Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City mayoral race this week is a clear moment. Voters chose a 34-year-old Democrat Socialist promising frozen rents, higher taxes on the wealthy, more public spending, etc. You know, all the things communists promise before their overblown Marxism takes control. That is now the experiment New York City residents asked for. As GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) explained: Zohran Mamdani’s victory marks the BIGGEST WIN FOR destructive, dangerous, big government SOCIALISM in U.S. history — and a loss for freedom loving American people. He’s an unapologetic Marxist — fully EMBRACED by the Democrat establishment. Hakeem Jeffries ENDORSED him. Barack Obama personally called to CONGRATULATE him.

Sorry Eli, but New York has fallen - not as an example of how foolish their particular city's residents are. But as a result of the universe of our failed education system via public schools and leftist, unionized, teachers. That poison isn't limited to New York City - it festers across all of America and has now widely indoctrinated multiple generations of our children. Mamdani wasn't the only one of his kind running for office this week. No, he just now owns America's most prominent municipality. I'd sing for joy if the future this threatens to NYC was limited to only that city. But I see his election as simply having opened the door to more widespread mayhem.

As the title implies...let them burn it down. Mamdani's socialist scheme will soon run out of other peoples money and as more of the successful pull up stakes and move out the city will be left with the moochers and at some point that model will be unsustainable. It's a shame that the people on the dole were able to elect a freebie giving Muslim to the mayor's office to continue their free ride. It will get worse before it gets better but it will be fun to watch.

The latest vote totals I can find show Mamdani ahead of Cuomo by fewer than 100,000 votes. Does anyone doubt that at least 100,000 illegal aliens mistakenly" registered to vote at the DMV or when they applied for welfare or other benefits voted for Mamdani? Cuomo himself may be one of the many New Yorkers victimized by his corrupt governorship.

Remember the January 6 pipe bomber that the FBI couldn’t figure out due to their serial incompetence? Five years after this supposed attempted attack on the headquarters for the Democratic and Republican National Committees, the FBI learned that the suspect is five feet six inches tall. Seriously, guys? Later, a contractor working with the FBI, Karlin Younger, who discovered the bombs, was the subject of a profile deep dive by Michael Shellenberger, where some stuff did seem a bit odd. Yet, it was Steve Baker and Joseph Hanneman at the Blaze who might have cracked this story wide open. Two things, one, they better be right, and two,

Nancy Pelosi has announced her retirement as of the end of the current term. No surprise there: she is 85 years old, and being in the minority in the House, especially after having been Speaker, is no fun. Conservatives have mostly despised “San Fran Nan,” and president Trump made no bones about his feelings: “I think she’s an evil woman. I’m glad she’s retiring. I think she did the country a great service by retiring,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office when asked for his reaction to the California Democrat’s announcement she is ending her decades-long storied career. “I think she was a tremendous liability for the country,” Trump continued.

The big news story of the week was Zohran Mamdani’s election as Mayor of New York City. Socialism is once again in the news, and meme creators have gone into overdrive. A new generation of anti-socialism memes is being created, and golden oldie anti-socialism memes are being revived. Beyond that, the Schumer Shutdown continued, food stamps have run out, the guy that wants to murder Republicans got elected Attorney General of Virginia, Nancy Pelosi announced her retirement, and conflict with Venezuela is looming. But memesters were more interested in Sydney Sweeney seeing off an interviewer who wanted to talk about white supremacy.

THE PIED PIPER OF BUSHWICK There are a couple of fires right now for conservatives. To our front, the Heritage Foundation is in the midst of a generational struggle session over allegiance to Israel. While I think the reckoning is worthwhile and ultimately inevitable – especially considering future American conservatives are not apt to carry Jerusalem’s burden – the one to our rear is much more immediate and consequential. The EU summit on Thursday in Brussels focused primarily on security issues. To put it bluntly: Ukraine must somehow turn its lost war against Russia into a victory, and the EU must be militarily ready for action by 2030. The fact that this would only be feasible with a functioning economy has apparently not yet dawned on the power center in Brussels. Instead, they are preparing for a major fiscal “liberation strike,” giving bureaucracy a lush boom of its own. When German chancellor Friedrich Merz traveled to Brussels for the EU summit, his fiery rhetoric about EU bureaucratization followed him closely. “Let me put it in very vivid terms:

Is it, or should it be true that in order to win, we should follow the principle that there are "no enemies to the right?" On its face, the principle makes sense. After all, elections are won by adding together enough voters and voting blocs to get a plurality of the vote. Unless you have more voters than the other side(s), you lose. So if you see a group of voters who might be persuaded to vote along with you, it makes sense to either appeal to them or, at the very least, not criticize them. This is the essence of some conservatives' arguments that the critiques of Tucker Carlson,
