For as little as $1, you can dim the sun — just a tiny bit — to save the world from climate change. At least, that’s the promise sold by a California start-up called Make Sunsets. Your dollar will pay for founder Luke Iseman to drive a Winnebago RV into the hills half an hour outside Saratoga, California, to release a balloon loaded with sulfur dioxide, an air pollutant normally spewed by volcanic eruptions. He and his 1,000 paying customers hope the balloon will burst in the stratosphere, releasing particles that will block sunlight and cool the planet. A better-funded competitor, Stardust, has raised $75 million

I remember a cartoon from the late 60s or early 70s. Humans travel to another planet and discover giant aliens. They are shocked to discover that the aliens have a plan to extinguish the sun. They intend to launch a rocket that will explode spreading a glue-like substance all over the sun causing it to go out. Why are the aliens doing this? Because the sun is too bright. What do the humans do? They introduce the aliens to...sunglasses. Problem solved! It's a child's story. It's preposterous. What is shocking there are humans considering something similar. They call this 'science'. Notice who wrote this article? The liberal Washington Post! Some of them must be getting cold feet fearing their green allies will do something really stupid and suicidal.

Student’s failing Bible-based essay

A University of Oklahoma student’s final grade won’t be affected after she controversially flunked a Bible-based essay on gender that was assigned by a trans instructor — triggering widespread backlash. Samantha Fulnecky, 20, filed a discrimination complaint with the school last week after she was given an F for arguing in her psychology class paper that “belief in multiple genders” was “demonic.” The school has since revealed the failing grade will have no bearing on Fulnecky’s academic standing after the course’s professor, Mel Curth, was placed on leave and administrators launched a probe into the junior’s complaint. The controversial assignment was supposed to account for 3% of Fulnecky’s final grade.

Ohio elections officials reached a data sharing agreement with President Donald Trump's administration that will help clean up and maintain the state's voter rolls. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced the new agreement on Monday, saying it guarantees Ohio access to enhanced federal records for at least 20 years. The deal refers to the federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database, which previously had limited and costly availability to state election officials. LaRose says Monday's agreement with the Department of Homeland Security guarantees Ohio the capability to obtain verifiable data supporting each citizen verification as well as the ability to perform bulk verification requests.

California has long been a “fuel island” — a state whose gasoline and diesel markets are isolated from the rest of the country — but that could soon end under a proposed plan to build the first-ever pipeline to bring refined products directly to the West Coast. Known as the Western Gateway Pipeline, the project from oil major Phillips 66 and global pipeline giant Kinder Morgan would deliver gasoline, diesel and jet fuel to Arizona and California from as far east as Missouri by 2029. The companies are currently scoping out demand and seeking commitments from customers in what is known as an “open season.”

In 2018, as California was laying the groundwork to build a new 911 system for the state, a massive fire ripped through Butte County, decimating several Northern California communities and killing over 80 people. The devastating Camp Fire, which wiped out cell towers and hampered emergency communication during critical hours, was on everyone’s minds as the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services worked to design the state’s future emergency communication system. Between 2019 and 2025, California paid four technology companies over $450 million to build out its Next Generation 911 system, But when the time came to turn that system on, it didn’t work.

Military investigations have reportedly revealed that Hamas spent years collecting sensitive intelligence on IDF bases and equipment, especially tanks and their operations, from soldiers’ social media activity, allowing the terror group to disable tanks and raid army bases during its October 7, 2023, onslaught in southern Israel. Army Radio reported Sunday that a specialized Hamas intelligence unit built a detailed database over several years by piecing together thousands of social media posts by soldiers, including photos and videos, specifically focusing on the Merkava Mark 4 tank — the most advanced armored vehicle in the IDF’s arsenal. According to the report, Hamas learned about a hidden kill switch on the tank
