The Afghan man accused of gunning down two National Guard members blocks from the White House last week had been unraveling for years, unable to hold a job and flipping between long, lightless stretches of isolation and taking sudden weeks-long cross-country drives. His behavior deteriorated so sharply that a community advocate reached out to a refugee organization for help, fearing he was becoming suicidal. Emails obtained by The Associated Press reveal mounting warnings about the suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an asylum seeker whose erratic conduct raised alarms long before the attack that jolted the nation’s capital on the eve of Thanksgiving.

When former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi moved to England a year ago they put the blame firmly on Donald Trump. The American TV star said she decided to settle in the Cotswolds the day after Mr Trump was re-elected President because life 'is just better' in the UK. (SNIP) A source said: 'Ellen was adamant that she and Portia were going to stay in the UK while Trump was in the White House, but evidently she's changed her mind somewhat. 'She's been telling friends they are coming home soon because they miss

Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek (D) threatened to investigate and prosecute federal agents who enforce the United States’ immigration laws in the state of Oregon.
In a video on Instagram, Kotek accused the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of carrying out “violent actions” and “stoking fear in the name of immigration enforcement.” Kotek also said the state would “investigate misconduct” and hold federal officers accountable.
“I believe as you do, in the rule of law and keeping our community safe,” Kotek said. “We also believe in being a welcoming place, where our immigrant and refugee community help our state thrive. The ongoing violent actions of the federal Department of Homeland Security are unacceptable

It wasn't a surprise when we learned about the latest testimony release from the House Oversight Committee; it felt more like the confirmation of what Americans had long sensed.Working inside the White House, staff understood that the man they placed before the camera couldn't lead the country, yet they said so privately while publicly denying it.
Writing at our sister site, Twitchy, Doug P. shared the testimony. The staff knew the presidency had become nothing more than a managed performance: They moved him, dressed him, staged him, guided him, and fed him lines.

More than 400 employees of the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) accused Gov. Tim Walz of failing to act on widespread fraud warnings and retaliating against whistleblowers.
The Minnesota Department of Human Service Employees account, [anip] current staff members at the Minnesota DHS, wrote on X that Walz is "100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota."
"We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership in stopping fraud but no, we got the opposite response. Tim Walz systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression, and did his best to discredit fraud reports," the group claimed. "In addition to retaliating against whistleblower[s],

Four people were killed and 10 were wounded in a mass shooting in Stockton, California, Saturday evening, according to officials. Deputies responded shortly before 6 p.m. to a report of a shooting near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said at a news conference that children and adults were shot. Early indications "suggest this may have been a targeted incident," a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said.

Every time I hear about the tragedy (the tragedies) suffered by the Indians of North America (whether at Thanksgiving or at any other time), I bring up some variant of the following questions:
Do the calamities also include the theft of the lands of the Apaches? Does the genocide, real or alleged, of the Native Americans also concern the extermination of the Huron tribe (Huronia)?
This type of question usually boondoggles the leftist,…
The problem, of course, is that the lands of the Apaches were stolen by the Comanches.
While the Hurons were wiped out by the Iroquois

As we reported, a judge tossed the case against former FBI Director James Comey for technical reasons, ruling the appointment of the interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan, who had filed the matter, was invalid. So it wasn't a ruling on the merits of the case, and it was dismissed without prejudice, so it could potentially be filed again, although there's a potential question about the statute of limitations. The Justice Department (DOJ) has already indicated that it would appeal that decision. So I don't think Comey should be taking that victory lap just yet, because it surely sounds like more is coming.

The left has gone way off the rails with their anti-ICE actions.
Even after attacks on ICE facilities that have left people dead, you still have radical anti-ICE crews wreaking havoc in places like New York City, trying to stop ICE from carrying out its mission. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made it clear: the radicals aren't going to stop them. Apparently, the radicals heard that the federal agents might be conducting another operation on Canal Street, an area ICE has hit in the past. So about 150 people tried to block agents from getting out of a garage of a federal building,

The fallout from the 2020 COVID-19 debacle is still raining down. In the latest episode, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has now found evidence linking the coronavirus vaccines to as many as 10 child deaths, and the federal agency is responding by ramping up new vaccine approval regulations.
At least part of this was done at the urging of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. We should note that at least part of the new approach is not just on how vaccines are delivered, but how they are developed.

You have to admit it: It’s certainly one way to spice up Disneyland’s “Gay Day” that doesn’t involve an obscene leather harness. According to People Magazine, a conservative group planning a “MAGA invasion” of the SoCal theme park didn’t mean for it to coincide with a “pride” event at the House of Mouse. But organizers say it’s “even more fun this way.” The event is planned for Feb. 28, 2026. It was organized by 805 Patriots, which specified that dress code was a group T-shirt along with “a red MAGA hat” in a post on social media. Well, as it turns out, this is also the same day that

Ken Burns is giving a history of the American Revolution replete with leftist narratives unmoored from facts. In Episode 1, Burns erroneously claims that the driving force of the American Revolution was to steal Indian land. In Episode 2, the narrative is slavery and the evil colonists, including George Washington. After defaming George Washington, Burns adopts the canard that slavery was a cause of the American Revolution, and portrays slavery as an unchallenged colonial evil, ignoring the colonies’ abolitionist movement, a world first.
