Election Day 2025 is just around the corner. While it may not be covered with the same intensity as the 2026 midterm elections, Democrats can no longer afford to focus on what happened in 2024. To win upcoming elections, my fellow Democrats must go beyond criticizing President Trump’s awful actions and policies. They must advocate for programs that most people believe will improve their lives by making America more affordable.Democratic candidates are doing this now as they campaign in the only two races for governor this year, in Virginia and New Jersey. Wow. Just...wow. Talk about whistling past the graveyard! Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. According to Donna, if the Dims just soften their rhetoric a little and offer the same old snake oil repackaged as the "Affordability Agenda" (you'll have to pass it to find out what's in it), then their path to victory is assured. The delusion is strong in this one... greyseal

I tell you what, if the two democrats win by running on how they're going to lower the costs of housing, health care, energy and groceries, one week after they take office Republicans start complaining that the cost of these items have not gone down. This is what they did to President Trump. Not one month passed before the 'rats started to complain that he failed to do what he promised by stopping inflation. Right?

Spanberger also wants to do away with right-to-work in Virginia. She will be a disaster but she is going to win. The Dems all over the country (and maybe beyond) have poured unbelievable amounts of money into her campaign. And all those Dems in northern Virginia who work for the federal government believe the Republicans shut down the government when it is clear the Dems were responsible for that too.

One of the rationales Oregon Democrats have been using to push back against President Trump's authorization of troop deployment to Portland is that they say he's using footage of the rioting that happened in 2020 during the George Floyd riots to justify his decision, implying there's no current footage, which is false. It's a theory their mainstream media allies, of course, have floated as well, though at least some of them pointed out that the footage Trump has reportedly seen is not just from the 2020 George Floyd riots but from the unrest and violence Portland has seen near its ICE facility going back at least three months.

Mayor Eric Adams’ decision to end his mayoral campaign is unsurprising. The scandal-tarred incumbent was running a poor fourth in most polls and had no chance of re-election. His choice nonetheless can have important repercussions. His withdrawal was the first domino to fall in the series of events Andrew Cuomo needs to have any shot of beating Zohran Mamdani in November. The polls clearly show how hard Cuomo’s task is. The Real Clear Politics polling average has Mamdani ahead by a whopping 18.7 percentage points. More importantly, it shows Mamdani receiving 44.4% of the total vote. That’s already likely to be enough to win in anything short of a two-man race.

As Milton Friedman always said, governments cause inflation. Thus, the government is behind the massive increase in college tuition. That affects a lot of people, but what affects even more is health care. Join me as I explain how the falsely named Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Obamacare) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) have caused massive inflation in healthcare and health insurance costs since 2009. In 2009, when the average cost of an individual health policy was under $100 and family coverage was under $400, democrats decided that health insurance cost too much, and too many didn’t have coverage. Therefore, without any Republican support, they wrote a 1,000-page bill.
