Nothing says “hope and change” quite like bulldozing a beloved public park for a 235-foot phallic tower dedicated to oneself. Welcome to the Obama Presidential Center (OPC), an $830 million (and rising) vanity project in Chicago’s historic Jackson Park. The man who once preached community organizing couldn’t find a single non-park site in his hometown for his monument. I get angry every time I see a story about this thing. It feels as if Obama is giving America a gigantic, double-barreled middle finger. (snip) Let’s start with the trees: over 800 mature oaks, many a century old, were felled for parking and “campus” space. Environmentalists who paralyzed industries

I don't see it as a 'middle' finger. It is more like an index finger. Remember when obama---at some gathering of islamists, muslims, and other terrorists---gestured to the crowd with a raised index finger? I do. They sometimes make that salute. At the time someone suggested that he did it to signify his solidarity with those who worship 'the ONE'. It will make a good minaret too. Or a flak tower.

#2...actually it's only been really horrible since 2011 when Rahm Emanuel was elected and Obama able to influence all kind and crazy harmful policies that have lead to the destruction or once great city. After the fire, the brilliant city planners led by Daniel Burnham and a team of the most gifted architects determined to change the reputation of the city from a hick shanty town to a city in that could compete with New York for business. Burham knew the preserving the Lakefront was key. He said "The lakefront by right belongs to the people” and should be “forever free and clear, accessible at all times to the people.” Only twenty years after fire destroyed the city, Chicago invited the World's Columbian Exposition. The parks we designed by Fredrick Olmstead and we a declared by all as his "masterpiece." The Obama atrocity has betrayed the citizens and robbed us of or birthright. Obama lived here for while being groomed the father of Bill Ayers. He's no real Chicagoan. His buddy Rahm defrauded Chicago tax payers into footing the entire debacle. Now our beautiful city has been "fundamentally transformed" in the disaster it is today.

25 years ago, I happened to be in Austin TX and went to the LBJ library. There was a wing for Lady Bird about her childhood, wild flowers, the daughters etc. I'm wondering if there will be a wing about MO. Yup, un-doctored photos of her childhood, high school Senior photo, dressed in her Easter finery. After Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the multiple assassination attempts on President Trump, and the violent targeting of federal agents in Minnesota, non-leftists in America must accept that leftists intend to do them harm. There are no signs that Democrats want to de-escalate political tensions in the United States. On the contrary, at least since community organizer Barack Obama became president, escalation -- including verbal harassment, stalking, physical intimidation, and outright violence -- has been a key component of Democrats’ political strategy. Scaring political opponents into silence or subjugation is now standard operating procedure for the Democrat Party.

Raiklin was recognized by Fanone, who went on a profanity-filled tirade against the activist who has been known to ruffle some feathers. The former police officer got into Raiklin’s face, but not before calling him a traitor and telling him to go “f**k himself.” Fanone accused Raiklin of wanting to rape his children. A recent revelation that Smith paid out $20,000 to a confidential human source (CHS) shocked Americans and caused Trump to call for Smith to serve prison time, but it appears that might have been just a drop in the bucket.

When Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro blew off subpoenas issued by Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 committee, refusing to answer questions before a kangaroo court, they received four-month prison sentences, which they both served in their entirety. And, both men suffered serious financial ruin; Navarro revealed that by the end of his trial, he was expecting to spend three-quarters-of-a-million dollars for his defense. One of my favorite Western reruns is "The Rifleman," starring the steely-jawed Chuck Connors as Lucas McCain. In one episode, John Hamilton, president of North Fork's first bank, tried to talk a buzz of skeptical townsfolk into putting their lifesavings into the "absolute safety" of his bank. The crowd didn't budge until Hamilton introduced his new security guard, former gunslinger Floyd Doniger, who awed the crowd by shooting plates in mid-air as fast as Hamilton's men tossed them up. It worked. The townsfolk streamed into the bank with their lifesavings. Doniger, now perched on a loft with a ready rifle, scanned the bank like a human security camera. The city of Chicago exists on another plane of the universe than the rest of us. It's a place where up is down, black is white, and the basic laws of physics are held in abeyance so that when adding one plus one, any number that's convenient (and politically viable) can be the answer. In Chicago's budget, the "new physics" includes the caveat that nothing is real unless we (the aldermen and the city's hapless Mayor Brandon Johnson) say it is. And even then, nothing is permanent in this alternate plane of the universe. An equation that's "true" today may not be so "true" tomorrow. Do you think I'm being facetious?

For European businesses, this will soon translate into noticeably higher competitive pressure. February 12, 2026, marks the end of a political era in the United States. On Thursday, President Donald Trump, together with EPA administrator Lee Zeldin, repealed the so-called Endangerment Finding. This is one of the largest deregulation measures in recent U.S. history. Legally, the move primarily deregulates the EPA framework. It is not an executive order or a law passed by Congress.
