An electric school bus burst into flames in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, prompting a massive emergency response and shutting down a stretch of the 210 Freeway in Sylmar, authorities said.
The fire was reported around 9:20 a.m. at 11460 W. Foothill Blvd., directly under the 210 Freeway overpass in the San Fernando Valley, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Sky5 was over the scene as heavy flames and thick black smoke poured from the fully involved bus.
No children were on board at the time of the fire, officials said. The driver, whose age and gender have not been released, was transported to a local hospital for minor smoke inhalation.

Ernest Hemingway famously wrote when describing bankruptcy: It happens “gradually, then suddenly.” The same is true of dictatorships. They project an illusion of permanence—until the moment the façade shatters and decades of repression give way to rapid collapse. Nowhere is this dynamic more evident than in the Islamic Republic of Iran, a theocracy that has ruled for 46 years through corruption, brutality, and systemic mismanagement.
In recent weeks, a severe water crisis has pushed Iran into international headlines. President Masoud Pezeshkian himself warned that it is very feasible that water rationing in Tehran may follow.

Democrat Maryland Governor Wes Moore is an ambitious guy. The Washington Free Beacon now does its thing giving Moore the kind of treatment the New York Times loves to give to Republicans. As always, however, the Free Beacon’s story is fairly (and, in this case, intensely) reported. Moore has been engaged in a classic case of self-help enhancing his résumé. Andrew Kerr reports “Wes Moore Won a Key White House Post Claiming He Was ‘Touted as a Foremost Expert’ on Radical Islam and Was Studying for an Oxford PhD—But His Thesis Is ‘Missing’ and There’s No Evidence He Was Ever a Doctoral Student”

An Australian women’s rights advocate has been ordered to pay a combined total of $95,000 AUD to two trans-identified men, with an additional $40,000 penalty in the case of non-compliance. Kirralie Smith was found guilty by a New South Wales court of “unlawfully vilifying” two trans-identified males who made headlines for participating in women’s sports. Justin “Riley” Dennis and Nicholas “Stephanie” Blanch lodged criminal complaints against Smith for raising public awareness of their inclusion in women’s football. Smith, a spokeswoman with Binary Australia, a campaign group dedicated to advocating for single-sex sports in Australia, had been raising public awareness of their inclusion in women’s sports after learning of injuries sustained

A gang of Philadelphia teenagers accused of robbing a Dick's Sporting Goods store in Florida while attending a football tournament have been named and shamed by a no-nonsense sheriff.
Members of the eight-strong mob were arrested and hit with felony charges after their alleged December 6 theft spree - something they may not have expected in their Pennsylvania home city, whose district attorney is a notoriously woke prosecutor called Larry Krasner.
The teenagers are members of the United Thoroughbreds team from Philadelphia and were in Davenport to face the Coco Tigers team for the Prolifix Sportz National Championship.

I will say one thing: the Democrats’ participation in the linguistic gymnastics remains undefeated. It provides a window into the mental illness that is American liberalism, and you learn fascinating new ways to destroy the meaning of words. It’s entertainment, since only those hitting the crack pipe would believe the talking points and other trash jargon coming from this party.
Operation Southern Spear is taking out narco-terrorists in the Caribbean. Democrats have a problem with this, though not any of the terrorists Barack Obama wiped out through drone strikes—500 total during his presidency, and yes, civilians were killed. Americans were on these kill lists. Yet, Democrats

There is an intriguing question Virginia’s Attorney General-Elect (AG) Jay Jones should be asked, though it is doubtful he would choose to answer it.
Jones is the Democrat who won election as the commonwealth state’s new AG in November, despite some very disturbing news about him that came out in the weeks prior. Unbelievably, he won the top law enforcement office, despite having fantasized in a series of 2022 texts to a state legislator, Delegate Carrie Coyner, about killing not only a Republican legislator but the murder of the man’s family as well.
The Republican opponent about whom he fantasized killing was then-House Speaker Todd Gilbert. Not only were

New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani on Sunday released a video outlining New Yorkers’ rights during encounters with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after an attempted raid in Manhattan, pledging that his administration will safeguard immigrant communities while protecting the city’s constitutional right to protest.
The video comes as immigration enforcement in New York faces renewed scrutiny, underscoring how Mamdani plans to confront federal actions he says threaten immigrant communities and demand that New Yorkers be prepared, informed and confident in asserting their legal rights. In the video, Mamdani opens by recalling an ICE raid last weekend in Manhattan that sought to detain immigrants.

"Stand with Ukraine! Free Palestine! No One is Illegal!"
Did I forget any other empty slogans? For the last eight years, the basement-dwelling interlocutors of the Left have screamed and yelled for The Revolution, bearing their signs, blocking the streets, and bawling in front of politicians' homes.
Conservatives and the general public have endured these mantras blasted all over social media and the airwaves. These empty epithets have dominated college campuses, overwhelmed classrooms and public squares, and they featured prominently in debates, podcasts, and talk shows.
The Left never tires of finding causes to fight for. Whatever declares war on the West, undermines natural law and basic reality, and places power above principle,

It’s not like you didn’t know this already: Joe Biden’s incompetence ushered in the return of Donald J. Trump. Yet, there were plenty of opportunities for Biden and the Democrats to prevent what would become the greatest political comeback of all time. Why didn’t this happen? For some reason, Biden and his crew of invalids thought that Americans wouldn’t mind that the southern border would be awash with illegal aliens, and that any enforcement measures would turn Latino voters against Democrats.
Ironically, the latter is why there was such a violent swing to Trump with Hispanic voters in the 2024 election. They were warned, and they ignored it.

In Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Energy Secretary Chris Wright, the Trump administration has an unparalleled degree of energy expertise at the helm. They are engineering the administration’s abandonment of the Green New Deal in favor of reliable, affordable energy. Wright is one of the country’s top energy experts, and, having discussed energy issues with Burgum, I can attest that the former Governor of North Dakota is extraordinarily knowledgeable as well. Energy policy is perhaps second only to illegal immigration as a signature strength of the Trump administration.
Yesterday Burgum tweeted a graphic that American Experiment published last year. It illustrates how wind and solar produce electricity only episodically,
