Virginia’s Early Vote Favors Winsome Earle-Sears

The Virginia gubernatorial race between Republican Winsome Earle-Sears and Democrat Abigail Spanberger has already been won by the latter if one takes the polls seriously. Yet, actual ballots cast during the first week of early voting suggest that the electorate is ignoring the polls. Early voting for the 2025 general election began on September 19 and, according to the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP), turnout is twice what it was in 2021 and it has been particularly high in heavily Republican areas of the Commonwealth. This is remarkably similar to the early voting pattern that prevailed last year.

Polls are extremely inaccurate for a variety of reasons and Americans have pushed the transgender issue to the bottom of the "what's important" list. I can't see how democrats can work up any kind of enthusiasm for their party this time around.

The opening scene of Kamala Harris’ campaign memoir sums up the entire disaster of the Biden-Harris era: two selfish narcissists focused entirely on their own needs and insecurities, trapped together in an alliance with no regard for each other and no concern for the American people. It is the morning Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race on Sunday, July 21. Harris is in her kitchen watching the Cooking Channel and making pancakes for her grandnieces when the president calls from his Rehoboth Beach house in Delaware, where he’d hunkered down with his family after his disastrous debate performance.

I wrote about this guy last summer when he was arrested. Casey Robert Goonan was connected to multiple acts of arson in the Oakland area. His first target, on June 1, 2024 was a Berkeley police SUV. He placed a bag of Molotov cocktails near the back wheel.A claim of responsibility was posted on an anarchist site, connecting the arson to the "Student Intifada." This act was done in retaliation against UCPD, for their attack on students yesterday on a different campus and to retaliate against the University of California for its support for the zionist israel settler colony.

Before last Friday’s House vote on a symbolic resolution condemning the assassination of Charlie Kirk and all forms of political violence while honoring his life, the purported leaders of the Democratic Caucus informed its members that they would support the measure. Yet, in a truly vile floor speech prior to the vote, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) called the resolution “reckless” and claimed Kirk’s “rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated, and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans.” In the end, less than half of the Democrats voted for the resolution. The rest stood with AOC.

The left is in the middle of a full-blown manic response over Jimmy Kimmel's show being indefinitely preempted after a decision by affiliates and ABC. This followed Kimmel's disgraceful remarks alleging MAGA was desperately trying to spin the narrative that Kirk's accused killer wasn't one of them. That flew in the face of facts that the authorities have laid out regarding the case, and frankly, could deceive the public. ABC decided to pull the show after its Nexstar affiliate called the comments "offensive." That sparked a meltdown from Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who blamed Trump.

Generally speaking, when people jump to the conclusion that there was a conspiracy to commit some heinous act, it is a mistake to jump down that rabbit hole without first seeing a lot of evidence that it hides something dangerous. So when people started whispering about a conspiracy to kill Kirk, I thought that it was likely just paranoid musings that led in that direction. After all, lone crazy people do things often enough. But in this case it is beginning to look like this was a Trantifa conspiracy, and the FBI is seriously investigating links between trans activists who explicitly said online things that

As liberals flail around to find a new excuse to ignore the horrific murder of Iryna Slutskaya in Charlotte, a new set of excuses has popped up: Republicans only care about her death because she is white, and if we really cared about Ukrainians, we would support Ukraine even harder in its war against Russia. (Snip for tweet)It's a variation on "Republicans pounce," but in some ways it is more revealing than the more direct version that POLITICO and other media outlets chose as the frame for the issue. It is true that race is a component in the outrage--after all, the killer muttered several

Late last week NBC ran a “news” story featuring a dozen disgruntled federal judges whose rulings against various Trump administration policies have been stayed or overturned by the Supreme Court. These lower court judges, none of whom had the courage to allow NBC to name them in the article, bewailed the failure of SCOTUS to provide sufficient justification for ruling against them. It’s blindingly obvious, however, that the real issue they are whining about is the Court’s refusal to countenance their usurpation of the President’s Article II powers and frustrate implementation of his agenda.

Whew, better late than never! That was my first reaction to the news that President Trump intends to give Rudy Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The announcement followed the serious weekend car crash in New Hampshire that sent the 81-year-old Giuliani to the hospital. Thankfully, his injuries, said to include a broken vertebrae, are not life-threatening and he has been released from the hospital. A likely result is Trump’s presentation will focus almost exclusively on Giuliani’s greatest achievement: His stellar tenure as New York’s mayor.

“Epic” is how a lengthy article in the Wall Street Journal last week described the current investment in AI. In today’s dollars, it dwarfs the investment in the railways in the 1800s. It dwarfs the investment in electrifying America in the early 1900s. It dwarfs the investment in the interstate highway system in the mid-1900s. It dwarfs the investments in the internet at the end of the last century. So, went the gist of the Journal’s article, it must all be an investment bubble – right? – that will come crashing down the way Pets.com and other internet stocks did.

Earlier that day, Roberts had evaded arrest from immigration officers; he was superintendent of the Des Moines Public Schools system, according to KCCI-TV in Iowa. After catching him, Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Roberts possessed an illegally-owned pistol, which he carried in a school-issued car. He also reportedly had $3,000 cash and a fixed-blade hunting knife. Upon news of his arrest, leftists on social media called for an emergency protest, KCCI-TV reported Saturday.

One of the big news stories yesterday was the arrest of the Des Moines, Iowa, superintendent who was overseeing the state’s largest school system, and drawing a substantial taxpayer-funded salary, even though a deportation order was out for him, and he is in the country illegally.
