Election Day 2025 is just around the corner. While it may not be covered with the same intensity as the 2026 midterm elections, Democrats can no longer afford to focus on what happened in 2024. To win upcoming elections, my fellow Democrats must go beyond criticizing President Trump’s awful actions and policies. They must advocate for programs that most people believe will improve their lives by making America more affordable.Democratic candidates are doing this now as they campaign in the only two races for governor this year, in Virginia and New Jersey. Over the past week, Ecuador has undergone a series of violent protests, strikes, and blockades across some of its provinces led by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE) in response to President Noboa’s mid-September decision to end diesel fuel subsidies in the country. The violent protests have so far reportedly left one protester dead and 12 injured military officials On Sunday, President Noboa personally led a humanitarian convoy alongside other government officials and international representatives to the city of Otavalo, Imbabura, one of the municipalities most affected by the ongoing strikes and violent protests.
The bomb squad was dispatched to the scene on Tuesday when the device was reported just outside a building on the Utah State University campus. Administrators had already been taking extra security measures due to “heightened concerns” ahead of the Turning Point USA event — the first in Utah since the assassination of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk. Though the device was deemed to be “non-explosive,” video showed members of the bomb squad yelling, “fire in the hole,” before a loud bang sounded off. Take a look:

One of the rationales Oregon Democrats have been using to push back against President Trump's authorization of troop deployment to Portland is that they say he's using footage of the rioting that happened in 2020 during the George Floyd riots to justify his decision, implying there's no current footage, which is false. It's a theory their mainstream media allies, of course, have floated as well, though at least some of them pointed out that the footage Trump has reportedly seen is not just from the 2020 George Floyd riots but from the unrest and violence Portland has seen near its ICE facility going back at least three months.
As the Gateway Pundit reported over the weekend, a young man named Nigel Max Edge was arrested and charged with three counts of first degree murder after opening fire on the American Fish Company restaurant dock in the North Carolina coastal town of Southport.
Edge is a Marine veteran who served in Iraq. Unfortunately, he was battling some personal demons.
One of his former friends is now speaking out and saying that he tried to get help for the man and that his warnings to authorities went unheeded.

A government shutdown fast approaching, Democratic and Republican congressional leaders left a White House meeting with President Donald Trump Monday afternoon showing no sign of compromising from their entrenched positions in order to avoid a lapse in funding.
If government funding legislation isn’t passed by Congress and signed by Trump on Tuesday night, many government offices across the nation will be temporarily shuttered and nonexempt federal employees will be furloughed, adding to the strain on workers and the nation’s economy.
President Trump formally unveiled a 20-point peace plan Monday calling for an international peacekeeping force in the Gaza Strip and a post-Hamas transitional government overseen by a “Board of Peace” — that Trump himself would lead as chairman.
Trump, 79, announced the plan alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House and said it could bring “eternal peace in the Middle East” — with eight Muslim-majority countries and the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority quickly joining Israel in embracing the blueprint.

For years, we were told by government officials and outside “experts” that the terrorists in our midst were mostly right-wing fanatics – a list that under the Biden administration came to include parents who spoke up at local school board meetings and Catholics who like the Latin mass.
But even the left is now admitting what everyone else already knows.

The Republic of Ireland will offer families of supposed asylum seekers up to €10,000 to drop their claims and voluntarily leave the country, in an apparent admission that the government’s open borders policies have gone too far.
Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan has signed an order to increase the voluntary return grant for alleged asylum seekers, increasing the payout to €2,500 ($2,900) for individuals or €10,000 ($11,700) for families who willingly drop their asylum claims and leave the country, The Irish Times reports.
This is nearly double the previous payouts, which stood at €1,500 ($1,800) per person or €6,000 ($7,000) per family, prior to the order from Minister O’Callaghan.

President Trump said Tuesday that Harvard University has reached a tentative deal with his administration to restore $2.4 billion in frozen federal grants.
