsettling diagnoses of moral collapse ever written—not because it flatters our intelligence, but because it strips away comforting illusions. Evil, he observed, can be confronted. It can be named, resisted, punished. Stupidity, by contrast, is immune to argument. Facts bounce off it. Evidence is dismissed as irrelevant. Moral reasoning fails not because it is weak, but because it is no longer being received.

The geniuses who are planning New York’s energy future think that they can make intermittent wind and solar generators work to power the electrical grid by the simple device of providing some battery storage. The idea is that when there is abundant wind and sun, they can store up the power for use during those calm and dark periods in the winter. How much battery storage will that take? It’s a simple arithmetic calculation, but none of our supposed experts have taken the trouble to crunch the numbers.

Former Mesa County, Colorado Election Clerk Tina Peters broke no state or federal laws by backing up her Election Management Server (EMS) hard drive, having it analyzed, and even publishing the results.  If she had, the federal and Colorado state governments would have legally come down on her for doing so, especially during the Biden administration. In other words, not one state or federal charge resulted from Tina’s actions backing up her county’s server.  Because they had NOTHING, Colorado (likely at the behest of the DOJ) had to manufacture imaginary felonies and misdemeanors and prosecute her in the state courts.

Weeks after her abduction, and with Israeli troops advancing in the area, a Palestinian doctor “injected air into her vein,” Noa’s father said.

Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold escalated her standoff with the Trump administration this week, rejecting a request for the state’s full, unredacted voter file. “We will not comply with the Trump Department of Justice’s request for Coloradans’ sensitive voting information. Colorado will not help Donald Trump undermine our elections and hurt the American people.” Colorado’s refusal comes as the DOJ expands lawsuits into at least 14 states for denying similar requests.

Democrats in the Washington state legislature are pushing a proposal that establishes a list of demographic groups that are presumed to be “socially disadvantaged” for the purposes of state business certification. Based on the breadth of those categories, roughly 70 percent of Washington state residents would fall under the bill’s definition of “socially disadvantaged.” Under existing statute, the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) defines a “socially disadvantaged individual” as someone who has experienced racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias within American society due to group identity, stemming from circumstances beyond the individual’s control. The agency may also determine social disadvantage on a case-by-case basis.

But as Bob Dylan famously observed, things have changed. On Jan. 8, GM announced it would take a $7.1 billion hit in charges against its earnings, of which $6 billion is due to Barra’s failed EV strategy. During the 2025 gubernatorial election the voters of Virginia believed they were choosing between pragmatic Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger and lackluster Republican Lieutenant Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears. The former was well funded and portrayed favorably by the corporate “news” media as a centrist, while the latter struggled to raise money and was labeled an extremist because of her strong support of gun rights. Spanberger won by double digits and most Virginians thought they were getting a slightly more liberal governor than her predecessor, Glenn Youngkin. Yet the moment she took office, it became obvious that Gov. Spanberger was no moderate.
