Fraud accusations show America dodged

As soon as Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be her vice presidential nominee in 2024, I gagged and shook my head. I grew up in Minnesota and had a lovely childhood there. It's filled with kind, hardworking people. Beautiful lakes dot the land, and winter can be magical (though long). It's still ranked one of the healthiest states to live in. But I wouldn't live there now, even if Walz himself paid me millions to move back to the North Star State and personally escorted me

I bet he hates that Kamalamadingdong found him and put him in the public eye, that he took to too quickly. Now we know what Knucklehead is all about and he can't seem to stay out of the news. Thank you Jesus that he isn't our vice president.

And even better, thank god Harris didn't win along with him. I can't imagine what shape we would be in if they'd managed to steal the last election.

Why shouldn't the biggest idiot ever to get a major party's presidential nomination do a deep dig, and locate the one running mate who's dumber? After Ubama-FJB and Harris-Walz, this intelectual down-trade is on an unsustainable trend. An example was the Texas A&M (Aggie) student with the IQ of 300. He had to be dumbed down to get along with normal people, and so he was hooked up to an IQ-reducing machine until he was a mere 150 or so. After eight hours on the machine, his IQ was still above 250, so the scientists left on the machine all night. When they arrive the next morning, the machine had speeded up, and the super genius Aggie's IQ was zero. Scientists tried to get him to say something. After a few minutes, he said, "Hook 'em, 'Horns!"

Too many people in MN have the mindset that spending gobs of other peoples' money makes Them a good person. Then the Somalis come in and are tickled pink to play 'woke' victims, who deserve largess from government coffers.

I am certain that tons of money found the way into his grubbing hands. Ao he might as well take a one-way trip to China, the country that he loves. If he is not going, he might find himself in an orange jumpsuit and enjoy his clown life behind bars.

The Filibuster Must Be Euthanized Now 7 replies

It should be obvious even to the most obtuse Republican in the Senate that the Democrats will eventually regain another governing trifecta in Washington and will shortly thereafter nuke the legislative filibuster. They have pledged to do so in order to pass several pieces of controversial legislation, and would have done it already had it not been for West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin and Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema. Consequently, Senate Republicans should “nuke” the filibuster themselves if the Democrats attempt to shut down the government again next January 30, when the recently passed partial funding bill expires.

Breaking news: The sun rose in the east today. In an equally predictable development, Democrats screamed at Republicans for allegedly doing what Democrats actively perpetrate. This is psychological projection: pinning one’s flaws on others. Classic example: A morbidly obese man wolfs down his third after-dinner milkshake and screams at a physical trainer nibbling a salad: “Put down the fork, you cow!”

Since Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) first arrived in Congress five years ago, she has been portrayed by the Washington press corps as a comic figure. They routinely mocked her for questioning mask mandates and accused her of spreading QAnon conspiracy theories. During recent weeks, after her falling out with President Trump over the fabled Epstein files, the oracles of the corporate “news” media have had an epiphany concerning Greene’s importance to the GOP. Following her announcement last Friday evening that she will resign from the House of Representatives effective January 5, they discovered she is an important political figure .

Former MSNBC host Chris Matthews appeared on CNN News Central on Tuesday afternoon to hawk his latest book worshiping the Kennedys, but the appearance turned into an embarrassing outing as two of his broad proclamations about contemporary politics turned out to be wildly false. Between claiming the Senate was going to stymie the release of the Epstein files and suggesting the Washington Post never criticized the Saudi crown price visiting the White House, Matthews’ assertions were blown up in his face by CNN journalists.

In the end, it turns out that radical transparency for a sex-trafficking ring doesn't actually look all that controversial. Only one member of the House of Representatives voted against a bill forcing the release of all documentation in the Jeffrey Epstein investigations. The bill will now go to the Senate after passing on a 427-1 vote:(Snip)After months of anticipation, the House of Representatives on Tuesday overwhelmingly passed a bill ordering the release of the Justice Department's files on late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. It passed 427-1 -- with GOP Rep. Clay Higgins as the only vote against the measure.
SCOTUS Must Stop Mail-In Voting Madness 10 replies

One of the suppurating sores that still bedevil our body politic in the aftermath of COVID-19 is the ongoing abuse of mail-in voting. Absentee ballots have long been available to a small number of voters, of course. But, during the pandemic, many states used public safety as a pretext to dramatically expand eligibility for mail-in voting and to extend the deadlines for receiving these ballots. (snip) This inevitably creates concerns about election integrity. Consequently, it was only a matter of time before the U.S. Supreme Court would be required to decide if post-election vote counting violates federal law.

The New York City Police Department has to be feeling cursed these days. Having barely recovered from the dark years of Bill de Blasio and still emerging from the chaos of the Eric Adams era, the NYPD now faces the daunting prospect of reporting to democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani. But don’t bet against the men and women in blue. They are remarkably resilient—and they may have a secret weapon in their experienced and savvy commissioner, Jessica Tisch. The NYPD had a notoriously fractious relationship with de Blasio

Last week, New York City’s Department of Education announced the latest enrollment numbers for the city’s public schools. Another year of declines confirms an unsustainable trajectory—and highlights the challenge for newly elected mayor Zohran Mamdani. For the 2025–26 school year, NYCDOE reported 793,300 students enrolled in K-12 grades. That’s down 2.3 percent from the previous year and nearly 10 percent since 2020. DOE data also reveal that 112 of the city’s public schools have fewer than 150 students, up from 80 schools just two years ago.

It hasn't even been two full days since polls closed in New York City, so the full blossoming of the Mamdani effect is far from being fully witnessed. But what the heck. I did not vote for Zohran Mamdani. Call me crazy — but a socialist who, until five minutes ago, was gleefully tweeting to defund the police and who refuses to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada” is not my ideal steward for this glittering center of progress. On social media, there’s a relentless schadenfreude chorus of “You deserve what you vote for” from out-of-towners who don’t seem to understand that massive swathes of New Yorkers did not, in fact, vote for Mamdani. But that doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere.

It's beginning to look like the prediction Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) made about the Democrats and the shutdown is right. He predicted that after the elections, we would get some movement from the Democrats to end the shutdown, because the shutdown was about juicing their base, trying to whip them up to get out to the polls. Once the elections were over, they would then try to find an off-ramp to end the shutdown and claim a victory. Surprise, surprise. Now we're hearing that Democrats are engaging with Republicans on reopening the government, according to Punchbowl.

For as little as $1, you can dim the sun — just a tiny bit — to save the world from climate change. At least, that’s the promise sold by a California start-up called Make Sunsets. Your dollar will pay for founder Luke Iseman to drive a Winnebago RV into the hills half an hour outside Saratoga, California, to release a balloon loaded with sulfur dioxide, an air pollutant normally spewed by volcanic eruptions. He and his 1,000 paying customers hope the balloon will burst in the stratosphere, releasing particles that will block sunlight and cool the planet. The facts are still emerging through the fog of war (or is it the fog of law enforcement, or the fog of antiterrorism?). Sometimes people (including myself) draw conclusions on the basis of incomplete information, so let’s start with what’s really known. Our military launched another missile attack on a drug-smuggling fast boat. The boat burst into flames and was dead in the water but did not immediately sink. On-scene surveillance showed that not all of the 11 crew members were killed. One or two men were seen moving in the water.
