It's Time to Stigmatize Some People Again

Original Article

There it was this morning, plain as day. It was a screenshot of a woman going off about how her food stamps were cut off, the $1,000 per month she and her family supposedly get from the government, juxtaposed against her being called out by someone else for hair extensions, expensive trips to the nail salon, and tattoos. In short, she wastes money on unnecessary things and then demands money from the government to support herself. She's squandering money on luxuries while relying on the taxpayers to fund her groceries for anywhere between four and seven people in her household. And worse, there's no sense of shame among many of these people.

Maybe those on public dole, with exemptions for truly incapacitated and unable, should recieve the help they need, but with set goals and assistance to achieve those goals within a time-frame - or be cut off. Mandatory classes. training, job search requirements - including a roster of businesses contracted with agencies to get people into entry level jobs. Chronic and generational dependency does not have skills, direction, or foresight. A regular gift of free money to able-bodied but ignorant, does nothing to inspire or drive them to be independent.

I have a niece heading in the same direction as the woman in the article, thankfully, she doesn't have any kids. I still remember years ago going to the store and standing in line behind some woman who pulled out food stamps to pay for about a hundred dollars' worth of meat. She proceeded to leave the store and jump into a new Cadillac and drive off.

I worked full time since I was 18. I am now comfortable in my retirement and proud of my work history. I give all sympathy and don't begrudge the benefits to those truly unable to work. Another problem is poor schooling, poor parenting and environment. This welfare underclass is one of the Democrats' main voting base and it's a huge one and they want to see it grow. National bankruptcy is of no concern. They will be out of office with their gold-plated pensions. They will never accept any true solutions and to be honest, they will fight to defend the present situation and always will.

Having lived in the most musical city in the southeast, this story wouldn't even make a gossip column because it is the "way of the world" in certain segments of the city, i.e., "public housing." One can hardly travel the nearby streets for the high-dollar blacked-out windowed automobiles, impossibly raised OR lowered and stickered, that fill up both sides of the streets.

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) had a savage response to his fellow Democrat leader, Sen. Chuck Schumer (NY), offering to reopen the government, and said it involves needing "bail money" if God were to give him strength rather than patience after hearing it. On Friday, Schumer announced his proposal, in which he said that he and his Democrat colleagues would agree to reopen the government if, and only if, the Republicans extended COVID-19-era Obama-care subsidies for another year, and then they could sit down to negotiate with the GOP to deal with healthcare costs.

As we’ve said before, vessel strikes on narco-terrorists will continue until their the poisoning of the American people stops. The White House has asked a federal appeals court to issue an emergency block, after a federal judge ruled on Thursday that the administration would have to pay full Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) payments in full amid the longest government shutdown in United States history. Judge Jack McConnell of the U.S. District Court in Rhode Island rejected the Trump administration’s request to pay only 65 percent of SNAP benefits this month. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has a $5 billion contingency fund for emergencies like the Schumer Shutdown, but that amount falls short of the $8.5 to $9 billion needed to fully fund monthly SNAP payments.

Scott Jennings delivered an epic mic-drop moment on CNN’s The Arena Thursday night, turning what began as a polite discussion about Nancy Pelosi’s legacy into a brutal, hilarious smackdown. Host Kasie Hunt teed up the conversation by asking how Republicans view Pelosi. “Obviously, the president… they have their sort of animosity,” she said, noting that while Pelosi angered many on Capitol Hill, some Republicans had “grudging respect” for her political skills. Jennings didn’t disagree — but he wasn’t about to let the conversation end with flattery. “Oh, yeah,” he said. “There were people who respected her legislative ability. I mean, she was the boss of her conference.”

The Schumer Shutdown is doing more than showing us government waste; it's showing us the corruption of American culture. What we've known was behind the curtain the whole time is now on full display for all to see. I wrote earlier this week about local spots stepping up to care for their neighbors in need, and the comments are fantastic. One of the lines that seemed to resonate with readers was "Little Sally loves popsicles! It's simple: pour orange juice into a paper cup, put a stick in the cup, put the cup in the freezer, wait two hours."

It was never about families. An illegal alien father in Indiana who agreed to self-deport was supposed to have his child with him. The Indianapolis school district said no, just so it could thumb its nose at ICE. Democrats are perfectly happy for children to be trafficked and shipped all around the country to suspicious individuals not related to them, which is how the Biden administration lost track of over 320,000 children. But if an illegal alien father wants to take his child with him as he leaves America, or if immigration authorities say families should be kept together in deportation, leftists scream bloody murder.

Ford is considering scrapping the electric version of its F-150 pickup — once billed as the future of American trucks — after racking up billions in losses and watching demand collapse. Executives are in active talks about axing the money-losing F-150 Lightning altogether, sources told the Wall Street Journal, in what could become the first major casualty of America’s faltering electric vehicle revolution. The Lightning, launched with fanfare in 2021 and hailed by CEO Jim Farley as a ‘smartphone that can tow,’ was supposed to mark a new era for Ford. President Joe Biden even took one for a spin, calling it ‘quick as hell.’ But the hype faded fast.
