The Week In Pictures: Demolition Edition

Thankfully, it wasn’t a heavy news week. So the week’s memes are dominated by soft news stories. like the No Kings protest–which, despite being over for nearly a week, continues to inspire memes–the ongoing government shutdown, the robbery of priceless jewels from the Louvre, and my personal favorite, President Trump’s demolition of the East Wing of the White House. The East Wing connects to the presidential residence via a walkway, and houses the First Lady’s office. The First Lady’s staff, like the social secretary, is housed there, too. Also the Graphics and Calligraphy Office. These offices are being temporarily relocated

Wait a few hours, then go to the Responses at the end of TWIP (thanks to Chumley for pointing that out a few weeks ago). Many more memes. Double your pleasure. Many of these memes wind up on my phone picture gallery.

I thought my cat was stupid for walking into an empty box every time I laid one out. It looks like dims are just as dumb, walking into the box every time President Trump lays one down.

The Anglican communion headed by Canterbury cathedral has been taken over by a group of radicalized elites. The massive shift affects not only the Anglican communion itself, but Great Britain, the Commonwealth, and the global Christian community. The current coup seeks to disestablish Christianity in favor of a religio-political cult dedicated to applying queer theology to the Church, a process that involves the deconstruction of historic church doctrines. The current coup is as significant as Henry VIII’s break from the Catholic church and the authority of the pope in 1534. Henry’s actions disestablished the Church’s position as being superior to earthly authority by making the state headed by the person

Be on the lookout for a pricey custom Range Rover because it might belong to Shaquille O'Neal. The NBA legend has owned dozens of cars over the years. According to GQ, he has had a customized Cadillac Escalade, a Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, a Dodge Challenger, a Ferrari 355 F1 Spider, a Mercedes S550 Convertible, several Bentleys, a 2018 Vaydor, and a Lamborghini Gallardo. He's even owned a Vanderhall Venice three-wheel roadster. Sure, it was heavily customized like many of his cars to fit his 7-foot frame, but seeing him whip around town in that would still be quite the sight. One of the latest additions to his collection is a $180,000

Multiple suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of crown jewels from the Louvre Museum in Paris last weekend, French officials said Sunday. Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said that investigators made the arrests on Saturday evening, including one man who was taken into custody as he was about to leave the country from Charles de Gaulle airport. Beccuau did not confirm the number of arrests, though French media BFM TV and Le Parisien newspaper earlier reported that two suspects had been arrested and taken into custody. She did not say whether the jewels had been recovered. Thieves took less than eight minutes to steal jewels valued at 88 million euros

For all the unity that the Democratic Party projects, there’s actually a lot of drama behind the scenes, and it’s nice to see the details finally come out. According to a new tell-all on last year’s campaign, Joe Biden spent the last weeks of his re-election meltdown dodging phone calls—not from reporters or donors, but from Barack Obama himself. For two full weeks before he finally bailed out last July, Biden reportedly refused to take his old boss’s calls. And get this: even after he quit, he gave Obama the cold shoulder for another month. It’s a far cry from the friendly dynamic Democrats once sold to the public. Remember the memes,

Wind power has been sold to us as an environmental utopia, with lower costs, but ends up being nothing of the sort in practice. With the aid of government subsidies, we are putting up electric generating windmills all over the place. Such subsidies include the Production Tax Credit (PTC), which, according to the Institute for Energy research (IRER), provides a per-kilowatt-hour tax credit for electricity generated by qualified wind projects; and the Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which provides a tax credit based on the investment made in renewable energy projects, including wind. According to IRER, trillions are being invested here. The United States, under the Biden-Harris climate bill,

To me, the most incredible story this week was well-buried in the press: The arrest of “La Diabla,” the female cartel member who butchered pregnant women, stole their organs, and sold their babies. The day’s most astonishing crime-fighting anecdote came from Tulsi Gabbard, who described a story reported last month in the New York Post under the headline, “Female cartel member ‘La Diabla’ busted for running horrific baby-trafficking, organ-harvesting rings.” Tulsi described a new “Fusion Cell” at the ODNI that works with governments like Mexico to find and arrest evil cartel serial killers like “La Diabla” (the Devil), who in assembly-line fashion lured pregnant Mexican women, murdered them, harvested

Matthew Hoffman, the ex-husband of former Congresswoman and gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter, reportedly suffered the indignity (and injury) of having Porter pour boiling potatoes over his head. Now that Porter's volatile temper and bad behavior to her staffers has been exposed for all to see, Hoffman has decided to break his silence on their relationship and confirm what most of us already know: she's a terrible politician, and would make an even worse governor. Hoffman spills the tea. Fortunately, since he lives in OR now, he has a state between them to insulate him from any blowback.

What do people wear to protests? The "No Kings" protests of Oct. 18, 2025, predominantly featured white people aged from 55 to 70+. About 70% were comprised of women, and although they sometimes wore prescription glasses, most were without facial coverings or glasses. They were mostly liberal but ordinary, and they wore ordinary civilian clothes. But notice that not all protesters are similarly garbed. The regulars in environmental rallies not only often wear dark glasses but also face paint, masks, or props like fake blood. In even harder-core protests, Antifa participants are more likely to wear hoodies, face covers, bandanas, or Guy Fawkes masks (popularized by the movie V for Vendetta).

A 48-page report released in September exposes the depth of the nation’s teachers’ unions’ hostility toward all things Jewish. “Breaking Solidarity: How Anti-Semitic Activists Turned Teacher Unions Against Israel,” published by the Defense of Freedom Institute in September, explains how unions have worked to embed anti-Semitism into K–12 education. This anti-Semitism was brought to light after Hamas’s horrific attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, the deadliest single attack on Jews since the Holocaust. The DFI report states that while the teacher unions that once proudly invested in Israel and fiercely affirmed its right to defend itself, “now demand boycotts of, divestments from, and sanctions against the world’s only Jewish state.

We’ve had B-1 bombers going near Venezuela. We’ve had B-52s and F-35 squadrons now in place. I think there’s also a submarine in place, eight warships, Reaper drones, and now this carrier group.

A mystery donor whose $130 million contribution is meant to pay U.S. military troops during the government shutdown is Timothy Mellon, an heir to a renowned Gilded Age banking family, The New York Times reported Saturday. But Mellon’s donation works out to only about $100 per service member. It costs nearly $6.4 billion to pay U.S. troops every two weeks. And using his money might run afoul of federal law, according to the Times, which cited two people familiar with the matter in identifying the billionaire railroad magnate as the donor. When President Donald Trump announced the donation at the White House on Thursday, he did not name the man’s identity,
