Yesterday, we came across a Wall Street Journal article titled: “Tariffs Are Way Up. Interest on Debt Tops $1 Trillion. And DOGE Didn’t Do Much.”
The Journal based its report on a Congressional Budget Office report released earlier in the week.
But I&I readers knew all this months ago.
Because while Democrats and the mainstream press were freaking out about how the Department of Government Efficiency was slashing government, we were reporting the facts.
Back in February, we debunked the claim that Elon Musk was taking a chainsaw to the federal government

The transgender issues that helped propel Donald Trump to his 2024 election victory continue to trap and flummox Democrats.
The latest Democrat caught by the transgender tar baby is Rep. Abigail Spanberger, the Virginia Democrat running for governor. Spanberger was debating her Republican opponent, Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears, earlier this week when the subject of men in girls' locker rooms came up. "We know that girls want to have privacy," Earle-Sears said. "[Spanberger] voted for men nude in girls locker rooms, in bathrooms, and in girls' sports." Earle-Sears was referring to Spanberger's vote for the Equality Act, which allows transgender people to use the bathroom and locker room

Democrats shut down the government partly to force Republicans to extend COVID-era boosts in Obamacare subsidies that Dems once called “temporary” but now say are needed to keep the program viable.
This reveals what a true disaster Obamacare has been, as its critics warned even as Dems were ramming it into law with not a single Republican vote in 2010.
Blindly tossing fresh trillions down that hole is nuts: Time to fix it — or scrap it altogether.
The 10-year cost of Dems’ current demand totals almost a half-trillion dollars, to benefit primarily insurers and wealthier Americans.
Under the expiration that Democrats wrote into law, 1.6 million Americans (just 0.5% of the population)

I wish this were satire, but it’s not. We’re in the middle of a government shutdown battle, and The Washington Post decided to blast this email, apparently, to every member of Congress. You’d think it would be about the shutdown, right? Something about the issue of health care subsidies expiring, or health care for illegal aliens—but, alas, no. It was about which member of Congress was vaccinated against COVID. I’m not kidding: [Tweet]
Seriously, is this really what’s at the top of the story well over there? COVID is over.

Democrats spent years insisting that providing free healthcare to illegal immigrants was a moral imperative. They haven’t exactly kept that a secret. During the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries, every single candidate promised their healthcare plans would cover healthcare for illegals. Now, though, they've shut down the federal government to protect funding streams for these programs—but are pretending that’s not what they are after.
Nevertheless, we know what their objectives are. But their crusade to give free healthcare to illegals has hit a bit of a snag. Faced with exploding costs and healthcare systems on the brink of collapse, blue state governors are quietly pulling the plug on their own sacred cow.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have found a new candidate for office to support—Virginia Democrat gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger.
Spanberger, a former three-term member of Congress, is set to attend a fundraiser on Monday afternoon in McLean, Virginia. The event will be hosted by former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and his wife, Dorothy, along with former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has submitted an immigration detainer request in Virginia for 35-year-old El Salvadoran Illegal Alien Ricardo Leonel Mejia after he was convicted and sentenced to 30 years in prison for three counts of rape on an 11-year-old girl. Mejia was sentenced earlier this week after pleading guilty on June 17, 2025, after he admitted to raping the young girl on three separate occasions in 2024. “The first time occurred a few days prior in the bathroom of the home when the victim’s parents were not home, and the second and third times occurred at night when he entered her bedroom,”

Washington, D.C.'s longtime congressional delegate, Eleanor Holmes Norton, is facing an uphill challenge to reelection with less than $7000 in cash on hand.
Norton, an 88-year-old Democrat who has held office as the district's non-voting member in Congress since 1991, only raised $3,227.30 between July 1 and Sept. 30, according to a quarterly disclosure her campaign filed Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission, NOTUS reported.
As a House delegate, Holmes Norton can vote on bills when they are in committee but cannot cast final floor votes.
As of Sept. 30, Norton's campaign had just $6,477.50 in cash on hand and is $90,000 in debt to Norton, who personally loaned her reelection committee money

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons slammed New York officials for issuing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, including an Indian national caught with an ID that didn’t identify him.
Lyons was left outraged after the now-detained truck driver Anmol Anmol was driving across the US with a license that read “No Name Given” before being arrested in Oklahoma last month.
“It’s really scary,” Lyons told Fox News’ “The Big Weekend Show” Saturday. “To see that on a driver’s license issued by the state, ‘No Name Given.” And the worst part, there’s a REAL ID star right up there in the corner.

This was an incredible week for news, and I am going to discuss just three of what I consider the most important events: The ongoing investigations and criminal indictments; the shutdown of the government, and the ceasefire and return of the hostages in Gaza.
The Ongoing Criminal Investigations
Letitia James, the New York attorney general who confected a criminal case for financial fraud against President Trump has herself been charged with criminal mortgage frauds. Former head of the FBI James Comey has been indicted by a Virginia grand jury for making a false statement to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation.
Reasoned speculation is that former national security adviser John Bolton

They can't ignore her. And she won't stop praising President Trump.
Nobel peace prize winner Maria Corina Machado has got the press over a barrel with her continuous praise of President Trump, going on every mainstream media outlet to say just that.
Just look at the tight, pained, face of CBS's Lilia Luciano when Machado explains why Trump is so good for world peace and peace in Venezuela -- she pours it on: CBS had to run with it, there was no editing allowed now, not after the flak they took, the big payouts they paid, for all their selective editing in the past. It probably helps

The Washington Post editorial board ripped Democratic socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani for his pie-in-the-sky proposal to eliminate bus fares, warning the only beneficiaries would be the city’s homeless and drug users.
“Vagrants and drug addicts would camp out all day on New York’s buses, especially in the winter,” the scathing op-ed published Sunday read. "Parents would grow afraid to let their children ride alone,” the board predicted.
The outlet also mocked Mamdani for brushing off the nearly $800 million his plan would cost the city each year, which he compared to “$50 million less than what New York spent on the new Buffalo Bills stadium.” “Oh, is that
