U.S. forces have seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, marking the latest escalation in President Donald Trump’s targeting of the South American nation, according to new reports. The intercepted tanker had been sanctioned by the U.S. government, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News on Wednesday. The seizure could make it more difficult for the oil-rich nation to conduct trade, as shippers may be wary of handling its cargo. The majority of Venezuelan oil is sent to China.

Sending infiltrator violent gangs and drugs into the USA is NOT friendly, and could cause "bad things" to happen to your country.

This affects the Chinese directly, and what a conundrum they are in. They are loathe to challenge the US military in our own hemisphere, but now their oil supply is under threat. Will they keep supporting Maduro? Or will they abandon him and wait till the next administration takes over in Caracas, bearing gifts and promises in exchange for oil? While, I might add, the Chinese navy harrasses Taiwan & Japan? A showdown is coming I think.

The first of many I hope. After the expense to capture tankers, maybe the profits could fund viçtims families to at least cover funerals, etc.

I am very uncomfortable with all of this. Hopefully we've been given only selective information and there's a lot more to the story than what we currently know. Regarding the 1st issue with the 2 survivors, since when is it OK for an Admiral or a War Secretary to issue orders against CIVILIANS? By all published accounts, these 2 survivors were NOT wearing any type of uniform--they were shirtless. I thought military operations have to be directed against military objectives? To me, this tanker takeover is equally questionable. It's not about which drugs we consider OK and which we don't...or WHY we think we can be the ones who set the parameters about who, when, and where we can attack to reasonably protect our homeland. On the surface, the ice upon which we're skating seems to be pretty thin. I hope I'm wrong.

#7, US Military action against foreign terrorists has been authorized for a long time. Trump said that there was a very good reason for this seizure and he has much more information than we do at the moment. Democrat resposes are hilarious given that the Biden administration just left $85 billion in US weapons in Afghanistan, brought many of their terrorists here and had hundreds of people killed in the botched pullout.

December 10, 2025 In a marked reversal in foreign policy from his first term, President Trump announced Monday that the U.S. will now allow China’s communist regime to purchase some of the most advanced American-made microchips available on the market. A growing cohort of experts and lawmakers say the move will severely undercut national security by allowing the U.S.’s biggest global adversary to use the powerful technology to develop more advanced weaponry and cyber warfare tactics.

In recent months, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) has spoken out against the dangers of domestic radical Islam while also filing legislation aimed at addressing the growing threat it presents to the United States. Tuberville's efforts have largely been met with support from Alabamians. But, AL(dot)com's Kyle Whitmire, who recently moved to Washington, D.C. to be a "Washington watchdog columnist" for the outlet, is clearly not part of that demographic. In an X post entitled "Tommy Tuberville says things George Wallace wouldn't have. There's no code language here," Whitmire effectively labeled Tuberville a racist for speaking out against the establishment of a private Islamic academy in Hoover.

After President Trump’s criticism of Somali abuse, triggered by reporting of massive $1B plus frauds conducted by the David Horowitz Freedom Center and other conservative media outlets, the media has rushed out more of these same stories about Somali accomplishments. But let’s look at some of the facts. Somalis are the second largest foreign-born population in Minnesota after Mexicans. 42% of Somalis fall below the poverty line. This is far worse than the 21% poverty rate for African-Americans or any Christian African immigrant population -
