Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley's son Nalin Haley on Monday accused Republicans of failing to acknowledge disillusioned Gen Z voters' struggles with unemployment and affordability. "The first step our leaders need to do is admit that we have a problem. And right now I haven't heard any Republican leaders talk about the issues that young people are facing," Haley told "Fox & Friends." "Congress has been nothing more than a glorified nursing home. They either don't know the problems that we're facing or they're ignoring them. And to be honest, I don't know which one's worse."

You think that tens of millions of illegals have had any impact on the job and housing market? And , what about the major chosen in college?

A point of view that should be listened to by Repubs, especially older ones. I am 87 and he and the late Charlie Kirk are making some good points on education, housing and jobs. The Dems are 100 % responsible for the ILLEGAL ALIEN problem - but do-nothing Repubs MUST step up to the plate and deal with these issues.
We are far down the road to Communism. Countries never recover once they choose Communism.

The GOP must do something to appeal to this very real and large voting bloc. Promising free stuff is not the answer, but the GOP cannot just ignore these folks. If the GOP's message is, "You have no one but yourselves to blame," they will fall in behind Democrats.

They wont step up to improve anything unless it benefits their donors, themselves personally, or their "greatest ally". These are spineless cowards.

The effects of Covid, college loan payments, addiction to fast food and credit cards, in addition to the effects of choosing degrees based on dreams and not careers are strangling young people. It’s like they all need a do-over. But they won’t get it. I blame the democrats with their pie-in-the-sky rewriting the script of life and ideals. The limp republicans did nothing to fight the deadly effects of liberalism. I see doom and gloom if Mr Trump doesn’t make his economic vision for ALL OF US a reality, cuz, if not, we are standing n sinking sand.

Gee, 1/3 of recent college graduates are unemployable.
So, that DEI degree is worthless? The African trans studies not going get job offers?
How about science, engineering or other useful degrees??
I bet they are being hired.

When you get a degree in sociology, art history or “women’s studies”, employment opportunities are scarce. Why didn’t these kids, or their parents, figure this out?

What does a college graduate with a liberal arts degree say? "Do you want fries with that?"
The only place work comes before success is the dictionary.
Of course, H1-Bs have undercut and hollowed out the technical job market so the H1-B program must be eliminated so employers will have no choice but to hire American engineers and pay them a competitive salary. Other professions have the same issues.

I have to agree with Nalin Haley's assessment of life as a Gen Z voter right now. I've got two of them.
I graduated from college just after Ronald Regan was elected. I voted for Carter. Things did not look good for awhile but they turned around, thankfully for me. I hope the same is true right now.
Trump is doing many of the right things but we need to see some results in the areas that affect our everyday lives.

#1, #7: You won't like this anecdote: The CEO of Anduril, a drone manufacturing company that is appealing to the government to become the leading supplier of defense drones for the US, appeared on Bloomberg TV in August saying Anduril was hiring and couldn't find enough qualified candidates. That is B.S. I know of a young man -- son of a friend -- who graduated with a 4.0 (or close to it) GPA in aerospace engineering this past spring. He was told there were no job openings at Anduril when he contacted them earlier this year. He also happens to be Caucasian. Get it? So the CEO was either flat-out lying (i.e. in on a con with his HR organization) or flat-out clueless about what HR was doing. People who know about US-made drones may have heard of Anduril. But I'm here to place a bet that the company won't make it because they are *not* hiring on merit.

We have gone a far piece down the road from my Mother, who was able to rear four children at home comfortably while my Dad worked, to the point that many cannot afford to have any children despite both folks working. Another hard look we need to take.

While I sympathize, It's not the government's job to place graduates. They're busy ensuring diversity.

Too many companies are too worried about their "diversity" to pay attention to the large pool of qualified white male college graduates. Trying to get past liberal HR (who usually have no clue what the posted jobs really entail except to meet their diversity goals. If recent college grads think they have it bad, try being a recently laid off white male engineer or some other "professional with 20 to 30 years experience looking for a new job. NOBODY will consider you as you are too old, too exerienced, too expensive, wouldn't "fit" into the new work culture, and on and on and on. This is not the resident's fault. This is a new corporate culture that sees employees as disposable. As for housing, think about the part of your house payment that is property taxes and insurance. 67% of my house payment is property taxes and insurance. That is $1500.00 per month for me. How can someone just starting out afford high escrow on a home? High property taxes are putting homes out of reach for many. Think high tax states like NY, NJ, California. This also effects rent.

OK.... What did young Haley major in? Does he hold a degree with a marketable skill? Young Haley has no ground to run his mouth if he does not have that.
And....reporter left that important detail out of the story. Sloppy journalism, if not journalism malpractice.

Unemployment and lack of affordability are merely the results of underlying problems. Horrendously inefficient government and unchecked illegal immigration are two of the more serious problems. Thank you, democrats. Please, not another Haley.
