Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s pregnant daughter had a bad travel experience Thursday morning, and she’s letting everyone know about it on social media by blasting the TSA and their “rude,” handsy ways. In her tweets, she described the frustration that so many of us feel when we are forced to go through the annoying, often dehumanizing ritual of emptying our bags, taking off our shoes, or possibly even being pulled over for a pat-down.[snip]
Yes, I bet all of us have had the experience of rude, power-drunk agents barking orders at you and treating you as if you’ve somehow committed a crime.

A Georgia State Election Board investigation substantiated that Fulton County violated election rules in 2020 by failing to have poll workers sign required tabulation tapes for early votes in 36 out of 37 advanced voting precincts, affecting approximately 315,000 ballots. These unsigned tapes broke the chain-of-custody and certification requirements under Georgia law, which mandates signed tapes as the sole legal proof of authentic vote totals.
During a board meeting on December 9th, Ann Brumbaugh, attorney for the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections, contends that Fulton County does “not dispute that the tapes were not signed.”

Half of $18 billion in federal welfare funds, which supports 14 Minnesota-run programs since 2018, has been lost to fraud, Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson said during a press conference Thursday.
People come from all over the world to steal millions from U.S. government Medicaid, housing, and other programs, he added. “Minnesota has become a magnet for fraud, so much so that we have developed a fraud tourism industry — people coming to our state purely to exploit and defraud its programs,” Thompson said. “This is a deeply unsettling reality that all Minnesotans should understand.”

And the (electrical vehicle) hits just keep on coming.
Just a day after car manufacturing giant Ford Motors announced that it was eating a sizable $19.5 billion bullet for putting too many of its eggs into the EV basket, a WIVB-TV report is pouring even more cold water on the left’s EV craze.
As New York shifts to meet a new statewide mandate requiring all purchased school buses to be electric, parents have already identified a significant issue — especially in the rather chilly Empire State.
According to WIVB, parents “in the Lake Shore Central School District are speaking out, claiming some bus drivers are turning the heat down, or off completely,

Following the fatal shooting of one National Guard member and the injury of another in Washington, DC, the George W. Bush Institute is urging against broadly targeting Afghan immigration applicants in response to the actions of a single individual.
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national who previously worked with a CIA-backed partner force in Kandahar and entered the U.S. in 2021 through the Biden administration’s Operation Allies Welcome, has been arraigned and is facing charges in the Thanksgiving-week ambush-style shooting that left 20-year-old Spc. Sarah Beckstrom dead and critically injured 24-year-old Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe.
Following the attack, U.S. immigration authorities announced an immediate and indefinite pause on immigration processing

It’s an imperfect solution, but Republicans likely need to do a temporary extension of Obamacare subsidies while they get fixes up and running.
This week, the House passed a bill full of vital health-insurance reforms (the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act), but several GOP moderates also end-ran Speaker Mike Johnson to keep alive hope of some bipartisan deal that would extend the COVID-era subsidies that make the existing system affordable for middle-class Americans who have no better choice as the law now stands.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has agreed to hold elections if there is a ceasefire. However, eastern Ukraine citizens, those currently living in the Donbas region, who are supportive of Russia, will not be permitted to vote. This creates a rather bizarre official hypocrisy within the Zelenskyy regime. The official position of Zelenskyy is that Eastern Ukraine will never be accepted as a part of the Russian federation.
Zelenskyy has recently noted, with EU leadership support, that his government will never recognize Eastern Ukraine as part of the Russian federation. However, this same region, approximately 20% of Ukraine, will not be permitted to participate in his controlled election.

And now, readers, we return to the story that won’t go away, the Jeffrey Epstein saga. The deceased pedophile continues to dominate headlines over six years after his death, mostly because there are rumors that high-profile individuals were involved with his exploits, and if their enemies can prove it, they can be ruined.
There are also countless victims who have never received justice.
Already this Friday afternoon/evening, news broke that today was the deadline Congress had established for the DOJ to release the files, and the department was doing just that. As our Ward Clark reported, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that the investigation had

More than a dozen files tied to notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein mysteriously vanished from the Justice Department’s website just one day after the agency released the massive, long-awaited trove of documents and photos to the public, according to reports.
At least 16 files — among thousands available Friday — were taken down with no explanation from the government, leading to criticism from Democrats on Capitol Hill.
The missing docs included images of nude female paintings — and according to the Dems, a picture of a desk that had numerous framed photos on it and some photos piled in an open drawer.

The Australian state of New South Wales is proposing to ban public displays of Islamic State group flags or extremist symbols after a mass shooting driven by antisemitism killed 15 people at Sydney’s Bondi Beach. Under draft laws to be debated by the state Parliament, publicly displaying the IS flag or symbols from other extremist groups will be offenses punishable by up to two years in prison and fines. The state’s premier, Chris Minns, also said chants of “globalize the intifada” will be banned and police would be given greater powers to demand protesters remove face coverings at demonstrations.

Covid-19 -- and less frequently, the mRNA-based Covid-19 vaccine -- can cause inflamed heart tissue in some people. A new study implicates a pair of substances secreted by immune cells and proposes a strategy to mitigate the vaccine effect. (snip) Vaccine-associated myocarditis occurs in about one in every 140,000 vaccinees after a first dose and rises to one in 32,000 after a second dose. For reasons that aren't clear, incidence peaks among male vaccinees age 30 or below, at one in 16,750 vaccinees. (snip) A case of Covid-19 is about 10 times as likely to induce myocarditis as a Covid-19 vaccination (snip.)

Much of the mainstream news this week has been, in my opinion, partisan or devoted to less-than-significant matters. Does it really matter if the Trump-appointed board that saved the Kennedy Center from going to wrack and ruin has added his name to the building? Were you really surprised that Bill Clinton, not Trump, was pictured in the released Epstein files cavorting with women whose faces were blacked out because they were either minors or victims? (Snip) I think the important and underreported stories of the week, are different -- the growing fractures in the European Union and the Administration’s lowering the boom on richly rewarded migration sponsors.
