A former World Trade Center worker who “narrowly escaped” the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks has been beaten to death by three teens — one of whom was just 12 at the time of the attack, according to officials. Long Island native Roger Borkum, 64, was found “severely beaten” just before midnight on Oct. 19 in Downtown Jacksonville, FL., after three teens were seen “kicking and stomping” him, according to an arrest report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

After reading the article, even with the photographs of the perpetrators blanked out, the facts of the assault and common sense will tell you that it was just another instance of young homicidal and very violent Black perpetrators “kicking and stomping” an elderly White person without giving a crap if they murdered the victim.

"Narrowly escaped" Sept 11 attacks? According the same article, Borkum was let go as a consultant at the WTC in July of 2001. Still, there must be a reckoning for Borkum's painful final moments on earth. And yeah, the mug shots of the perps are no surprise.

FTA: Some context fo those who missed it: He was let go in July 2001, meaning he “narrowly escaped death” months later in the 9/11 attacks where “his coworkers perished,” according to his obituary. Those words were in this poor man's obituary. Surely he must have believed that his being laid off in July saved his life which would hae been lost along wwithhis colleagues on 9/11. Most of us would view that as Providence.

When they put a term like "narrowly escaped" into the headlines in quotes like that, you can basically take it to mean it wasn't really a narrow escape. At least the article openly pointed out the euphemism. What fries me is when the incorrectly used phrase is not in quotes, and not explained in the article.
